Chapter 1: An Unexpected Reunion

Chapter 1: An Unexpected Reunion

1 EXT. A harbor in Spain – DAY

I was strolling down the harbor when I suddenly noticed a large crowd and decided to check it out. As I wormed my way to the front of the circle, I saw a tough-looking marine and two of his navy buddies standing across from another person. In between them are 2 spirits engaged in battle. A spirit that resembles a shark with arms & legs and a spirit that resembles an oversized rat.

The man across from the marine tells the rat-like spirit to attack. The spirit listens and runs forward with his sharp nails out.

Marine (In Spanish): You will have to be more creative than that.

The marine sticks both his palms out and shoots water towards the rat-like spirit. It gets blown away and lands on his back. While he is lying on his back, the marine orders the shark-like spirit in front of him to attack. The before mentioned spirit jumps forward and uses his pointy teeth to bite his opponent. He deals significant damage and the rat-like spirit de-materializes back into his master’s wristband.

Marine (In Spanish): You want to test your luck, or have you had enough?

The shark-like spirit growls at the guy.

Random guy (In Spanish): You win. I give up.

The man reaches in his pocket and takes out money. He hands it over to the marine and walks away. The spirit of the marine also dematerializes into his wristband.

There are two ways to win in a Spirit-Master battle. The first way is by rendering your opponent unable to continue battle himself. The second way is by de-materializing the spirit and having its master admit defeat.

When a spirit is dematerialized, its master is not obligated to give up. He can continue if he is confident in his own skills. However, this is uncommon due to the fact that humans generally possess inferior magic and combat abilities to spirits.

Marine (In Spanish): Ha-ha-ha. Who is next?

Marine 2 (In Spanish): Everyone is probably too scared now ha-ha-ha.

As they are laughing, I step forward and enter the ring. The marines stop laughing for a second and look at me from top to bottom. Their faces look surprised for only a second. They then to proceed to laugh even harder.

Marine (In Spanish): Hey kid, are you lost or something.

I look him dead in the eyes.

Marine 3 (In Spanish): I don’t think he can understand you Pablo, he looks foreign.

I know how I must appear to them. However, I am fully aware of what is at stake here.

Pablo (In Spanish): Kid do you understand me? This is not some game. Here we fight for money. MO-NEY.

I reach into my pocket and pull out a stack of euro bills.

Marine 2 (In Spanish): I guess he knows what’s up.

Marine 3: (In Spanish): Hey, go easy on the kid, huh Pablo. Hahaha.

Pablo (In Spanish): Sorry, when there is money on the line, I will not hold back. Wrong place, wrong time kid.

The battle ensues. My opponent materializes his spirit from his wristband again. It is the same spirit as before. I respond by materializing my own spirit from my necklace. My spirit, Grimm, is a fire dragon-spirit. He is roughly the same size as his spirit, but guessing from the crowd’s reaction, he has a more intimidating aura surrounding him. Grimm breathes flames from his nostrils. Pablo, his buddies, and the crowd look shocked.

Pablo (In Spanish): S-so your spirit looks tough, who cares. A water spirit is strong against a fire spirit.

He is right, but that will not matter in this case.

Mysterious boy (In Spanish): You talk too much.

Pablo (In Spanish): What did you say?! Alright how about this.

Pablo orders his spirit to attack. He shoots a beam of water at Grimm. I quickly respond by turning my hands to face upwards. The ground in front of Grimm rises and blocks the attack by forming a stone shield.

Mysterious boy (In Japanese): Our turn, Grimm.

Grimm flies up and easily disposes of the shark-spirit. He slashes straight through him with one attack of his claw. It de-materializes back into Pablo’s wristband. Grimm then looks with a side-eye towards Pablo. He lets out a big sigh.

Pablo (In Spanish): I give up.

I jump on Grimm’s back and we take flight. As we pass over Pablo, I grab the money from his hand. We fly off into the distance.

Mysterious boy (In Japanese): Thanks for the money old-timer!

2 EXT. The roof of a hospital – DAY

As we fly over the roof of the hospital, I jump off Grimm’s back. He de-materializes back into my necklace before I land on the roof. I then proceed to walk through the door that leads inside.

3 INT. Inside the hospital – DAY

As I walk through the hallway of the hospital, I stop at a door which reads: ‘Patient: Jin Kai’ and barge in.

