Kalos awoke to see the face of the one person he hated the most.
He pushed Saya aside before noticing something.
“You braided my hair again!” Kalos hissed before noticing that she was pointing at something.
Kalos turned to find that his dark device emitting a pale blue glow.
“Oh my goodness!” Kalos said as he hopped onto his feet.
He then grabbed the dark device, revealing a hole that led into the void.
“Hurry up! Close the damned thing.” Kalos said as he happily cradled the dark device.
Saya closed the portal to the void before joining Kalos.
“Oh, how long has it been?” Kalos asked.
“A year, three months, twenty nine days and a couple of hours,” Saya said before Kalos shoved her away.
“Ok, what now?” Saya asked.
“We return to the veiled repository. There, I will craft you your weapon.” Kalos said before his body was pulled into the nothingness as Saya took them to the cave in the chaotic realm.
Kalos ran over to the dark prism he’d created all that time ago and inserted his dark device into the rectangular cut-out near the bottom.
He then summoned Reu and placed it into the dark hollow prism, wherein it hovered.
A low hum could be heard in the cave as Reu started spinning in place.
Multiple blue sparks and arcs of energy could be seen as Reu spun faster and faster.
“I hope you’re ready for this because once this is finished, your son will definitely know you’re up to something,” Kalos said as Reu spun at an indiscernible speed.
Massive blue arcs flew from the device as it worked on Reu.
The cave they were in had been reduced to a crater as the device got infinitely hotter and Reu span infinitely faster.
Then, in the next instant, the chaos world was bathed in a bright blue light which seemingly did no damage.
Kalosýni’s eyes widened as he gazed upon the form of what could be described as the ultimate weapon.
Reu had become far more beautiful and far more deadly than before.
Reality seemingly warped out of fear of coming into contact with the weapon.
Kalos slowly approached Reu and grabbed it by its glorious handle.
Saya stood cautiously behind Kalos as he inspected the weapon. She could've sword she saw four halo's floating around the sword, but she focused on the sword itself.
“Well? Did it work?” Saya asked as Kalos turned to her with hateful eyes.
She slowly backed away as Kalos walked towards her.
“There’s only one way to find out,” Kalos said as he raised Reu before placing it on Saya’s cheek.
He slowly dragged the razor-sharp edge across her soft skin, instantly drawing blood.
“Ah!” Saya sounded before both she and Kalos widened their eyes.
“Yes!” She said as she leapt into Kalosýni’s arms, but he kicked her away before looking at Reu lovingly.
Kalos then charged his entire body before swinging his now god-level Reu towards Saya’s neck at a blinding speed, but his movements were completely stopped as Saya raised her hand.
“Oh no, you don’t,” Saya said as she grabbed Reu and inspected it. Kalos dropped his head with a defeated sigh.
“Can’t say I didn't try,” Kalos said as Saya practised swinging Reu. She was far stronger than Kalos and so her swings were precise and powerful.
“So… can I go home now?” Kalos asked, but Saya’s face twisted as though she was in pain.
Kalos shook his head.
“No! Don’t you even think about it. We had an agreement.” He said.
Saya stopped pacing and looked at Kalos with saddened eyes.
“I just want to make sure that we don’t fail and who better to oversee the final stage of the plan than you?” Saya said, but Kalos didn’t care.
“Send me home.” Kalos said.
Saya lowered her head before raising her hands, enveloping Kalos in the nothingness and sending him hurtling back to his world.
Kalos saw Eslaf Retnec below him as he fell.
“Haha!” Kalos laughed before flying to a hill to the south of Eslaf.
The hill was covered in a mini forest and was just what he needed to do what he’d planned.
He looked around and saw a cave nearby. He ran into the cave before completely freezing.
“Oh no," Kalos said as dread crawled up his spine.
“Shit!” Kalos cursed as he dropped everything he had.
He then took out the pendant from his pocket and placed it on the ground before summing a second Reu.
He looked at it before raising it and stabbing the pendant.
This was the moment fate had led him to.
He didn’t know why, but no matter what he did, he always ended up in this cave at this point in time.
A soft glow filled the cave and Kalos could feel not only space but time as they bent out of shape.
Kalos squeezed Reu’s hilt, even as it heated up incredibly so.
Kalos then felt an incredible amount of pain as something left his body.
Kalosýni’s vision rapidly faded as that something flew away. His body didn’t need it to live, but he definitely needed it to be Kalos.
.
..
Kalos awoke and beheld the void, except he was above it.
He was above all of creation, but he hadn't come all thus way to gawk at the cosmos.
Kalos stabbed at the heart of existence and turned back the hands of time.
He watched as the cosmos shrunk into itself. Eons upon eons of time revealed themselves to Kalos before he found what he was looking for.
Kalos turned Reu clockwise and watched time unravel before him.
In the darkness of the void, were two things. A speck and a woman.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
That woman was a celestial being who slept restlessly as the universe came to be.
