Chapter Four:

A tribulation of the western world had begun, and we were called to battle. I had taken my spear and shield, ready for what will come. I was meant to die on the battlefield that day. So, the king told me to lead his men into battle. "Wandering Man, you are of great virtues. Let some men return to me when the battle is won. You will give me hope."

As Spartans we all marched together. With myself in the first line, among many great Spartans. Some will not see the day end, and I am one of them. As we peaked the peninsula, we saw a great army, that gave a loud cry to war.

Although I was no officer like the general, I gave my best to be a leader. I encouraged the Spartans to fight hard, for this battle was the end of the world.

We let the undead army charge. As they reached the first line, we gave a war cry and pushed. They bounced off, and we're quickly killed.

No flanks, that we noticed, just mindless barbaric zombies, of undead men. We laughed at the incompetent force we fought. This angered the army. Sending them to circle with hundreds of thousands of warriors, around us. We formed a circle wall. Barricading our army with large gold and round shields. We fended off the circle, after hours of fighting through the night. As it grew dark, some men noticed shadows flying overhead. Shaded demons, not of this world, so could not harm us, only to scare. A spartan threw his spear at one of the shades to make sure. As the spear struck the ground, it sent a debilitating shake in the earth.

Suddenly hands after hands, came out of the ground. Some men were dragged to their crushing death. Others side stepped the grave hands, and still the shield wall held.

One spartan beckoned me, with a detached hand from the ground. I faltered at a push from the wave of zombies. Then a spartan staggered to keep me up. A minor flaw of the wall, but was not enough for the army to break through.

Daylight began to shine over the horizon. And with sunlight we began to see our foe more clearly. We noticed that they had been dwindled due to the fact of not only our slaying, but of mere age and time of how long the undead army had been waiting to rise from the ground.

I had counted every single stroke of my sword, that fight. So far 12,000 and I had not tired.

A mere day of fighting was all we needed, to finish the army. We assured each other the battle was over.

I thought I had meant to die that day. But, when we returned, I sought the fates that had blessed me with the 5 warrior virtues.