Mysterious boy: Sorry I am late dad; I ran into some easy money.

I see the doctor at my father’s bedside.

Mysterious boy: Oh doctor, you are already here.

My dad is laying in a hospital bed hooked up to equipment. He is sick for as long as I can remember, but he has deteriorated rapidly in the last month. We have been informed that the end for him is near. Initially I was extremely depressed because of this. However, my dad wants me to be strong. He pulled me through and mentally prepared me for the day that it will come.

Both dad and the doctor have a serious look on their face.

Doctor: I will leave you two alone Mr. Kai.

Father: Thank you, doctor.

On his way out, the doctor pats my shoulder.

Father: Come sit next to me Dani.

He only asked me to come sit next to him, but he somehow sad it in a way that made it completely clear what he was about to tell me.

My eyes began to well up.

Father: A week after you were born, they told me I had 6 months left. That was 16 years ago. I have been blessed with this extra time, but my luck has run out. My organs are failing one by one. I am afraid this is it.

A tear runs over my cheek.

Father: Stay strong son. You knew this was coming sooner or later.

I wipe the tear away and nod.

Dani: There was so much I still wanted to learn from you.

Father: I taught you all I know. Do not worry, you remind me of myself at your age. You will do great.

I ball my fists out of frustration.

Father: I have released my spirits; they have returned to their homes.

Dani: Even Pyrogrimm?

Father: Yes. He is back at our family home in Japan where I met him. The same place where your Grimm came from.

Dani: So, both me and Grimm are going to be separated from their father...

I wrap my fingers around my necklace.

Father: I am afraid so son. And since I am not going to be around anymore, there is something that needs to happen.

Dani: What is it?

Father: When I am gone, I cannot leave you all alone. It is my duty as a father to make sure you are taken care off.

Dani: I will be okay dad. I can fend for my own. I can make money with battling.

Father: A 15-year-old cannot be left unsupervised. Not even an independent 15-year-old like you.

Dani: Well, it has always been just the two of us. There isn’t really another option available.

Father: There is actually.

Dani: Who?

Dad suddenly averts his gaze from me. He tries to find the right words, but they do not seem to come to him.

Father: What I tell you now, may shock you.

Dani: What is it?

Father: Please know that I had valid intentions when I withheld this information from you.

Dani: Dad, tell me!

Father: I-I don’t know how to bring this, so I am just going to say it.

At this point, I have absolutely no clue what he is trying to say.

Dani: Go on already!

As his head turns back to me, his eyes feel like they pierce straight through my soul.

Father: Your mother is not dead. She is alive and currently lives in Tokyo with our other son, your older brother.

I am completely lost for words.

Dani: W-what do you mean?

Father: I left the country when you were born, and I took you with me. When I did this, I left them both behind.

What is he even saying? That is completely out of character.

Dani: What are you talking about? What about my mother? What about this other son that you are talking about? That is not something you would do. You would never abandon people.

Father: I am sorry, I cannot go into the specifics of it. She now goes by the name of Aki Ayami. I had someone research that name and they found her address for me. I want you to go there and meet her.

Dani: This is all so confusing. I don’t even know those people, and you are asking me to live with them.

Father: I know son. It is all my fault and I understand it if you hate me, but your mother has done nothing wrong.

I turn my head away. This is a lot to process.

Father: Please go see her. It would mean everything to her.

I keep silent for a while trying to gather my thoughts. Can I really be mad at my dad about this? It is shocking but at the same time, I really don’t know those people. I am indifferent towards them. I have more trouble accepting my dad’s actions. It just sounds surreal that he would do something like that. He would never purposely hurt anyone.

Dani: I don’t hate you dad. My mind is just a little mumbled.

Father: I cannot even imagine how confused you must be about the whole situation. It is a situation that a father can not put his son in, but here we are.

I Look back at my father. I see the eyes that he has always had. The same kind eyes. I can see that he wants to tell me something, but knows he shouldn’t. He must have had a good reason for doing this. Something he cannot tell me.

Dani: It’s okay dad. I forgive you. You must have a valid reason for what you did.

Father: I am blessed with such an understanding son.

Dani: Well, I said I forgave you, but I do not understand anything right now. This request that you are making… It’s just… I cannot go live with some people I never met…

Dad looks disappointed.