Kalos recognized the woman as Saya.
She watched as the universe grew before her, but she showed very little interest in the workings of the cosmos.
But everything changed when she felt a peculiar presence within her.
She was overwhelmed with joy as the presence grew over the duration of several thousand eons.
Saya eventually birthed the presence and she held him tightly while ignoring the universe that had grown around her.
More time passed and Saya found herself growing distant from her child.
Unlike his mother, Anton was very much aware that there was more to the universe than his mother and him.
He eventually started venturing off into the cosmos, often leaving Saya for eons at a time.
Kalos watched as Saya grew fearful. She wondered if the day would come when Anton would no longer return to her.
Saya then realized that she could spend more time with Anton if she followed him and so she did just that.
She descended towards one of the worlds Anton was watching.
Anton ignored her as she wandered on the rather peaceful world, but things took a turn for the worse when Saya accidentally killed one of the planet's inhabitants. Apparently, the beings of that world mistook her for an ancient evil god and so they tried to kill her.
Anton was initially unfazed by her blunder as death was a natural part of life, but what made the situation slightly complicated was Saya’s response.
Kalos paid close attention to their conversation as it took place.
“What did you say?” Anton asked with a raised brow.
“I’m sorry, it's just… I mean, do their lives really matter in the grand scheme of things?” Saya asked.
“Yes, they do. One of them could have had children and those children could have grown up to have more children. A natural life deserves a natural death.” Anton said.
“Mmm… I don’t think so. We’re the only ones that truly matter, right son?” Saya asked as Anton's eyebrows furrowed.
“No mother. There’s more to this universe than just you and I. Look around you and you’ll realise that there is far more beauty in the frailty of life than our perpetuity.” Anton said before leaving his mother yet again.
More time passed.
Saya eventually found herself seeing her son less and less, so she decided to do something that would get Anton’s attention.
Kalos watched as she destroyed a world that was filled with beautiful plant life and animals.
This invoked the wrath of Anton who saw his mother floating atop a broken world.
“Why did you do that?” Anton asked with a mortified expression.
“I wanted to show you just how pointless what you’re doing is. You act like their lives mean anything, but look. Their all dead now, with no consequence-"
Anton grabbed his mother by the throat, stopping her mid-sentence.
“Unhand me right now, Anton,” Saya said, but Anton squeezed even harder.
“Not until you understand that all life is precious,” Anton said.
“And what if I don’t? Are you going to hurt your own mother?” Saya asked before being sent to a realm she didn’t recognize.
“No. You’re going to stay here and think about what I said. Once you realise that all life is precious, then and only then will I set you free.” Anton said as he flew away.
“Firstly, you cannot keep me here and secondly, the only thing that matters to me is you, so you can give up on trying to teach me to value what is essentially dirt,” Saya said.
Anton ignored her before leaving the chaotic realm.
Saya tried following her son but found herself unable to leave.
Kalos watched as she spent an eternity trying to reach her son, but every attempt failed.
That’s when she realized that one would need to rip into the void to travel between worlds.
She eventually left the chaotic realm and found herself on the shores of another world. One that was beautiful and pure.
Saya decided to punish Anton by taking away that which he had begun to value more than his own mother. She destroyed the world only to be sent back into the chaos realm again.
This went on for eons until she found Kalos.
Kalos willed the vision of his world before him and his gaze fell upon the world he lived in.
His heart begged that he check to see if Estella, Keema and Peeta were ok, but he needed to do something else first.
Kalos willed the vision of Silves into his mind and saw what looked like the house he and Raymond once lived in. Well, except that it was burnt.
Kalos looked to his left saw that Estella’s house had also been burnt.
Kalos sighed, or did the celestial equivalent of sighing before doing what felt was right.
He looked at Reu and gently squeezed its hilt.
Kalos stabbed at the world below him and twisted it anti-clockwise, turning back the hands of time.
Kalos watched as the denizens of Silves burnt his home in reverse.
He watched as some them were mercilessly killed by both dark beings and elafriá. He then saw a rather curious trio leave the town in reverse. That trio had also just killed a dreaded man.
Kalos watched keenly as time unfolded before him until he reached the point where he twisted Reu clockwise, allowing time to flow freely.
Kalos then saw the most wonderful sight.
He saw a rather large man as he hammered in the final nail on the door of a certain house that was just up the hill from central Silves.
Next to the man, Kalos saw a beautiful woman, with dark curly hair and beautiful brown eyes.
Kalos trembled as the large man hugged his pregnant wife before helping her enter the house.
The two then spent the next few weeks living together in complete harmony.
Kalos reached out to touch them, but he stopped himself even as what was left of his heart was torn to shreds.
He listened in as the man playfully combed the woman’s hair on a lovely summer evening.
“I’m sorry.” The man said.
“For what?” The woman asked as she rubbed her enlarged belly.
“For getting you into all this. The order. Everything. I just wish that things had turned out differently.” The man said.
