Qing shan decided to take a look around the marketplace today. He was considerably rich after scamming the two brats. Of course, he didn't plan to spend it carelessly. No matter how much money he had now it would eventually run out. Which was why he was out here scouting the market and learning more about the economy here. Which businesses were worth investing in? Where was the most optimal location? How were products made and where did they source materials? Supply and demand were the two fundamental aspects of business, but far from the only ones.
"Young master Long! Welcome back, would you like some more dirt?"
"Young Master Long, we have a new batch of rocks!"
"Young Master Long how about some hammers!"
Normally peasants would hardly dare to offer a noble something as mundane as rocks, it could even be considered an insult that could lead to them being imprisoned or worst, but Qing Shan was no ordinary noble. In the months since he transmigrated, he had already made a name for himself not only in school but throughout the town.
The mute too stupid to talk, the retard with too much money, the walking junkyard.
Indeed, he rarely talks unless it was to inquire about something that catches his eyes. He brought everything he could get his hands on, rocks, weeds, even dirt from different sources. He even brought farming tools! What kind of rich young master of a noble family goes around buying hammers and hoes?
A truly eccentric boy.
However, he was actually quite popular among the people even with all his strange quirks. He always tipped the people generously and brought in large amounts. Even lowly servants such as waiters or cooks received enough from him as their monthly payment. Although he usually dressed in rags and constantly smeared with dirt, he was never stringy with people who provided him with goods or services and was always polite regardless of their station or status.
It was a habit he maintained from his previous life. Even as a CEO one must not look down or mistreat those under him.
"Ah, hello Mr. Li, I'd like to buy some sinews, please." It was a surreal sight in any other part of the country, no, perhaps even the continent. A Noble was roaming the marketplace and buying scraps from a butcher? What kind of concept was this? Perhaps if the Long family was paying attention to what Qing Shan was doing, they'd drag him back to kneel in the ancestral hall until his knees were black and blue or beat him until he was confined to bed for a month!
With a bag of sinews and tendons, he went on his way to his next stop.
"Good morning Ms. Shan, did you finish preparing my order?"
"Good morning Young master Long. It's sitting in the back I'll get it for you in a jiffy."

"Here ya go! I'm not sure why you want so much fool's gold though."
With a heave, the enormous bag of pyrite shook the counter. He quickly paid for it and idly chat with the old lady.
"One man's trash is another's treasure as they say. I got some plans in mind for these. Thank you again for finding them for me it must've been hard with such short notice."
"No, thank you for providing my husband and I such work! Now we don't have to worry about the upcoming winter, and with all the money we got, we can send the brats to school. If you need anymore let us know!"
"Of course, I'll make sure to head straight to you Ms. Shan if I ever had a need for more in the future! I still have some errands to run, so please excuse me. Have a wonderful day."
He rolled off towards his next destination with haste.
"You what? I'm sorry I think I must've misheard you, could you repeat that please Young Sir?"
"I want to buy your horses' manure. From now on don't give it away to the farmers or bury it. I want it all gathered in wooden barrels and delivered to my Courtyard at the Long family manor."
"I-I...I don't dare, don't dare. Young Master, please spare me. How could I have the gall to delivery shit to the great Long family home!"
The horse keeper couldn't believe his ears. Was this Young master too bored to be seeking trouble with a lowly servant like him for kicks? He felt like crying and cursing his bad luck today to run into him. Even if he had ten heads it wouldn't be enough for him to survive to offend the Long family in such a way. Not only him, but even his entire family wouldn't be spared from tragedy!
"I'm not asking you to leave it in front of the doorstep. You just need to leave it on the side and my servants will bring it in. Is 5 silvers not enough? How about 8?"
"Please spare me, Young master! I have a family and kids to watch after! Spare me please!"
"..."
Qing Shan had no intention to make things difficult for this young man. He didn't think such a simple transaction would become so troublesome! All he wanted was some shit, why was this man acting like he was trying to get his liver?!
"Ok...How about this? Every month you will collect the manure and my servants will personally retrieve it from here. I'll give you 10 silvers a month."
10 silver was a hefty sum for such an easy task, especially since he was giving it to the farmers whenever they went to town anyway. He was only being paid by the owner 3 silvers and 20 coppers a month! Now he was being offered three times that for something he was already doing regardless! Truly a goose that laid golden eggs! Or rather horses that shat money.
"Of course sir! Rest assured I will gather every dropping diligently without missing a single bit!" Who would say no to easy money?
The horse keeper didn't know, but all across town animal keepers and inn owners got similar deals. It was whispered among the lower class that the Long young master was into scat. Of course, nobody would dare to utter this ridiculous idea out loud for fear of it getting into the ears of the Long family.
If the people truly knew that the enormous amount of money Qing Shan was spending they would probably spat out blood. Young master if you had too much money to burn why don't you send it our way? 5-10 silvers a month? For all the surrounding inns and keepers in the city? Don't mention it's shit, even if you brought the entire horse or farm you would still have plenty left over!
Little did they know, what was a stupid and unprofitable deal in their minds was perfect for Qing Shan. Why? Because buying animals and taking care of them was too troublesome!
The image the people had of Qing Shan was truly a strange boy.
The boy in question was mostly ignorant and indifferent to it though.
Logs of ashwood, planks of oak, sinew and tendons, fool's gold, barrels of shit, just what in the world was our hero planning?