Dani: …but if it is your final wish then I will at least go see them.

Dad gets a smile on his face again.

Father: That’s wonderfull, son. It feels good to know that you will be reconciled with your mother and brother. I can now rest peacefully.

Dani: To be honest, it is quite shocking news, but it is not like I have any attachment to them. I don’t even know them.

Father: I cannot decide for you how you should feel. The only one who can do that is you. Therefore, you must go to Japan and find that out for yourself.

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

Dani: So, I am going back to my birthplace. What is Japan even like?

Father: I think you will like it. There are some strong people out there.

Dani: Not as strong as us!

Father: Did you know I suffered my only defeat there?

Dani: You lost to someone?

Father: Yes son. Everyone suffers defeat sometimes. The important thing is how you deal with it.

I can’t believe dad has ever lost. He is the strongest person I know. Then, I will do what he couldn’t. In his honor.

Dani: I swear to you dad, I will never lose.

I suddenly remember why I was here in the first place. The tears start to well in my eyes again.

Father: I am proud of you, no matter what son.

The tears now begin to run over my cheeks. I hug my father knowing it will be the last time.

Dad now starts to tear up as well. He hugs me back.

After a while, I loosen my grip and wipe the tears from my face. No more crying. Dad wants to see me go on. To be strong.

Father: I have only 2 regrets in life, and one of them is not being able to see you and your brother grow up together. I just know you are both going to become amazing Spirit-Masters.

Dani: I promise you dad, I will become the greatest Spirit-Master the world has ever seen. I will never lose a match and surpass even you.

Father: I have no doubts about that son. Now I think you should be on your way. You don’t want to watch me leave this world.

Dani: I guess this is it then.

Father: I guess so. I have something I want you to give to your brother when you see him.

Dad hands over a book. It looks like a journal of sorts.

Dani: I will give it to him. Goodbye dad.

Father: Goodbye son.

4 INT. On an airplane – NIGHT

As I stare out the window of the plane, I see the hospital that my dad is in, living out his last days. He might already be dead for all I know. At least I got to say my goodbye. That is more than most people can ask for.

As I stare at the book that my father has left for my brother, I am still trying to process all the information that was given to me yesterday. I can’t just go live with some strange people. I have to devote myself to becoming the greatest Spirit-Master of all time. Living in a suburban house in the outskirts of Tokyo is not going to help me towards that goal. Besides, they are probably not waiting on me either. They have their own life with the two of them. I am just a stranger to them. They do not want me disrupting what they have going on. I will introduce myself, give the book, and leave.

5 EXT. Tokyo – DAY

I finally arrived in Tokyo. I have to admit, the city looks pretty cool. There is stuff happening everywhere. There are even two people battling with their spirits in the middle of the square. As I walk on, I notice a huge JumboTron plastered against a building. People are watching and cheering at some guy who is on the screen. The lower-third states his name: ‘Daishi Hara’. He is talking about the fact that he is representing the nation for the third consecutive time as their candidate to battle in the Spirit-Master world cup.

National representative: I am honored to represent our nation once again as many of the Hara family have done before me. I promise to do everything in my power to return home victorious this year.

I recognize his face. He did well at the world cup last year. Representing your country 3 times in a row is quite the feat. I never really thought about this, but what country am I representing when I participate in the world cup later? My dad is Chinese, and my mom is Japanese, but I have not really lived in either country. I guess it comes down to whoever pays the most money.

Okay, enough sightseeing. I have to fulfill my fathers wish. I can tour the city some more before my flight tomorrow. Maybe I can battle someone too. Then my hotel fee for tonight will be earned back immediately.

6 EXT. Taxi - Evening

I took a taxi to the address that my father left me. It has gotten quite dark outside already. We stop at a park in front of the house that fits the address.

Dani: It seems to be around here. Could you pick me back up in about an hour at this same park?

Taxi driver: Sure thing.

I get out and the taxi drives off.

7 EXT. Driveway of the Ayami family - Evening

As I walk up to the door, I stop for a brief moment.

Dani: Okay, this it. In and out.

I ring the doorbell. It remains quiet for a few seconds but after a while the door opens up. A tall kid that vaguely resembles me is standing in the doorway.

Unknown boy: Can I help you?

Dani: Yes, I am here for Aki Ayami. Does she live here?

