"This is interesting." An old man laying down inside a carriage was reading a book as he said.
This old man was Fu Xia.
Fu Xia bought this book from the latest city that he passed which was the Black Forging City.
This city was filled with master forgers and could even be counted as one of the best places for forging in the entire Silver Moon Country's almost 54.000 km territory.
Fu Xia was reading the book named Forging Path.
It talked about how the path of forging needs steadiness, passion, and patience. It was like a poem, like advice an expert would give.
Fu Xia didn't only get one book from the Black Forging City. He got around ten books.
He learned about forging and materials basics from a reliable source which was the Black Forging City's Library, so it benefited the old man.
Fu Xia heard faint noises coming closer to his carriage.
A golden carriage with two white horses came out of the forest filled with trees and moved fastly on the green flatlands.
As the golden carriage came into view it turned towards the carriage of the old man.
“This smells like trouble.” Fu Xia had his guesses on the situation and fastly stood up, then whipped the horses. The carriage suddenly started moving fast compared to its peaceful and slow rhythm in the past few days.
The ordinary carriage that the old man was in went straight and left the golden carriage behind itself.
But the golden carriage pursued behind the carriage.
“Yes, this is trouble.” Fu Xia said nodding to himself.
“Hey, You in the carriage I want you to stop and help us we are in a difficult situation we don't have food left! No water left either!” A shout came from the golden carriage.
“What does that have to do with me?” Fu Xia didn't even listen as he whipped the horses more intensely, and the horses neighed and moved faster.
“Damnit.” A woman said inside the golden carriage.
Just when the woman said this, a group of men who wore silver armor and rode silver horses came out of the forest and started chasing the golden carriage.
“Princess! We cannot let you go any further away!” The guy leading the group of people said in a horse.
“Princess will get away from you people's grasp!” A blonde young boy jumped out of the golden carriage as he landed slowly moving towards the horsed people.
“Zhen Jin Don't! Peng Li stop the carriage!” The big purple-eyed princess said to her servant.
“Sorry my princess, it will be the best for Zhen Jin to handle this job.” The servant called Peng Li said while shaking his head.
“Yes princess, we have to let lord Zhen Jin handle this.” Another man in the carriage said.
“No, No! We can't leave without him you can't do this to me!” Big purple-eyed princess said as she tried to jump off the carriage.
“No, we cannot let you lady” A half beastmen prevented the big purple-eyed princess from jumping off.
“You don't have to worry my fiance! I will not hesitate to give my life away for you!” The blonde boy called Zhen Jin said as the carriage got further away from him.
“Nooooo!” The beautiful big purple-eyed princess shouted one last time unwillingly as no one in the golden carriage could see the blonde boy anymore.
The blonde young man then transformed parts of him into different kinds of beasts and jumped towards the horde of people.
'I'm sorry fiance, I didn't say my secret to you I thought you would've hated me I know this is a selfish thought but I had to. I didn't want you and anyone in the carriage to hate me and see me as a beast... but it doesn't matter what I am because even though I know you used me for your benefits, I still love you and I will give my life away for you!'
The blonde boy thought as he fought with the horde of people.
At first, he killed a lot of the silver armored men however with time the advantage of the numbers showed itself.
The blonde boy couldn't reach all of them and more and more silver armored people were coming to reinforce.
Then the boy gave his life for a fiance that he will never see again. He let his conciseness enter the endless darkness with no regret.
“Fiance?” Fu Xia thought in the carriage for a while.
An elegant figure came to Fu Xia's mind uncontrollably with a young boy and a young girl standing next to them.
Then Fu Xia started whipping the horses harder than ever, poor horses got whipped due to something they didn't even do.
“It's all because of you! You killed him! Why didn't you help him when you could!” The beautiful purple-eyed girl shouted towards Fu Xia in the carriage.
“No need to speak lady, you are not in a good mood right now“ The half beastmen stopped the purple-eyed girl from speaking any longer.
A few minutes passed as the golden carriage choose a different path and wasn't pursuing the ordinary carriage anymore.
Then the ordinary carriage slowed down and started moving like it used to do.
Fu Xia sighed and took the book Forging Path as he continued reading it.
The figures of the woman and the two children slowly faded in Fu Xia's mind as Fu Xia concentrated on reading the book...
A middle-aged man with dark eyes and dark hair was sitting cross-legged in a room that was being lightened by an oil lamp.
The room was ordinary and didn't have anything special it wasn't too big either.
