Chapter 02

-Looks like the x-ray machine is poorly regulated, it is creatin a image too clear. - I hear the doctor saying. So I reply:

-No my bones are that are too dense, too much calcium does that to the x-ray.

-Seriously?

-Yeah. Every time my bones are X-rayed the doctors go all nuts over something wrong on the machine, but it is just my high absorption rate of radiation. By the way, no broken bones right?

-No broken bones, also no contusion on the brain. Nothing wrong as far as we can determinate. Just rest and the pain should go away. Are you sure you don’t want some light painkillers?

-Yes, I sure I don’t need it. It’s not hurting all that much.

-You just need to wait the 24 hour and you can go home.

-Thanks for everything doctor.

-Your welcome.

Nasc is then helped on a wheelchair by another nurse and goes to a room. He then speaks:

-Aysha is still there?

-Who?

-She came with me on the ambulance.

-I’m going to check if she is still in the waiting area.

She leaves after helping Nasc on the bed and checking he is confortable. Coming back 95 seconds later, no, no, I shouldn’t count down the seconds. Coming back with Aysha he smiles a little. She waited for me; damn I should get rid of this silly smile plastered all over my face. Crap there is no helping it, she will think I’m weird, but there really is no helping it.

-Hey. – She says timidly. So cute, slightly rose checks, not knowing what really to say, wondering why she is here. No, no, stop my mental Jedi tricks here. I should speak something:

-Hey, you waited for me, thank you.

-I have a couple hours to kill so I was gonna window shop but I don’t really like to do it and then I saw you. It would be better helping you out them doing anything else and them, you asked for them to let me come. So I end up waiting for you.

-Thank you, either way.

The back of her mind nudges a little and she says:

-Why did you lied to the paramedics?

-How so? – I say narrowing my eyes.

-You said that you fall from the top of the tree but you fell from much higher you just hit the top of the tree after falling from a building.

-Are you sure?

-I saw you.

-Well what would they want to do to me if they knew from how high I had fallen?

-No fallen, but jumped.

-Yeah, jumped, still the question remains. No, now even more now.

-Well they would want to know your mental state, right?

-Exactly. Why would I want that? 72 hours on a white room?

-That is not why you led them on. There is something fishy in here.

-You sound like a reporter. –After a brief pause- I’m just private, my business are my own and nobody else’s. And I not blowing you off, it’s just I don’t like to spread around all about me. Let’s change the subject. Do you have a boyfriend? – Seen her blush I think, she is so cute blushing and I’m so stupid, I’m in Korea their costumes here are different. In a low voice I hear her:

-No, I don’t have a boyfriend. – She them notices my hand right before she is going to say something. – Ohh, you…

I look at my hand knowing what she saw there. A ring, on the left ring finger. Damn, what will she think?

-It is not what you think.

She them narrow her eyes a little and says:

-Ohh, really, how can I have misinterpreted that? It’s pretty clear you are hitting on me and that ring has a pretty clear meaning. – Nasc looks away and clears his throat after a surge of emotion hits him.

-I’m not married, I’m a widow. – The last words she would have ever expected to hear. Then she feels uncomfortable and blurts out:

-I’m sorry I had no idea…- interrupted by his hand in a position suggesting that she stops.

-You didn’t know, no need to feel uncomfortable. I should have taken it out before, but I fell before I remember of doing it.

-No you jumped.

-Yeah, I jumped.

-Can I ask what happened?

-That is something I would like to keep private if I can. It’s already on the past, I came in here and it’s time for a new life.

-That’s the attitude. – She then sees him taking the ring and bending it in a 8 shape. Even though normally she would have regarded it as thoughtless the look on his face while he is doing it clearly shows it’s not. He is saying good bye. The ambient brightens a little when he says in a more cherry mood:

-Until what time can you stay here?

-I have another 20 minutes before I leave to make sure I don’t get late, I got some papers to deliver.

 -That is great.

They talk for a while about plenty of things so Nasc gets a better fell on how this world rolls. She doesn’t remember to ask anything else about his jump and soon they are saying they good byes. Nasc says:

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

-Bye them, I really appreciate your interest in helping me and coming all this way.

-Nahh, it was my pleasure to company you. But now you will have to wait another 20 something hours here, and I got my life get back to.