Unknown boy: Uh yes, that is my mother. I will call her. MOM! There is someone at the door for you.

Mother: Who is it dear?

His mother begins to walk towards the door.

Unknown boy: I don’t know, some boy. Look.

The boy swings the door fully open, revealing me to his mother who had just entered the hallway. I make direct eye-contact. I was unsure how to tell her that I am her son, but before I can even say a word, her face suddenly changes as if she is looking at a ghost.

Mother: Jin?!

As she utters my father’s name under her breath, she suddenly faints and loses consciousness. She falls to the ground.

Unknown boy: MOM!

The boy runs towards his mom.

8 INT. Inside the Ayami House - Evening

I helped the boy to put his mother in bed and explained the entire situation to him. He apparently also knew nothing about me or my father. He thought dad died when he was 1 years old. There has to be a reason why both our parents lied to us.

He was surprisingly calm when I broke the news to him. His general presence felt calm. Like he did not have a care in the world.

Unknown boy: I think she is going to be okay. I cannot blame her for passing out though. After what you told me about yourself and our father. You probably resemble him a lot.

Dani: Yeah, I guess I do.

Unknown boy: So… we are brothers?

Dani: Apparently. I can still not even comprehend it.

Unknown boy: My name is Devi by the way. Devi Ayami.

Dani: My name is Dani. Dani Kai.

Devi: Kai? As in THE Kai family. The ones who moved their business here from China and became one of the most rich and influential people in the country? The ones who had control over almost the entire southern region of Japan back in the day.

My grandfather did come here from China but the rest of his story is completely unknown to me.

Dani: Huh? What do you mean? We were not rich when I grew up.

Devi: I mean, their company went bankrupt after the head of the family became ill and his son had to take over at a young age.

Dad did tell me that my grandfather was ill and passed away early, just like he did. He told me that his disease was hereditary and had me checked for it. Luckily, I did not posses the mutation in the gene that causes it. I hope Devi does not have it as well.

Dani: What happened next?

Devi: Their business relations cut ties with them. They lost all their influence in the south and their rivals from the north took over their clients. The Hara family. It happened about 15 years ago, but it is a well-known story in Japan.

Dani: The Hara family you say…

That guy from earlier today on the JumboTron in downtown Tokyo was named Hara. He seemed about the same age as my dad was. It must have been his father then.

Devi: Yes, the Hara family is like royalty now. They are not only famous because of their wealth but also because of their history with producing strong Spirit-Masters.

He knows more about my dad’s ancestry than I do. I only knew that our grandfather moved to Japan and that dad grew up here. Why would he keep so many secrets from me?

Dani: Dad never told me anything about this.

Devi: What was he like?

Dani: Dad? He was the strongest Spirit-Master I have ever seen. He trained me to become one too. He taught me everything I know.

Devi looks a bit sad upon hearing this. He probably never had that kind of relationship in his life and I just rubbed it in his face. What was I thinking, saying that to him?

Dani: Oh, I am sorry. That was insensitive of me.

Devi: No, it’s okay. I was the one who asked.

I can’t imagine not having someone like dad in my life.

Oh, right. The book!

Dani: That reminds me. He asked me to give something to you.

I hand the book over to Devi. I looked at it in the plane. There are all kinds of tips and tricks in the book on becoming a spirit master. He must like that. Devi opens the book. At first, he smiles, but the smile quickly fades.

Devi: I am not sure how to feel about this. I presumed he died when I was 1, so I did not blame him for being absent in my life. Now I hear he was living with another son. Teaching him all he knows. Does he think this book is enough to replace him?

He is right. My arrival must be the most frustrating thing he can imagine. I knew I would just mess up what they had going on here. I just made them both sad. I only brought them misery.

Dani: I am so sorry about this. I am just causing trouble for you and your mother. I should not have come.

I get up from the couch.

Dani: My taxi is coming in half an hour. I will wait outside. Give the best regards to your mother for me.

I walk straight towards the door and go outside. I was already conflicted about coming here but this confirmed my feelings.

9 EXT. Park in front of the Ayami House – Evening

As I am sitting on a bench at the park in front of their house, I see the door suddenly open. Devi comes walking up to me and joins me on the bench.

Devi: Hey. Sorry you had to watch that pity party just now. It’s not like it is your fault or anything. It’s just the way things are.

