Greetings guys and gals. I have some good news and some bad news.

First, in short, let me tell you what happened over the last two weeks. There was some family drama, some personal drama, and a bit of unexpected fun. All of that led to me skipping days and a reduced quality of writing overall. Chapter seven is kind of done and I was planning on releasing it on Sunday after one final quality pass. However, on Saturday I came upon a few realizations, which took over on Sunday. These realizations were both about my writing and my productivity.

Now, time for good news and bad news.

Bad news, I will take two or so weeks off from publishing. The reason is that I found a gap in my writing process that made every aspect of writing extra difficult and the quality to drop. If I had to fill this gap for the whole book it would take me months. Luckily, I only need to do this for the first 25-50 chapters, which I should be able to do in said two weeks.

Good news, I believe once this is done the quality will get a decent bump up. Also, the process should get much easier, which would remove all the pesky delays.

Bad news, I found out I need more time to properly wrap my mind around the whole fantasy world I am crafting for each chapter. I simply need to sleep on things, process what I made yesterday, and build on top of it. Which means I will be reducing the release to one chapter a week.

Good news, I don’t like the idea of one chapter a week. I have plans for the future that do not mesh well with me writing this one story for 10 years, even 5 seems too long. So, I am working towards more published words per week, so this state of affairs should not remain for long.

Last, I don’t like how I communicate changes like these, delays to releases, etc., here on RR. If I am ahead, an AN might be sufficient and down the line I might stick with just those. However, I need a short-term solution and that would be a Patreon page and a discord server. For those that want concrete info now, I will post updates there fairly regularly.

BTW, while I plan on making a profit by having bonus chapters locked behind subscriptions, I am not there yet. For now, Patreon would serve only as a message board, same for Discord, which in the future will transform into much more.

I have big plans, but for now, they are just ideas and dreams. I hope I succeed in making them a reality.
