Chapter 3: Fiancée’ ?!!

Lucas went to the market and as usual, it was bustling with people. Many can be heard voicing out their products like fish, vegetables, weapons, armors and even Soul Arts but it is only at Rank 1 (Lowest). Soul Arts are ranks by lowest to highest: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
As soon as Lucas entered the gates of the market, many people who recognized Lucas began to greet him and even gave him some of their products. As why does this happen? Because Lucas’ parents were very benevolent and they treated the people of the city kindly. They are also very kind and treated the people who doesn’t have the ability to cultivate the same.
Lucas accepted the products and also returned their greetings kindly. He bid his farewell to them and walked towards the meeting place between him and Aria.
As Lucas neared their meeting place, he saw a girl with a snow-white skin, long golden hair and crimson red eyes coupled with her black-white dress. This girl was Aria. But currently, she is sitting on a bench surrounded by young boys with the same age as her. Aria wore a disgusted expression as the boys try to talk to her.
‘Aii… This girl is too beautiful and also powerful. She already broke through and became a 2 star practitioner.. No wonder those boys are trying to talk to her.’ Lucas sighed but when the leader of the boys strode forward, his expression changed.
Lucas recognized the boy, he is Jack Vertoz from Hallobus City. He is 2 star practitioner and also the son of the Lord of Hallobus City named Raz Vertoz. Lucas’ father and Jack’s father have enmity between them so Lucas didn’t feel too good seeing this person.
“Hey now Aria, why the hell are you hanging out with that Lucas? He doesn’t even become a 1 star practitioner yet.” Jack smirked as he said to Aria.
“Hmph! You don’t have the right to tell me whom I am going to hang out with!” Aria snorted as she look away from Jack.
Seeing Aria spoke like that to him, Jack couldn’t help but move forward to grab Aria’s hand. But at the same time when Jack was about to touch Aria, Lucas’ body appeared like ghost between them. “Hey Aria, Sorry for making you wait.”
Aria was startled at the sudden appearance of Lucas, her eyes were filled with delight as she stood up and immediately went forward to meet him. But Jack frowned at Lucas, because seeing the girl he had taken a liking to go to Lucas and talking to him intimately made his eyes burned with anger and envy.
“What do we have here? Hmm… Ah it’s Lucas!! Im sorry that I didn’t recognize you immediately, because you are not even worth recognizing!” Jack and the boys behind his back laughed loudly and their laughter was filled with mockery. They knew that Lucas doesn’t even broke through to become a 1 star practitioner.
“Let’s go Aria.. We shouldn’t socialize with this kind of people.” Lucas spoke coldly as he didn’t mind what Jack and the others had said. He grabbed Aria’s hand in which Aria blushed slightly and began to walk away.
Seeing them walk away, Jack ordered the boys behind his back to block Lucas’ path. They quickly surrounded Lucas and Aria. Aria’s hand trembled slightly because they seem to be trapped and she was afraid that Lucas might be injured again if the boys will attack him.
“Now now Lucas! Why are you leaving? Come on let’s play first and have some fun.” Jack fisted his hand and began to walk towards Lucas.
Lucas know Jack’s intentions and Lucas know that Jack clearly doesn’t intend to let them go so Lucas could only helplessly sigh as he unwillingly let go of Aria’s hand. Lucas’ face showed no fear but only calmness that can’t be exuded with his age. He also intends to try the power of his soul flame so he used this chance to try out whether his Soul flame can be considered good or bad. Lucas wasted no words and kicked the ground as he dashed forward to meet Jack.
Jack was astonished at how Lucas acted and he revealed a smile full of disdain. He knew that Lucas doesn’t even broke through so Jack considered Lucas’ action as a suicide attempt.
Jack then swung his right fist that contained Spirit Power at Lucas. At first, Lucas didn’t know whether to clash head-on with Jack but for the sake of his Soul flame, he still decided to clash head-on with Jack. As they neared, Lucas also used his right fist to intercept Jack’s incoming fist.
He saw Lucas also swung his fist to intercept his own and then laughed madly,” Hahaha! Do you think that you can use your tiny strength to prevent me from getting what I want!” Jack then used more Spirit power to reinforce his punch but Lucas didn’t falter as he felt the spirit power pouring into Jack’s fist . Lucas just fearlessly swung his fist to intercept Jack’s punch that contained tremendous Spirit power.
When Aria saw Lucas fearlessly intercepting Jack’s fist, she couldn’t help but shout, “Lucas! No!” But it’s useless. The two still charged forward as if they didn’t hear Aria’s shout. When Lucas was a meter away from Jack, he also poured his spirit power at his fist and he was astonished to discover that his fist felt like it can turn a boulder into dust.
As their fists collided, it seemed like two stones were colliding at each other. It even caused the stone path beneath them to crack. Jack retreated 3 steps backward with a trembling hand but he saw Lucas only took 1 step back and his calm expression didn’t waver in the slightest.
His eyes were filled with disbelief as he discovered that Lucas didn’t even suffer any injuries. And he also didn’t dare believe that Lucas only took 1 step backward. His eyes showed even more disbelief when Lucas released his Spirit power. Lucas now emanated a Spirit power of 1 star practitioner!
“Y- You?! You broke through!” Jack pointed at Lucas. Jack believed that Lucas doesn’t have the ability to cultivate because he never fights back whenever he is bullied or beaten. But the events that occurred today made what he believed wrong.
“Uhh… yeah a while ago.” Lucas indifferently said as he slowly feel the Spirit power coursing into every part of his body. He felt the golden soul flame merging into his every blood vessels and bones. He even felt his body was light as feather and they also were brimming with unique power.
When they clashed earlier, Lucas thought that after their fists collided he would be severely injured but his thoughts were wrong, instead, Jack was clearly at disadvantage when they clashed head-on. Lucas now believed that his Soul Flame was a gift from the heavens.
Meanwhile, Aria’s eyes widened in disbelief. He still remembered that Lucas, the boy she always protected when he is bullied was now a 1 star practitioner. She was happy for him but her happiness was cut off by Jack’s next action.