Dani: No, I get it. We might be blood-related, but we are not really a family. We are living in two separate worlds and this is your world. I should not have come and invaded it. I don’t belong here.

Devi: You could belong here. Please come back inside. You have not even talked with our mom.

I look away. I don’t even know what to reply. Something inside of me wants to talk with her but I feel conflicted about it.

Devi: This can be your world too Dani. We can become a family.

Dani: I don’t know…

Devi: Okay, how about this. We have a spirit-battle right here. If I win, you come back and stay with us for at least a couple of days. If you win, then you are free to do what you want.

I suddenly get a smile on my face. That is exactly how I solve everything.

Should I? I am curious about how he fights. Plus, I am confident in my own skills.

Dani: A spirit-battle? Are you sure?

Devi: You bet! I have to warn you though. I am currently the 11th ranked spirit-master from my school.

Is that really something to brag about?

Dani: That does not sound very convincing. Are you actually sure about this?

Devi summons his spirit from his necklace. When his spirit was revealed to me, I could not help but get an even bigger smile on my face.

Devi: I am 100% sure.

Before me stood exactly the same… no, a slightly bulkier fire-dragon spirit as Grimm. This was the last thing I expected, but I knew this was going to be interesting.

Dani: This might be fun after all.

I summon Grimm from my necklace as well.

Dani: I guess we are not the only ones who found their brother today.

The spirits stare at each-other as smoke blows out of their nostrils. Devi looks just as surprised as I was.

Devi: This was unexpected. I assume you also have yours for as long as you can remember.

Dani: Indeed. Dad always said that the Kai family had a deep connection with Dragon spirits.

Devi: He wasn’t lying.

Dani: Well. Let’s make this quick so I can catch my taxi.

Devi: If you insist. Pyro attack!

He named him Pyro. Dad must have picked out that name before he left.

Let’s start out with a low magical output to gage his strength.

Pyro attacks with a beam of flames but Grimm easily dodges. Pyro continues to attack but there is a noticeable gap in skill level between the two spirits. He does have some power to him though.

Dani: Those are some powerful attacks, but they do not seem to be connecting. I will show you how it is done.

Grimm now begins to attack. He shows some flashy maneuvers and manages to land multiple hits on Pyro. Although, it does not seem to faze Pyro as much as I expected. Grimm clearly possesses more technique and speed, but Pyro seems to be more bulky and powerful. The spirits keep exchanging attacks, but the battle is not really progressing. I am going to jump in the battle and directly target Devi. Let’s see what he can do.

Dani: Okay, this is going no-where. Luckily, Spirit-Master battles consist of two components. The spirits and the masters. I hope you can defend yourself.

First, I will get closer using a shadow portal.

The portal appears on the ground before me and I jump in.

Devi: Huh? Where did he go?

Another portal appears in the sky close to him and I fall out. Next, I will freeze his legs to prevent him from dodging.

Ice appears at Devi’s feet. That will lock him into place.

Devi: What is happening to my legs?

Okay, I set the stage. Time for a thunderbolt. Let’s see what he will do. I charge a thunderbolt in my palms and shoot it at him.

Just before the thunderbolt is about to hit him. His spirit jumps in front and receives damage.

Devi: How?! How have you mastered all these different forms of magic already? That is unheard of for someone from your age.

Is he really impressed right now? His spirit just took damage. Why didn’t he use magic to block it?

Dani: This is not the time to be admiring your opponent!

Devi now looks shocked at my angry outburst.

Dani: Why did you let your spirit take all the damage? You are supposed to be a team. Why did you not cover him with magic?

Devi: Well… I…

Dani: Also, a master has to provide his spirit with his strength by feeding him magic. Pyro is barely receiving anything from you.

Devi: I…

Dani: I will show you how it is done.

I channel magic into the necklace where my spirit is bound to. Grimm’s power and speed suddenly increase at an alarming rate.

Dani: This is Grimm’s true form!

Grimm unleashes multiple attacks and overpowers Pyro. Grimm blast a final beam of fire and Pyro dematerializes upon contact.

Devi has his head down.

Dani: Honestly, your spirit is strong but if you provided him with more magic then you would be able to go much further. Did nobody teach you that?

Devi: No. Nobody taught me that. I did not have someone around who could pass down that type of knowledge to me.

When he said those words, I immediately realized how insensitive I had been again. He did not have access to someone like dad.

