In the calming silence of space, it was ominously quiet as the planet slowly spun. However, the silence in the thermosphere, the second-highest layer of the atmosphere, was shattered by a giant Chaos Blast that, due to no other noises being present, was extremely loud. The blast quickly died down, revealing the one who created the Chaos Blast was Super Shadow, whose red parts of his quills and arm/leg stripes were a darker shade of red. Super Sonic teleported next to Shadow using Chaos Control.

"Geez Shadow, you could've warned me you were going to do that, you almost made me crash into the moon," Sonic stated while itching his left ear. Shadow scoffed as he straightened out his back.

"My apologies for assuming the fastest-thing-alive would be capable of dodging my most obviously telegraphed attack.". Sonic was slightly annoyed by Shadow's comment and squinted his eyes. Sonic was about to respond to Shadow's comment but was interrupted by Shadow getting into a fighting stance.

Sonic, realising what Shadow was looking at, quickly looked in the same direction as Shadow and got into his fighting stance. A looming figure slowly descend and stopped a few meters above the duo. Sonic and Shadow started to channel chaos energy into their fists before firing a combined Chaos Spear.

A few hours ago, Sonic let out a yawn as he sat up from his bed, which was a bed built into the branch of a large tree. Sonic, whose quills and fur were a slightly darker shade of blue along with him being slightly taller, heard someone calling him from the ground. He leaned over the tree and spotted Cream, who was now nine and slightly taller, waving at him. Sonic quickly jumped out of bed, made his bed, put on his shoes, which red parts were now cyan, and raced down the side of the tree, at supersonic speed. He stopped next to Cream.

"Morning, Cream. What brings you here today to grace me with your presence?" Sonic asked while doing his signature two-fingered salute. Cream giggled at the way Sonic phrased his question.

"Mister Sonic, you're being silly," Cream replied. Sonic scratched the back of his left ear as Cream's expression got slightly more serious, getting Sonic's attention.

"Is something wrong?" Sonic asked. Cream shook her head.

"I'm not sure. Tails called me and asked me to get you since you weren't answering your phone." Cream explained. Sonic looked confused in response to Cream's explanation. He quickly raced up his tree and back down, now holding his phone. Sonic quickly checked his phone and realised he had twenty missed calls from Tails.

"Seems I had set to vibrate only." Sonic awkwardly explained before making his phone disappear. Cream crossed her arms.

"Mister Sonic, how could you forget to turn your ringtone on again?" Cream asked while fake disappointedly shaking her head. Sonic tried to think of an excuse but couldn't think of one.

"Sorry...". Sonic slouched his head slightly. Cream uncrossed her arms and told him not to worry.

"We should probably get going before Tails gets really mad.". Cream agreed with Sonic and picked up her bag, which Cheese was sleeping in. Sonic crouched down on one knee and offered to carry Cream. Cream climbed onto Sonic's back and he stood back on his feet. Sonic moved one of his feet back before launching himself forwards and racing off. Sonic ran down the path at supersonic speed and hopped over the occasional animal that he came across on the path.

"Say Mister Sonic,". Sonic slowed drastically down before looking at Cream.

"What's up?".

"What did you do to your phone earlier?". Sonic explained that Knuckles learned how to create a pocket dimension using chaos energy and taught him how to do it.

"Mister Sonic!" Cream angerly patted Sonic on the head but couldn't stop herself from laughing at Sonic's dis at Knuckles. The two arrived at the village where Cream lives. Sonic made his way through the village and the two of them waved at the villagers as they walked past them. Cream asked if they could stop by her house before they go to Tails' lab. Sonic nodded and hurried to her house.

Sonic arrived at her house and spotted Vanilla tending to her garden.

"Mama, I'm back.". Vanilla looked up and spotted Cream waving at her.

"Welcome back Cream, it seems you were able to wake up are resident professional sleeper." Vanilla joked. Sonic awkwardly chuckled as Vanilla stood up and walked over to them.

