Chapter 4: Decesion
In the state of Arsus Family. In the Living room…
Lucas’ parents were at the couch on the left while Aria’s parents were at the right. And finally Lucas himself was at the center of the two while Aria is still clutching his right arm.
“So Dad… What is happening exactly?” Lucas narrowed his eyes as he tried to remove Aria’s grip onto his arm in which Aria pouted cutely.
“Well since me and John are sworn brothers, we decided that you and Aria should get engaged and then your marriage will also symbolize the alliance between the two cities. So when somebody wants threatens us they will surely think twice if they want to confront the joint forces of the two cities.” Drake grinned as he patted Lucas’ head lovingly.
“Well… I guess its too early for us to get married but if it is only engagement then its ok.” Lucas smiled bitterly. He thought that if he will get married then his freedom would be limited. He didn’t want to rush everything, he wants to adventure and travel so marrying can wait until he is old enough.
“oh right. Earlier when you were about to battle Jack, I was afraid that you will be injured again but when I was about to stop you I noticed that you seem very confident when you faced Jack so I didn’t stop you two and watched your battle. But as the battle went on, I was greatly surprised that you my son became a 1-star practitioner and held your ground as you defeated a 2-star practitioner!” Drake laughed and his laughter was filled with delight. He estimated that his son will break-through after 2 years of time but it is earlier than what he expected.
“So Lucas what is the color of your Soul Flame?” Alice immediately asked Lucas. She was sure that if Lucas can fight a cultivator which is higher than him, he must have at least a violet or a red soul flame. But she knew that Lucas was not an average cultivator. He came from the ball of fire that day that is why she is very curious on Lucas’ soul flame.
“uhh mom can we talk about it tomorrow? I still feel tired and my body is still aching.” Lucas made a pained expression. His earlier battle made his body ache because he just made a breakthrough and didn’t get accustomed in using his Spirit power efficiently.
“oh ok, its pretty normal to experience that. You just broke-through and then immediately battle a cultivator whose spirit power is higher than you. You should first get accustomed to your spirit power first then after that, you can easily wield its power without straining your body. So a simple rest will suffice.” Drake explained to his son.
“Well then dad, mom, uncle John and aunt Aurora, I will take now my leave.” Lucas bowed and turned around his body and leave.
“Oh and by the way Lucas, get up early tomorrow. We have to go somewhere.” Drake smilingly said to Lucas.
Lucas turned and only nodded in response. And then walk away silently.
When Lucas is out of sight, John laughed,” Seems like my son-in-law is quite capable. His future is immeasurable!”
Drake sighed, “Yes it is. But once someone embarks the path of soul cultivation then he is bound to encounter hardships and many life-and-death situations but this is only normal but what I am afraid off is someone might found out who he really is.”
“Don’t worry, I know that Lucas won’t bring himself trouble unless his loved ones are on danger.” Alice said softly. She knew Lucas since childhood so she understand Lucas’ personality the most.
“Ahh I hope so… Lucas it is about time you go learn the world.” Drake sighed as he waved his hand and a glowing brown paper appeared.
“What is that Drake?” John asked curiously.
“This is a letter to our old friend, the headmaster of a certain academy.” Drake smiled bitterly having remembered something.
“You mean… you will enroll Lucas in that hell-like academy?!” John gasped as he confirmed the content of the letter and the seal below it.
“Yes. From now on, he should rely on his own power. In that school, all students are cut off from the outside world and not even their parents can help them that is why I want Lucas to train there. At first I rejected the idea of him training there but now… the situation that is about to arise tells me that it is the best choice.” Drake said solemnly and unwillingness. He may be hated by his son after what he is about to do but it is also for his own son’s good.
Hearing this, Alice’s face is covered with fear and worry but the John and Aurora’s face has a look of confusion.
Aurora couldn’t understand and asked, ”What situation?”
Alice looked at Aurora and sighed, “The saints from the Imperial City once again began to investigate. They must have found some trace about the ball of fire that day.”
“Them again? But I hope they won’t find anything.” John said with a deep sigh having remembered after once battling one of the saints but was forced to a standstill. He couldn’t help breaking cold sweat but fortunately they wore mask that day so the saint couldn’t discern their true appearance or else they won’t be living care freely today.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
“It is all up to Lucas. If he can reach the level of our old friend in that Academy then I can be at ease.” Drake smiled.
“I hope so but that old friend of ours is very complicated. I remember that she has a daughter that is only a year younger than Lucas but she immediately enrolled her into her Academy. That old friend of ours must have a loose screw.” John shook his head with a bitter laugh.
“Yeah but we can’t deny the fact that her daughter is also talented but not so talented as my son.” Drake smiled as he praised Lucas.
“Hmph! My daughter is also talented but I wont enroll her to that hell-like school. Who knows what will my daughter will suffer after staying there for just one year. I simply can’t imagine!” John laughed bitterly.
“Well after two months of time I will take Lucas there but for the meantime I will help him in his training.” Drake smiled satisfactorily. His son is very unique and mysterious. In his childhood, he showed interest in soul cultivation and was innately gifted. Drake couldn’t help but smile as he made the right choice that day when they battled to death with one of the saint just to protect Lucas.