“I now will only have to mix my Personal Qi and Sense to make it my Spiritual Sense and I will break through to the Qi Nourishment Realm” The middle-aged man mumbled.
“And after that, I will be able to protect my family from more mishaps occurring then we will live a long and peaceful life together...” The middle-aged man said smilingly but the smile slowly faded away.
“The life would be beautiful with my fiance and my children safe together with me I will protect them for my life, then why don't I feel... good.” The middle-aged man said.
“A beautiful fiance with our children growing up then we are dying...” The middle-aged man mumbled, but he didn't feel the happiness that he thought he is supposed to feel.
“Dying, Is it about dying?. Am I that much of a coward, what will happen after death anyway, isn't it just nothing?” The middle-aged man said then just stood up.
“None of this matters, the only thing that matters is my family.” The middle-aged man said then walked outside.
As the middle-aged man walked outside he saw an elegant lady standing there with her belly extremely big.
With one look one could determine that the elegant lady was pregnant.
“Darling Xia, look, she is kicking me.” The elegant middle-aged woman said as she was laughing and holding her belly.
“Wait, darling why are you here? Weren't you supposed to be in the Coal Fire City?” Middle-aged Fu Xia asked.
“Oh, about that...” The woman said then the scenery in front of the middle-aged Fu Xia suddenly changed.
An elegant lady and two children. On the floor with all three of their heads cut down. Blood was everywhere as its smell would make a grown man puke. The horrified expression on the children and the elegant woman's face would cause people nightmares.
The middle-aged Fu Xia had two swords in his hands that were stained with blood, as he was crying and moaning, his pitiful look would give one sadness by itself.
As the middle-aged Fu Xia was crying and moaning in his sea of conciseness a second blank red image showed up.
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
“Ugh!” An old man suddenly woke up in a carriage holding a book named Forging Path.
The old man's right thumb was already on the last page of the book, the book was finished.
“It was all a dream?” The old man called Fu Xia looked around, the sun was slowly rising.
The horses of the carriage were both sleeping, there was mostly eaten hay and fruit in front of them. And of course, water.
The carriage was in a deserted place and unless one knew the place there wouldn't be anyone visiting here.
“I should start moving again.” Fu Xia said as he got off the carriage and washed his face with the extra water at the back of the carriage.
Fu Xia took a breath of the cold air and looked at the sky before the sunrise.
There were dark clouds with a dark blue sky.
Fu Xia went back inside the carriage and the horses were awakened by his movements. A horse needed around three hours of sleep so there were no problems.
The carriage moved out of the forest and went back to the main greenery flatland.
There weren't any spiritual beasts on this land they were wiped out by humans. The reason was that the spiritual beasts here weren't too strong and humans liked to hunt them for money.
There weren't only humans but humans conquered all of it due to them helping each other.
There were a lot of humans, a bit too much.
The world was big and Fu Xia had no idea how big it was. However, Fu Xia knew the world was big.
Fu Xia was just staying in a country. There were continents, empires, and even dynasties above them.
It was even said that the strongest dynasty was where humans reached the peak of cultivation and other dynasties couldn't reach their glory at all.
'If you have the chance, look at the vast world that I couldn't. Pursue your dreams, don't be like me. Don't stutter and persevere. I had regrets you shouldn't.'
“I have the chance, I will look at the vast world not only for myself but for you as well. I will pursue my dreams, not only for myself but for you as well. I will not stutter and will persevere, not only for myself but for you as well. I will not have any regrets, not only for myself but for you as well.” Fu Xia slowly mumbled.
“I have the chance, I have the chance.” Fu Xia repeated to himself and looked at the red-black book behind the carriage. And took it into his backpack as he said:
“I have to take risks, I can't end up like Kong Cai.”
Fu Xia wasn't a life expert however in his 93 years of life, he already understood that if one didn't take risks they wouldn't reach far.
It's been two hours since Fu Xia woke up and the sun was already on the horizon. The flatland that Fu Xia goes through was made by workers who cut the trees in the way. This wasn't the only road however it was a deserted one for sure.
It has been around a month since Fu Xia started his journey and the goal of Fu Xia's journey was to reach the Yun Clan and destroy it.
Of course, this wasn't Fu Xia's real goal. Fu Xia didn't care about the Yun Clan. Fu Xia didn't even plan on going back to the Academy if he could.
Almost all of Fu Xia's friends from the Burning Star Academy were dead.