Dani: I- You’re right. I keep forgetting.

Devi puts his head back down.

At that moment my taxi arrives at his house.

Devi: Well, I guess that is yours. It was nice meeting you.

Dani: Yeah, I guess.

As I walk towards the taxi, I suddenly begin to realize something. I actually feel bad for him. I don’t know him, but I kind of feel this bond with him.

It is not the same as having a dad, but maybe I could help him start out. I guess that is the least I can do. He is sort of my brother after all.

Dani: Hey Taxi driver, I’m sorry. I don’t need the taxi anymore. I will pay you for your trouble.

The taxi drives off without me as I walk back to Devi who is sitting on the bench in the park.

Dani: Hey, I was thinking. Maybe I can teach you a few things.

Devi: Why would you care. You won. You are free to go.

Dani: Well, the battle was surprisingly fun. I guess I could stay a couple of days.

Devi: Are you sure that is what you want?

Dani: Yes, I am sure.

Devi suddenly turns cheerful as if it were his plan all along to manipulate me.

Devi: Yes, this is going to be fun! Now tell me. How did you do the shadow teleportation move. And the Ice move? Show me again!

Devi takes out the book he got from dad.

Devi: Are they in here? Huh? Are they?

Why does it feel like I have just been tricked…?

Dani: All right. A promise is a promise. The first thing you need to know, is this technique here. This is how you transfer your magic to your spirit and power him up. It is simple. You let magic flow from your core towards the object that your spirit is bound to.

Devi: How do I do that?

Dani: Just follow the instructions in here. It is mostly done through breathing. Whenever you are not doing anything, practice these breathing exercises.

Devi: Yes sir!

Dani: You are my older brother. It’s kind of weird to address me in that way.

Devi: Roger!

Dani: Okay, good enough. This is also a good exercise for you. Your spirit had trouble connecting his hits on my spirit. If you have trouble with a fast opponent, you can use a move to pin an opponent in his place, which grants your spirit a free window to attack. This Dragon Claw move is a good example.

Devi: How fast can I learn this?

Dani: That depends on how fast of a learner you are. You do have a natural affinity for Dragon magic so it will probably not take too long. Let’s say around 2 weeks of training to master it. If you invest a lot of time.

Devi: Do you think we can speed that up a bit? I have an important battle coming up.

Dani: When is the battle?

Devi: The day after tomorrow.

That is just impossible.

Dani: I don’t think that is going to work out. Let us just start and see what you got.

We then trained for 3 hours before we called it quits and walked back to their home.

I wonder if his mother has already woken up. She would have definitely seen us through the window if she did.

Dani: You learn surprisingly quick. If you keep this up, you will master it within no-time.

Devi: You are a good teacher.

10 INT. Inside the Ayami House - Evening

As soon as I entered the house, someone rushes towards me and swings her arms around me. It is Aki. Devi starts smiling because of it. I am unsure on how to react. Do I hug her back? I have not even spoken with her. Wait, she is crying.

Aki (Whispering & crying): Look how you have grown. I am never letting you go again.

I don’t know how to respond to this. I signal towards Devi to help me out. He understands.

Devi: Mom, it is pretty late already and Dani came straight from the airport. Is it okay if he sleeps here tonight? You can talk with each other tomorrow while I am at school.

Aki: Yes, of course! He can stay for as long as he wants. I am sorry dear; you must be tired. I already made your beds.

Aki wipes her tears and finally let’s go of me. She then proceeds to grab me by my shoulders and stairs me straight into my eyes.

Aki: Okay, we will talk tomorrow. Of to bed, you two. I have already put your stuff in Devi’s room. You will have to share a room. Goodnight boys!

Devi: Okay mom, goodnight!

Dani: Goodnight.

Me and Devi head to his room and go to bed. As much as I try, I simply cannot fall asleep. I have my eyes closed, but I am thinking about Aki and the conversation that is going to take place tomorrow.

After an hour of contemplating, I suddenly hear a noise from across the room. I look to my side and see Devi sneaking out. I wonder what he is going to do? I then suddenly hear the outside door open and close. Out of curiosity, I look out of the window in his room and see him walking up to the park with the book he got from Dad. He continues his practice from earlier.

I just met that guy, but I can't help but think he has something special about him. Maybe… Maybe he will be my first friend.
