As they walked out the classroom, the grisly scene that greeted them made their blood run cold. The goblins' mangled bodies and the walls painted with blood formed a macabre tapestry in the once-pristine hallways.
"What on earth happened here?" Ms. Anderson whispered in horror, her gaze shifting from one gruesome sight to another.
One of the students, Sarah, couldn't contain her fear. "This is insane! How is this even possible?"
Ms. Anderson's eyes narrowed as she focused on Light and Lily, who had been outside the classroom during the incident. "Light, did you do this?" she asked, her voice filled with suspicion and disbelief.
Chuck couldn't help but scoff. "There's no way this weakling could've done all this," he muttered, eyeing Light with surprise.
"I didn't do this," Light insisted, stealing a glance at Lily.
Cody smirked and patted Lily on the back. "Well, look at the balls on you," he sneered, trying to charm her with a predatory leer. "Didn't know you could cause this much damage. I might have to keep an eye on you."
Ms. Anderson, however, wasn't convinced that Lily was behind the carnage. As they moved toward the gym, she kept a close eye on Light.
As they drew closer to the gym, more goblin corpses came into view, along with the sickening stench of blood and death. In the halls by the gym, several goblins still stood, ready to attack.
Without hesitation, Mason, Chuck, and Cody leaped into the fray, relishing the chance to do battle with the goblins. Katelyn, however, hung back, her face pale and her hands trembling with fear.
"I don't think I can do this," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
As Light watched the students fight, Ms. Anderson noticed more goblins approaching from behind. "Run!" she yelled, herding the students toward the gym.
As they sprinted away, Light "accidentally" tripped over Cody, sending him sprawling to the ground. "Oops," Light muttered, not bothering to hide his satisfaction as the goblins closed in on the fallen Cody.
"Help me!" Cody screamed, desperation filling his voice as the goblins tore at his flesh. But his pleas went unanswered as the group continued their headlong flight to the gym.
Ms. Anderson had seen Light's actions,
(How can Light do such a thing, a boy once quiet and shy….. it's like his whole personality…suddenly changed. Is it because of the bullying?)
but she kept her thoughts to herself. Instead, she focused on getting the students to safety, her mind racing with worry about Light's true nature.
Mason, Chuck, and Katelyn were visibly shaken by Cody's death, grief etched on their faces as they ran. They couldn't fathom how the situation had spiraled so far out of control.
Upon entering the gym, the group was astonished to find it completely deserted. They hastily barricaded the door to keep the pursuing goblins at bay, allowing them a chance to plan their next move.
"What are we going to do now?!" Chuck exclaimed, his voice laden with panic.
"Are we not going to talk about what happened to Cody?" Mason inquired, his expression grave. "We just left him there. Someone needs to go save him."

Ms. Anderson fixed a steely gaze on Light. "Mason, I don't think he's going to be alive… when I glanced back, he was already being eaten…"
Chuck's anger boiled over, and he punched Light. "It's all your fault! If you weren't such a fucking klutz, Cody would still be alive!"
"Maybe he should've watched where he was running," Light retorted, wiping blood from his lip as he rose to his feet.
"What the hell did you just say?!" Chuck roared, lunging at Light, but Katelyn and Mason held him back.
"It isn't worth it, Chuck! We need to figure out what we are going to do," Katelyn implored.
Ms. Anderson proposed that they split into teams of three and each team should go to their homes to check on their families. They would then regroup at her house. Everyone agreed, and Ms. Anderson wrote down her address for each team.
Mason, Chuck, and Katelyn formed one team, while Light, Lily, and Sarah formed another. The remaining students accompanied their teacher. Before parting ways, Chuck glared at Light: "Don't die unless I'm there to watch." Chuck and Mason shared a cruel laugh, while Katelyn looked worried.
As the groups stealthily made their way out, Lily asked, "So, whose house are we going to first?"
"My house isn't far from here. It'll take about 30 minutes to get there," Sarah replied.
Light furrowed his brow. "Did you guys see any other students besides us escape?"
Lily recalled witnessing some faculty members and possibly a few students fleeing, but her memories were clouded by fear. Light suggested they check the school for any students who might be hiding. Sarah vehemently objected, her fear and paranoia escalating.
Lily tried to comfort her while Light considered how he could expand their group. He pondered how to activate his newfound powers, recalling that they had only manifested when he was enraged. Was anger the key?
Lily interrupted Light's thoughts. "I understand you want to save the other students, but… I think it's best to do what Ms. Anderson said and see if our parents are okay," she said, concern etched on her face.
Light towered over them both. "Do you really think our parents are alive? You've seen what's going on outside. We have to survive and figure out what we can do as a team. Now, Sarah, pull yourself together. Lily, do you have any useful skills?"
Lily looked puzzled. "Like what you have? I don't know. I never thought about it."
"What are you guys talking about? Skills? Light, do you think we could magically have magic skills? This isn't a video game." Sarah said annoyed.
Lily filled Sarah in on Light's mysterious abilities, but Sarah remained skeptical. Despite her doubts, they decided to search the school for other students while the rest checked on their families. Light's determination to save others overshadowed Sarah's concerns, and he urged them to gather their gear and prepare for a fight. They waited until the goblin noises subsided before cautiously removing the barricades and venturing into the campus.
Sarah whispered, "Are we really going to search the whole school? How will we find them?"
Lily responded softly, "It might be tedious, but I wouldn't want anyone else to be in the same situation I was in. If Light hadn't found me, I'd probably be dead by now." She smiled at Light, her gratitude evident.
Light said, "If I hid from those monsters, I would want someone to look for me. I know how they must feel being scared and alone…"
Before Light could finish his sentence, the goblins charged towards him, their eyes gleaming with malice.
With deft movements and calculated strikes, Light fought off the goblins one by one. He utilized his surroundings, using the gym equipment as makeshift barriers and launching surprise attacks. Each swing of his knife was precise, leaving no room for error.
As the fight intensified, Light felt an inexplicable surge within him. It was as if an inner power awakened, amplifying his senses and granting him an uncanny perception of the goblins' movements. He tapped into this newfound strength, swiftly dispatching the remaining foes.
"Demon Lord, Heart Murmur Detection Skill Unlocked," a voice echoed within Light's mind.
A wicked smile crept across Light's face as he realized this newfound skill could aid in locating survivors. Sarah, observing Light's change in demeanor, felt a shiver run down her spine. She whispered to Lily, "Why is he smiling like that, staring off into space? It's creeping me out."
Lily, equally intrigued, replied, "I'm not sure. But look at how skilled he is with that dagger."
Sarah's initial unease began to dissipate, and she acknowledged Light's proficiency. Lily, however, believed they shouldn't leave all the responsibility on Light's shoulders. She whispered, "We need to do more to help him. We can't let Light bear this burden alone."
Silently, they resolved to provide support and share the weight of their mission. Although apprehensive, they understood the importance of their roles. The trio knew they couldn't let fear hinder their potential. They gathered their courage and prepared to face the unknown horrors lurking within the school.