Kong Cai was an exception but he would be gone as Fu Xia ends this mission. So there was no point in even finishing the mission.
Fu Xia went around 5.000km so he was far away from the academy. Fu Xia wasn't planning on not resting.
“There should be a large city named White Light City close to the White Star Clan.” Fu Xia said as he looked at the map in his hands.
White Star Clan was a 3rd rate clan. Its power was not something Fu Xia could comprehend.
After riding in the deserted green lands for more than thirty minutes Fu Xia saw two kids in the middle of the green land.
One of them was a girl and the other was a boy, they were both in a pitiful state.
“Please help us!” The older girl said to Fu Xia. The little girl's face was covered with tears and her hair was sticking to her face.
Fu Xia stopped the carriage and got out of it by jumping then asked:
“What are your kids doing here?”
“Please help me...” The younger boy said as he looked lifeless.
“Please, please help, help him he is my younger brother!” The older girl said once more.
“Okay, okay.” Fu Xia said calmly as he checked the boy laying on the ground.
The boy was thirsty, hungry, and tired that was all.
“Do you kids know where the White Light City is?” After a few seconds of thinking, Fu Xia said.
“Yes, yes I know it but please help my younger brother!” The girl said.
“Okay, okay, I will help your brother but you will have to tell me the location of the White Light City.” Fu Xia said as he came closer to the boy and shouted:
“Heal Finger 1st Move-Mind Finger”
Fu Xia then shouted and pointed his right index finger at the boy's head. A green light appeared on Fu Xia's finger as it went into the boy's mind.
The boy's lifeless face became relaxed.
Fu Xia went back to the carriage, took some food and water, and said“Eat and drink you should be fine afterward.”
The boy was really hungry. He ate the food given to him by Fu Xia which was dried meat fast.
A few minutes passed and the boy ate the dried meat and drank the water given to him by Fu Xia.
“Um, if there is can I get food as well?
The girl asked much more calmly. Obviously, she was relaxed after her younger brother got saved.
“Okay.” Fu Xia said as he took more dried meat.
Fu Xia bought a lot of dried meat from the latest city so there were no problems of giving some for going to White Light City.
“So, what are you kids doing here.” Fu Xia asked.
“We normally stayed in White Light city. However, one day our family got destroyed in a war and we became war slaves seven years ago. At that time my younger brother was just an infant.” The girl said.
“Today, we were thrown out of the city because we offended a young master. However, we didn't even do anything... we only walked in front of him.” The girl said with teary eyes.
“The only thing said to us was that we were unlucky for young masters bad attitude today.” The boy said, clear sadness in his tone.
“Oh no.” Fu Xia said sadly.
“Anyways, you kids know where the White Light City is right?” Fu Xia then asked.
“Ah, yes we know. But the white city should be thirty minutes away in that direction.” The girl pointed at a location.
“We walked and walked till we came here but we were both hungry even before coming here so it was a bad experience.” The girl added sadly.
“Okay, then I will be going. Do you want to come with me to the White Light City?” Fu Xia asked.
“We will go.” The boy said without hesitating.
“Yes, we will like to go mister.” The young girl said and nodded.
“Aren't you both afraid of the young master?” Fu Xia asked.
“We are however there was a lady who always took care of us. And we can't go anywhere else even if we wanted to.” The young girl said both determined and helpless.
“Then let's go.” Fu Xia said and walked back to his carriage.
Fu Xia's carriage wasn't too big however it could hold two extra kids.
Then the kids pointed the direction of the White Light City to Fu Xia as they went there.
Fu Xia whipped the horses a lot so that they will reach faster Fu Xia wanted to get to the White Light City fast. Fu Xia was angry that he couldn't reach the White Light City after so long.
Kids were a bit terrified and sad about the whipping of Fu Xia.
The horses neighed and moved fast.
A few minutes passed then more and more people started to show up.
And five minutes later they reached the city walls.
City walls were mighty and huge. They had a terrifying formation around them. The place was bustling and a crowd of people was around. The noise here was a lot.
Old, young, male, female, noble, ordinary... There was every kind of people here.
The sun's cool nature was gone long ago and the huge crowd just made the temperature worse.
'The road that Blue Sand Academy gave me was really deserted and hidden'
Fu Xia couldn't help but praise the Blue Sand Academy.
There was a sea of people here while at the road that Blue Sand Academy gave Fu Xia, there were few people including the kids.