“Mmm… ok, you are forgiven.” The woman said with a smile that seemingly lit up the surrounding area.
“Mmm?”
“What? You’re asking for forgiveness, right? Then I forgive you. I know that if I say it’s fine and that you don’t need to apologize, you’ll go on to blame yourself for everything, but I want you to know that I’m ok with everything. Me being with you is worth it all.” The woman said before placing her hand on the man’s cheek.
Kalos then watched as more time passed. The beautiful woman, unfortunately, died during childbirth, but she left the man a rather precious gift.
Kalos saw the man as he diligently raised that looked like a little rascal with messy hair and a goofy smile.
Kalos mimicked that smile as the boy grew older and older.
Kalos then frantically twisted Reu, stopping time as the man scolded the boy for playing with a certain piece of jewellery.
Kalos slowly twisted Reu clockwise and the man threw away the pendant into the forest.
Kalos watched as the stubborn boy went looking for the pendant and just as the boy found it, Kalos stabbed the pendant.
This unfortunately shattered Reu and sent Kalos hurtling back to his time.
.
..
Kalos awoke on the ground with dirt in his mouth.
He then sat on one of the many rocks in the cave before letting out a tired sigh. He then allowed sleep to take him away as he sat in the silence of the cave.
.
..
A loud explosion shook Kalos awake, but he expected it.
He grabbed his things and walked out of the cave to see Eslaf under siege.
“Oh?” Kalos sounded off as he realised that it was partially his fault that Eslaf was swarmed by dark beings and elafriá.
Kalos was about to fly towards the city with a golden heart and help its denizens, but he stood still on the hilltop.
He then summoned his two remaining Reu’s before readying himself for battle.
He charged up his body to imaginable levels as he waited.
That’s when a loud explosion came from in front of him.
There, as the dust settled, Kalos saw a mortified Saya carrying someone in her hands.
“KALOS!” She screamed as she dragged herself up the hill.
“What did you do to us?” Saya asked, her voice laden with hatred.
“How does it feel? To have that which you love be in such a pitiful state?” Kalos asked with a smile.
“If you don’t fix us, I’ll destroy this world!” Saya screamed, but Kalos shrugged his shoulders.
“Do you have the sword I gave you?” Kalos asked.
Saya threw a broken and charred sword on the ground in front of Kalos.
“So you did it! Haha.” Kalos laughed.
“I didn’t know you’d be that stupid! I hoped you were, but I had plans just in case you proved me wrong! Hahaha!” Kalos laughed as he stretched all four of his arms.
“Why did you do this? Now we’re… mortal.” Saya said as her lips trembled.
“Exactly! How does it feel?” Kalos yelled as his eyes vomited hatred towards Saya.
“Life… so fragile and ever so tragic,” Kalos said as he playfully swung his Reu’s, temporarily shifting space and time as he did so.
Saya gently placed her son on the ground before turning to Kalos.
“I’m going to take those swords from you, even if it kills me,” Saya said, but Kalos tilted his head mockingly.
“But think about what I’ll be able to do to Anton when you’re dead. Oh, the wondrous methods of torture I’ve imagined over the past two years.” Kalos said before Saya zapped right in front of him.
Kalos tried to move, but she was still far stronger than he was. So his movements were slower.
Saya tried to grab the Reu in Kalosýni’s left hand but burnt her hands in the process.
She looked at Kalosýni’s face to see that he was still laughing.
Saya walked behind him and ripped off his two extra arms, but even then Kalos continued to laugh.
She then tapped his chest, robbing him of his magic.
Kalos gasped loudly as his hair turned black and his eyes turned brown.
“Hahahaha!” Kalos laughed as his body was assaulted by excruciating pain.
“Fix my son!” Saya yelled before kicking Kalosýni’s arm, shattering all of its bones.
“Ah!” Kalos screamed, but he quickly raised his head as he held on tightly onto both his Reu’s.
“There is no force that will separate me from my father’s sword. Not the brightest of stars nor the darkest of voids. Not even the mighty gods themselves, haha!” Kalos laughed even as his consciousness faded.
Saya then tried using the broken Reu on the ground to cut Kalosýni’s arm, but even though Kalosýni’s flesh tore apart, his arm stayed in place.
“Do you dare to cut the space between spaces?” Kalos said as he clumsily got up.
Saya watched as he made his way toward Anton who lay on the ground.
Saya kicked Kalosýni’s legs, turning his bones into powder, but he kept walking as though he was possessed.
Kalos slowly raised one of his Reu’s above Anton’s head.
Kalos was about to swung his sword downward before a cry stopped him.
“I’m sorry!” Saya said as actual tears fell from her eyes.
“Oh? Then I forgive you.” Kalos said rather casually.
“Really?” Saya asked, but Kalosýni’s eyes glowed red for just a moment before he turned to face Anton.
“But your sins have accumulated in a debt that must be paid. Isn’t that right, Anton?” Kalos asked as Anton opened his eyes.
