Yamato Takahashi stood in front of the mirror, brushing his short, black hair. he smirked as he touched his faced, the thought of 'pure prefection' crossed his mind as he tugged on his white button up shirt and adjusted his black tie. He smirked at his reflection again before hearing his little sister, Kaede, yell through his door, "Yamato, will you hurry up already? We're going to be late and Tomoko will be mad!"
Yamato gave a sigh before touching his forehead in exasperation, 'Of course Tomoko, as my childhood friend, would be waiting for me. I, as the self-aware main character, have-'
"Bro, can you hold off on the internal monologue until we actually get to school?" Kaede shouted. He turned to open the door to his room, revealing his little sister, Kaede Takahashi. She stood shorter than him, only coming to his shoulder. Her black hair pulled into a low ponytail, a cute red ribbon tied around it. Her dark brown eyes narrowed slightly and she quickly turned on her heels.
"Finally!" She exclaimed as she makes her way down the stairs. "You know you won't have enough time to eat and make it to school on time."
Yamoto shook his head, 'Once again,' he thought, 'my little sister is underestimating my role.'
She stood by the door, her backpack and shoes on as her brother made his way downstairs and towards the kitchen. She rose an eyebrow and shook her head before glancing at the clock in the hall. She then peered into the kitchen to see her brother making toast...
Kaede felt a migraine coming on in that exact moment.

Why was her brother like this?
Why did he believe that the world revolved around him and his shallow desires?
She sighed and decided that if she stuck around here she would definitely be late and she couldn't be bothered to wait any longer so she left without so much as saying goodbye. She grabbed her bike and started pedaling to school.
Maybe by the time her brother got to school, he would be a functional person with realistic ideals and an actual brain.
'Oh,' Kaeda thought, breathing out a deep sigh, 'who am I kidding?'
It goes without saying that Kaeda Yamato had given up on being able to have a normal brother.

At Reitaku High School, Kaeda came across Tomoko Goto, her brother's childhood friend. Her red-orange hair tied up in two short twintails. Tomoko narrowed her dark amber eyes as she saw her approach. Kaede sighed as she quickly accosted by the red head who seemed to be blushing, but, in reality, was due to her high body temperature and even shorter temper.
"Well?" She exclaimed, less out of worry and more out of irration. Kaeda looked at her and shrugged before saying, "He wanted to make some toast."
Tomoko rubbed the bridge of her nose while mumbling. Kaeda looked around for a bit before noticing a figure running in the distance. She tapped the red head's shoulder before pointing to the figure, Tomoko looked up and sighed.
"Have fun Goto." She said as she walked through the gate.
"Oh, screw off Takahashi." She said as she flipped the younger Takahashi off before turning her attention to the eldest. She huffed and crossed her arms before exclaiming, "Are you always going to be late, you idiot?"
Kaede flinched, wondering what type of chaos her brother could cause at school today.
'Thank God we're not in the same year.' She thought as she walked into the school. Silently hoping that her older brother wouldn't embarrass her today...
'On second thought,' she thinks as she tapped her head against the shoe lockers in resignation. "I should be praying he gets shocked by lightning.'
