After Mor had been thrown out, Saphine and Tiara started letting off steam by badmouthing the target of their affection. Clare waited and listened, interested in the creative insults that were flung. This would have been also interesting to humans, who might have started ranking them.
Some highlights were Tiara calling Mor an inconsiderate, insensitive, irredeemable, irrational idiot, while Saphine added pedantic peasant to the badmouthing. Another good entry was brainless barbaric bastardly brute, courtesy of Orth, who showed up after a while and, after a quick explanation, joined in, though primarily for fun.
Still, after a while, both girls had cussed about Mor enough, and a sort of desolate silence set in. Clare used this chance to ask the obvious question.
"What do you want to do now?"
"Shouldn't that be obvious?" Orth answered instead of the two girls. I'm sure Mor has no idea what he did wrong. He might be smart, but he has no experience handling girls. I'm sure he wanted to be nice in his own way."
"We know that," Saphine answered for both of them.
"Still, it's HOW he said it!" Tiara added.
" Then back to my question," Clare said.
"Well, I can't simply shut off my feelings, even if I'm hurt right now," Tiara confessed, and Saphine agreed.
"Yes, it's the same with me, but some punishment must be dealt. We can't simply let him get away with that." Saphine said.
"Wouldn't an apology be enough?" Orth asked.
"NO!" Both girls declared, making Orth shrug. He had tried.
…..
°You should apologize. What you did was incredibly tactless.° The human said.
°I did what you told me to do!° Mor complained. °Now they are mad at me, and I don't know why!°
°Because you are a dense, stupid idiot, as I told you already.° The human sighed.
°And I told you to explain it to me!° Mor grumbled.
°The problem was how you said it! It really was no wonder they got mad.° The human explained, exasperated.
°I was simply honest.° Mor countered.
°… to a fault.° The human added.
…..
After Mor had waited about an hour, he tried to return, but Clare didn't let him in this time. Instead, she sent him away again, and Mor decided to try apologizing the next day. After he spent a restless night, he tried speaking to Tiara and Saphine, but every time he saw them and tried talking, they would give him a disappointed look, huff, and leave.
°What is up with them now?!° Mor asked after multiple of those happenstances.
°If I had to guess. Punishment for your brainless actions, and a light one.° The human guessed.
°What do you mean by light one?° Mor asked.
°They could slap you every time they saw you.° The human offered.

°I see, but what can I do?° Mor asked.
°Well, an apology would require them to listen to you, meaning you would need to think of something else or use the second option.° The human said.
°Second option?° Mor asked.
° As far as I can see, you're in no position to start a relationship with either one, right? Or, more accurately, with the bodyguard duty and all, you don't think it's the right time.° The human began, and Mor nodded.
°So, use the present situation and let them ignore you until they get bored with it. BUT this could have repercussions for the future.°
°Which repercussions?° Mor asked.
°Well, worst case, they won't ever talk with you again.° The human said.
°I don't want to lose friends, but maybe it would be for the best, because with me, they wouldn't have a bright future.° Mor mused.
°And that's why they are mad at you. You think you know what's best for them without respecting their feelings,'° The human said.
°You're right but think about it.° Mor said. °Saphine is the first daughter of the Sapphire family and, therefore, probably has an influential fiance already. On the other hand, Tiara is part of the royal family, and my duty is to protect them, not court them.° Mor said.
°Yeah, that's true. Still, you shouldn't have been so blunt and explained a bit better, ° the human said.
°I know that now.° Mor agreed.
°Well, whatever you decide to do now, it's your decision to make. Either try to make up and let the girls give their affection to you, or you use their punishment to distance yourself, with the danger of hurting or angering them more.° The human stated.
°I think the second option might be the better one. I have given Dino enough problems. Adding a wedding with a high noble girl to that list would be too much.° Mor answered.
°But wouldn't it be just like with your parents? Wasn't your mother a noble herself?° The human questioned.
°Not exactly, because Mother was not of the highest noble families or the royal one. She simply was a very strong lesser noble. It's not the same.° Mor stated.
°True enough. So, which one would you like to date?° The human asked.
°Where did that come from?° Mor asked.
°You said you couldn't add it to the list, meaning you are interested, ° the human stated.
°Well, yes, I am. There's no sense in hiding it.° Mor confessed.
°But you can't decide. Well, there would be a third option. You wouldn't trouble Dino and could have a relationship with one of them, ° the human continued.
°Which would be?° Mor asked.
°Use the I.O.U.. Dino would have an explanation for why a commoner can marry a high noble girl, and you would get the girl.° The human explained.
°I forgot about that!° Mor exclaimed, then shook his head. °It wouldn't be fair, and it somehow feels wrong to me. Also, I promised Snow that I would visit her after I finished school, and making them wait for my decision is something I don't want them to have to do.°
°I understand, well time to be the bad boy then.° The human stated.
….
Tiara and Saphiene were pissed. At first, Mor tried to talk to them, but soon, he stopped and seemingly gave up. He still stayed close, mainly to Tiara, but he didn't make an effort to apologize anymore.
"What's wrong with him!" Tiara complained.
"Maybe he accepted this new situation?" Clare offered.
"That's not how this should have worked!" Saphine grumbled.
"Well, either you stop your "punishment" and talk to him again, or you accept this situation," Clare said.
But both girls were much too emotional to make that decision right now. Still, they would have to make that decision on their own. Clare could only stand by and support them afterward.