-Nope I got myself another 20 and something seconds. – I see Nasc moving to the window he looks down and alarmed I speak:

-Don’t worry. - He open the window gives a second look and climbs out supported by his arms on the window and feet on the wall outside. I got close and try to grab him but he is already jumping. He goes straight for a 10 feet fence and I gasp but he lands and just says:

-See ya. - Turning around he does a back flip and fall on the sidewalk. Relieve floods her. She keeps looking and he soon is dance walking. Really, he is crazy. I wish that had been for me he probably just having an adrenaline rush. She leaves the room and sees the nurses going to room. Thinking back he didn’t pay the hospital bills, and didn’t really fill out any paper work. A smile cracks on her face, he is a naught boy. I will definitely discover what his deal is. Considering that he contacts her. I’m sure he will, I don’t have any base to say that but I feel like he will. She then leaves the hospital calling a cab so she can pass on her work. Now that she thinks about it she realizes something very weird, he was on a hospital gown when he was laid down but he was changed when he jumped to the street and she didn’t notice him changing. How the hell didn’t I notice him changing?

Nice girl. I will seek her out in a couple days first I need to get some money, set up a nice place to live, study how this world works well there is plenty to do first sell this ring so I can get some pocket change. That should be about 100.000 won enough for one or three days. Then I just need to pass through a cafe. Quickly selling the ring in the first “gold for cash” place he sees. I find a café, getting inside lift the wallet of the man in his front on the line. I say while pulling the money. We trade all needed and I go toward a computer. Putting all on my pocket I get ready to work. I check the market for the biggest enterprises, the rising ones, the failing ones, the banks, the price of the commodities in the world and soon I get understand enough to start playing a little. I start by hacking the bank getting some cash on a new account that will be set on the card I just lifted. On the web site of the bank I take a little look at the coding of how it works, I improve slightly the security, do things more efficiently and in general save then a lot of money. In about a year their investment will pay off. I keep doing it for a bunch of big corporations. Soon I got a fat bank account. I take half of it and invest in the most efficient way I can, together with the investments is going a program that will check some basics and will reinvest the money when it is needed for a very efficient way to increasing my capital. Programed along is a sub-routine that will return the investments made by the corporations and banks to the rightful owners. Nope, I did not steal, I just borrowed a little.

I spend 22 minutes in the computer, faster the expected. Now let’s go to a tech shop. Gonna need a nice computer. I spend a little of my money and get a cell phone and a computer and a couple other things even a VR that it seems to be getting big. It may be just Hype but it is selling well. The tech then asks:

-Now, all we need is the address to deliver your things.

-The address… - I pat my pockets looking for a paper I know is not there. – Damn, I don’t have the address with me but I can call you in an hour and give you.

-Ok, no problem. Call me on this phone and I will pass on to the right person.

-Thank you for your help. - I say pulling the cellphone of its box. Activating it quickly, I research the closest real-estate agent. I call a lawyer and take a cab there with the rest of the money and in no time after showing that I’m ready to buy a house I’m going to my choice. A quick look around is all I need. Another call and I let the tech know my address. The lawyer gets on the house and I ask a little privacy.

-Hey, Mister Nasc. You seem to be in much need of a lawyer, what can I do for you?

-Well I got in this country recently and I am looking to settle here. I may need a lawyer in a more regular basis but I’m sure I need one now here is my info. - Nasc delivers an envelope with his information in it. – I have some 5 Billion Won in my account and about the same in investments so I will need to pay the taxes, manage it and spend it. This may raise a lot in the future and you will manage it if you want. I will pay double your normal rates but I expect complete secrecy.

-Forgive me my asking but, is this not anything of the illegal nature? – the lawyer asks worried he may lose the job but not wanting to get in something unsavory

-No need to worry on that front. Nothing against the law. You will find all the relevant information in the envelope. I want the papers for this house, speak with the real-estate agent and coordinate a full payment for the house upfront. No insurance, no anything, just the house and with the money in the account of the envelope. Just get back here when you have the papers to sign. – slightly disconcerted he answers

-Well, are you sure…- The lawyer trails off.

-I do not want to presume, that you will just do it, but are the terms satisfactory?

-Yes sir. But I don’t even know your name.

-Ho, I’m so forgetful of social protocols, my name is Nasc. Pleased to meet you, and yours?

-Hyok.

-So the terms are satisfactory and sure this is the house I want. No need for anything else. Will you take care of this for me?

-Ok. I will be most pleased to do this for you.

-Bring whatever I need to sign so you can get your money.

-Oh, of course.