“Hmph!! I don’t believe that I can’t beat a mere 1 star practitioner!” Jack roared as he once again used more spirit power and threw a punch at Lucas. But Lucas only raised his slender white hand seemingly trying to block Jack’s punch.
Jack’s punch met with Lucas’ palm and when it collided, Jack once again retreated 4 steps but Lucas didn’t even retreat half a step!
“Impossible!” Jack eyes turned red and then ordered the boys to attack Lucas. Jack knew that fighting Lucas one-on-one will let him suffer miserably so he ordered the boys to attack Lucas simultaneously. He believed that with many people striking Lucas at once, Lucas won’t be able to fight back.
But before they could move, they heard a gentle yet powerful voice, “Hmph! Who dares to cause trouble at my territory?!”. A man with White red robe and Black hair appeared within their sight. The man emanated a domineering aura and boundless Spirit pressure, the surrounding boys felt their minds went blank as they feel the Spirit power of the man, their spirit power couldn’t withstand the Spirit pressure causing them to kneel and some even collapsed unconsciously.
Jack knew the man, the man was an 8-star Master and he was none other than Lucas’ father: Drake Arsus!
“Lord Drake.. This is-“ But before Jack can even finish, Drake’s voice infused with Spirit Power erupted.
“Enough of your insolence! I saw everything with my own eyes! Leave at once! And if I see you causing trouble again, Hmph! You wont be able to return to your house with a face.” Drake barked at Jack.
After hearing Drake, Jack face paled and immediately led all of his friends to leave the place at once.
After they disappeared in the distance, two figures could be seen hurrying over to their place. It was Aria’s father, John Strega and Aria’s mother, Aurora Strega.
Aurora hurriedly strode forward to hug Aria, ”Aria! Are you ok?! Are you hurt?” She looked up and down at her daughter but was unable to find any injuries.
“Mom I’m ok.” Aria said in a gentle tone as she hugged her mother.
As Lucas saw it, he suddenly remembered her mother earlier in the morning when they heard Lucas screamed.
‘Hahhh…. Are all parents today so overly protective?’ Lucas said in his mind with a sigh. He looked at his right hand which was used to intercept Jack’s punch and then he again slowly feel his Spirit power all over his body. The feeling he felt was very refreshing as if you were born again.
“Hmm.. Good thing Lucas also didn’t suffer any injuries.” Aria’s father said as he inspected Lucas.
“Hey John! Go mind your daughter! Leave my son to me!” Drake walked towards Lucas.
“Why? He will still become my son so I also want to know if he is alright or something.” John looked at Drake then at Lucas. John smiled at Lucas then turned his back and went to see his daughter.
“Uhh… Dad… What did Lord John mean by going to be his son?” Lucas asked Drake with a nervous expression. He felt a bad premonition about the statement of Aria’s father.
“The business I told you about earlier morning was about the engagement between you and Aria.” Drake looked at Lucas with a helpless face.
Hearing his father’s words, Lucas’ mind went blank and he was unable to comprehend what his father said. He felt his mind began to grow dizzy and his soul flame flickered violently as if it was being blown by the wind. Then Lucas slowly collapsed on the ground unconsciously.

Lucas regained his consciousness and as he opened his eyes,he felt his entire body ache like hell! He stared at the celling which is familiar to him.
“Ahh! Im in my room… So its only a dream…Hahh!! Nevermind… I should better get up and prepare for my training. Its already late though, I bet father would be very angry at me…” But as Lucas was about to get up, he felt something soft and warm feeling in his chest. He looked at his chest and there he discovered that the soft and warm feeling was actually Aria!
‘So it really wasn’t a Dream?! All of it really happened?!’ Lucas shouted nervously in his mind unable to think what will he do in this kind of situation.
“Lucas! Are you awake?!” The door suddenly opened and a figure hurriedly went inside. It was Lucas’ mother, Alice. But currently she is staring at Lucas with a shocked expression.
Seeing his mother stare, Lucas sweated nervously and when he was about to talk, Aria suddenly woke up. Aria looked at Lucas, who was also looking at her and with a radiant smile, she immediately threw herself at Lucas.
“You really did make me worry!” Aria hugged Lucas tightly, seemingly unwilling to let Lucas go.
Seeing the scenes unfold infront of her eyes, Alice stared blankly, “Ah! Sorry for disturbing you Lucas!” Alice immediately left the room with a grin.
‘The hell?!’ Lucas was shocked beyond belief and was unable to comprehend what was exactly happening!

Sorry for the late chapter.
Im busy for school and many projects and exams and etc. Its very frustrating but I still hold on just to have my allowances :p. Anyway, I hope you like the chapter and if there are any grammatical errors, please do tell so I can correct my mistakes..