“Mister, thank you. If I can I will one day pay my gratitude to you.” The boy said as he went down the carriage and bowed. The girl did the same.
“You kids can get in?” Fu Xia asked.
“Yes, we can you don't have to worry about us, mister. Thank you for getting us here. We can't tell our gratitude to you.” The girl said.
“Then goodbye to you both.” Fu Xia said.
“Goodbye, mister.” The girl said as she took the hand of her younger brother and ran towards the city door.
“I should get in as well. ” Fu Xia said and rode his carriage slowly towards the city doors in the crowd.
“Hey old man! Why are you taking so much space here?” A man said.
“Yea, Yea! Why are you taking so much space while people are walking?“ And a woman said.
“You should just get out of here!” And an old man said.
“Is there a rule that prevents me from using a carriage?” Fu Xia retorted.
“No, but there is no rule that says you can take our space as well!” A boy replied from the crowd.
“Yes, there is not a rule like that!”
“There is no rule that says you can take up our space!”
More and more people agreed with the boy.
But this had nothing to do with the argument. They didn't say such things to a noble's carriage but they said it to Fu Xia's because it was ordinary and no one wanted their place took.
“We are gonna do it the hard way...” Fu Xia said silently to himself then released his Qi.
People who were speaking just now didn't speak anymore.
A peak Qi Nourishment realm expert, even though it was not too much in the White Light City it was still not something to trifle with.
Then Fu Xia's road to the city door in the crowd went quite peacefully this time with no trouble.
“To get into the city, you need to give 10.000 cin.” The guard in front of the huge door said.
“Okay.” Fu Xia replied and took 10.000 cin from his pocket, then gave it to the city guard, and entered the city. Fu Xia left his carriage to the guards.
White Light City was enormous.
Fu Xia learned about the White Light City on a book guide that he took from a guilt 3.000km back and asked the two kids some questions as well.
The White Light City consisted of 9 layers. 4 of them being the Outer City, 4 of them being the Inner City and the last one in the most center of the city was Core City.
The Core City was only for the authorities of the White Light City and the 4 Outer Cities was open to the public as long as one had enough money.
To enter the 4 Inner Cities one needed to get a Citizen Card from the 4th layer's Authority Hall.
Fu Xia's plan wasn't going to the Inner City. He just went to an information shop called Truth Shop.
“Hey sir. What information do you want? We are the best information shop in the whole Outer City.” A young lady said to Fu Xia.
The shop wasn't too big but it was comfortable and there were quite a few people here.
“I wanna know which place is the best tavern in the Outer City.” Fu Xia said.
“It will cost 5.000 cin it is a 1st-star information.” The young lady said.
“Okay.” Fu Xia agreed and paid.
“It is Old Tavern in the 7th section of the 1st outer city. It is not only cheap but has pretty good and comfortable service.” The young lady said.
“Mhm.” Fu Xia nodded and went out of the shop.
Fu Xia slowly passed around the circle called the 1st outer city 1st section, 2nd section, 3rd section....
Until he reached the 7th section and went inside a tavern.
“Hi, how can we help you, sir?” A young boy said to Fu Xia.
“I want to hire a room and stay here.” Fu Xia replied.
“How long would you want to stay here and on which floor. There are four floors here with different services with the 1st floor being the cheapest and the 4th being the most expensive.” The young boy said.
“How much would it take to stay here for one month? ” Fu Xia asked.
“It would take 12.000 cin for the first floor 24.000 cin for the second floor 48.000 cin for the third floor and 96.000 cin for the fourth floor.” The young boy replied.
“Then give me the first floor for one week.” Fu Xia said smilingly.
“Yes, sir.” The young boy smiled back but it was a bit bitter.
After a few minutes of waiting the young boy gave a card to Fu Xia and said:
“It will be room No 54. Enjoy your service sir.”
“Mhm.” Fu Xia nodded and took the card then started moving towards the stairs.
After walking upwards for around ten seconds Fu Xia reached the first floor and found room No 54 in a large number of doors.
Opened the door with the card that the young boy gave him and went inside.
The room was medium-sized. It was a bit smaller than the residence he had back in Blue Sand Academy.
There was a large bed, a door that leads to the balcony, and a bathroom.
Fu Xia sat on the bed and laid his backpack on the bed. Then opened the backpack and looked at the red-black book inside it.
“I have the chance. I should cherish it.” Fu Xia said slowly.