"Come on Vanilla, I wouldn't call myself a professional-.". Sonic was interrupted by Vanilla comparing their heights with her hand.

"It seems you're slightly taller than me now, Sonic.". Sonic wasn't sure what she was trying to imply but just laughed it off.

"So, what brings you back Cream, I remember you telling me you needed to check on Sonic so he could go to Tails' lab?" Vanilla asked. Cream awkwardly placed her hand on the back of her head.

"Hehe, I sort of forgot to take the lunch you make for me..." Cream replied. Vanilla playfully shook her head.

"Cream sweetie, you're getting as bad as Sonic." Vanilla jokingly remarked but with a slightly condescending tone. The two of them awkwardly rubbed the back of their heads and Sonic even apologised for being a bad influence. Vanilla slightly waved her left hand saying she was only kidding and they shouldn't take it so seriously, Cream sighed in relief apon hearing this. Vanilla turned and called for Gemerl. He looked through the window, by the door, of Vanilla's bungalow while holding a hoe.

"Could you fetch the lunch I made for Cream, I think it's still on the kitchen counter.". Gemerl nodded before walking off. The sound of oddly loud metalic footsteps echo throughout Vanilla's house as Gemerl made his way to the kitchen.

"Is he ok?" Sonic asked while whispering to Cream.

"Yeah, he's just getting used to his new legs." Cream explained. Sonic nodded while making an oh noise.

Gemerl eventually exited the house with the lunch box. Gemerl awkwardly and jankerly marched over to the group. He handed the lunch box to Cream.

"Thanks, Gemerl.". Gemerl made an upbeat tune to Cream's appreciation. Cream placed the lunch box in her bag next to Cheese. Sonic and Cream waved goodbye before running off. Vanilla and Gemerl waved goodbye, to Sonic and Cream as they ran off into the distance.

"Well that was a pleasant encounter but I really need to get back to tending my garden.". Vanilla turned around and realised Gemerl was hoeing the next area of her garden. Sonic exited the village and sped back up to supersonic speed. Sonic abruptly stopped at the beginning of a broken bridge, that hung over a massive and deep ravine. Sonic quickly placed Cream on the ground and said he'll be right back. Sonic raced off so quickly that Cream's eyes couldn't keep up with him. After a few seconds, Sonic returned and Cream hopped back onto his back.

"Why'd you go back to the village?". Sonic explained he told the head of the village council that the bridge was broken. Sonic ran back a bit before running and leaping over the large ravine. He landed on the other side and continued running at supersonic speed. Sonic raced down the forest path and eventually exited the forest. They arrived at a beach. Sonic stopped at the edge of the beach. Sonic quickly stretched his legs before placing his hands on the ground, like Olympic sprinters.

"Hold on tight," Sonic said as he started to do a Super Peel Out, the move where Sonic remains stationary and moves his feet so quickly that the after images of his feet create an infinity shape. Cream wrapped her arms around Sonic's chest as tightly as possible, without hurting Sonic. Sonic lunged forwards and created a sonic boom as he launched himself forwards. The sonic boom launched sand and water into the air at high speed as Sonic sprinted across the ocean inbetween the islands of the Angel Archipelago.

Cream excitedly looked around at her surrounding, although they were slightly blurry from how fast Sonic was running past them. She looked into the ocean and spotted a group of aquatic mobians, like jellyfish, dolphins, turtles and even a whale, floating around in the underwater city. Sonic quickly arrived at the central island of the Angel Archipelago and stopped running to shake the water off his shoes. Cream loosened her grip on Sonic as he finished shaking his shoes. Sonic started to run again but only ran at around mach one.

Sonic raced across the open plains of the island and even ran past the abandoned Master Emerald Shrine, which was missing the Master Emerald and slight destroyed. Sonic glanced over at the shrine before somberly sighing. Cream asked if he was ok but he told her he was fine while putting on a smile. Sonic spotted Tails' lab, which was situated inside of a mountain, and raced over to it at mach three.
