Mission

𝆺𝅥 𝆺𝅥𝅮 “Ponsiac panzy—𝆺𝅥𝅮 𝆺𝅥” ACK!

I slipped and fell and lost my shoe! Where did it go? I look around and see that it slid down into something yucky.. whoops! and now I got mud on my boot! "I grab a stick and fish my boot out of the muck. It worked! I carefully wipe the mud off, father would have scolded me incessantly if he found out. You shouldn't have been out in the first place! You know how much those cost! Blah blah blah. I hate it!—No, I shouldn't say hate. I find it... infuriating. I finished wiping the mud off when my thoughts settled. Now to continue down the trail! I try to walk how I'm supposed to, but I just can't walk like a noble when there's a tree begging for me to climb it! I slip a little as I climb, but I make it up to where I can see a wonderful view down the hill. I can see all the way to the lake! I gasp. Are the kiseds father bought going to hatch soon? I turn to my best friend, who.. isn't here right now because he is taking a half day off. I look around for anyone, and luckily I don't see the Watchers. I let out a breath I realize I had been holding. I wanna see the kiseds! Dadd- *ahem* Father said that he set up their nest next to the river, which goes in the lake and through it. Father says it's almost an oxbow. I slippily slide my way through the muddy path. I know I'm in for a scolding, but I still want to see the mama kised! I still try to wipe my boots though, I might be scolded at least a little bit less. The lady da- father bought her from said that the babies would take.. I pause and look at my fingers to make sure that I get the number right. One, two.. Three..four.. five.. six.. eight, nine? I frustratedly shake my hands out and look for something else to count. I can't point at the finger I'm counting on after five. I see some pretty berries on a bush. I pick as many as I can and arrange them how my teacher taught me to. I carefully count it this time. One! Two.. three.. four [5 ish minutes later] ten! Eleven.. twelve, thirteen fourteen.. [more time later] eleventy one, eleventy two! It takes eleventy two days for them to hatch! I skip towards the river, forgetting about the mud. “𝆺𝅥Ponsiac panzy,𝆺𝅥𝅮 play in the𝆺𝅥 green, 𝆺𝅥chasing the butterflies,𝆺𝅥 𝆺𝅥𝅮 just like a dream!𝆺𝅥 𝆺𝅥𝅮” that's a tune that mommy *cough cough* mother taught me! When I play with other kids my age they will know that song and we can sing it together! I make it to the edge of the lake and carefully walk along the edge towards the rivery bit. The water looks yucky, I don't know why fishies like to swim in it, especially when it's so cold! D- Father says that they're adapted better than people. I wanna adapt! I can climb trees and I know how to swim! D-fffather also says that it takes a lot of families? Whatever! Enough about father! I make it to the rivery bit! And I totally didn't even slip t̵w̵i̵c̵e̵ at all! I found the cute little house that daddy imported! It's like a chicken coop but painted red and looks like a little house! I quietly creak open the door and find the momma kised! She looks Like a fox, but a mermaid fox! Dadd- ahem Father says that they're super smart too! The mother kised is laying down while looking super sad. "What's wrong?" I ask. She looks at me for a moment. She stares hard, is it a staring contest? I lose pretty soon after. She stops staring at me, gets up, and walks slowly to a spot near her eggs, scratching lines into the floor. I get worried, d-ffaather would be mad at her, no, it would be worse, she would have set off his.. um, what's the word.. uh.. oh! Wrath! Father's wrath would be set off by the scratches on the floor. She paws at one of the scratches and touches an egg, why? Is she trying to say the egg did it? She does it again with the next scratch and a different egg. I watch. She gets to the last scratch and doesn't paw at an egg, but at the air next to them. I think hard, and I think she might want another egg, or did she.. Oh! She's lost an egg! I have to tell dad! "I'll help you! I'll go get my dad and he will help us find your baby!" I say determinedly. I set off back up the trail I went, not even caring for the muddy mud that's getting all over me. I am on a mission! Hehe, like a hero!