After Lucas leaved the living room. He fastened his pace towards his room and after that he locked his room.
Lucas sat down in his bed smiling, “Hahaha, I never thought my soul flame was this strong already despite battling early without having accustomed to it.”
Having experienced a battle between a cultivator, his blood boiled with excitement and his heart couldn’t calm down.
“And now that I broke-through, I can now access the Soul Art pavilion and Weapon Pavilion!” His smile grew even more and his face flushed with anticipation about what will he choose in there.
“Now that I broke-through I first need a Foundation Soul Scripture. This is needed for the path of practice. Having this will make cultivation faster than aimlessly cultivating without a Foundation Soul Sctipture. This type of Soul Art is considered to be rare and only powerful clan and powerful academies are in possession of this Soul Arts. That is why not many people has high cultivation. ” Having read so many books, Lucas’ knowledge was far beyond than any individual with the same age as his.
“Hahh…. Well I should first relax and tomorrow I will continue my training diligently.” Lucas smiled. He then threw himself to his bed as he slowly drift in the world of dreams.

On the other hand, in a certain dark forest, where you constantly hear howls that make your hair stood up. There is a young girl leisurely strolling in the midst of the dark eerie night. She had a blood red long sword strapped in her back. She had waist-length silver hair, blue crystal-like eyes and fair skin that when someone sees her, they will immediately think that a goddess has descended, but that imagination shattered due to her cold eyes, blood red long sword and bloodthirsty air that she constantly emits. Their image of a goddess was replaced by an angel of death that when just looking in her cold eyes can cause your soul to directly leave your body.
The young girl abruptly came to a stop as she looked over the distance. She unsheathed her blood red long sword and pointed her it in front of her. She slashed it in the air making a sharp blade –like wind causing the nearby trees to be cut in half. After she made that movement, a whimpering sound rose in the air. The girl followed the sound and a blood red wolf came in her line of vision. It was crawling in the ground with a heavy injury made by the blade-like wind.
After eyeing the wolf, the girl let out a deep sigh, “Ahhh…. Its just a regular beast.” Her voice was cold yet seemed soft and gentle. She sheathed back her sword then came in front of the wolf then kicked it mercilessly causing the wolf to let out another whimpering sound before finally dying.
“Hmph…. Mom said this training ground can help my soul improve that’s is why I joined this hell-like academy but this isn’t a training ground, it’s more like a battlefield!” The girl complained in a low voice.
“Hunting magical beast for their soul gem is indeed the easiest method to raise one’s cultivation but it is also the most dangerous one.” The girl shook her head as she walked further in the dark eerie forest until she was out of sight.

Sorry bout this short chapter.. I didn’t have a personal laptop or computer (I only borrowed from my friends when they don’t use it) and I got many things that I needed to handle in school so I didn’t have enough time to make a chapter for this story but still, I won’t drop the story. I only post chapters without a regular or definite interval due to many issues and problems.
And by the way, thank you for reading!
