A Surprised Kitty Cat and a angry dragon.
Inside Slyfer was drifting in a sea of black where there once was blinding light. His consciousness is fading fast along with his life. The black magic corrupts it, turning the light black as it spreads. The Dragons are roaring at Slyfer to move to wake up to do something Alric joined them not understanding where the other voices came from. “I am coming boy hold on by the Sky mother if you die on me pink thing I will kill you!”
It was absurd but he said it anyway.Slyfer starts to stir at the familiar voice and a faint light starts to flicker in the darkness fighting it back. But it is small, too small to make a difference. “Fight hatchling! Fight it you are Slyfer are you not you are the chosen one are you not! You carry the hopes of all magic races wake up damn you!” The light grows suddenly and expands inch by inch Slyfer stirs again and lets out his own deep growl of defiance.
“I will not die too many things unfinished too many things I don’t know.” An absurd thought crossed his mind as he thought of breasts. “I haven’t even touched any. Or felt the warmth of a woman.”
This gives him the last push he needs and he forces his way up out of the darkness. Outside Aldowin was staring at nothing. A Vague sense of danger crossed his mind as he though of what Alric would do to everyone present but he pushed it aside. “I don’t care I deserve it my Estund is dead.”
“Slyfer! Look Aldowin!” Aldowin looked and his heart jumped color was starting to return to his students face. Like a miracle the darkness was being pushed back. Everyone held their breath as they saw it hoping' praying. The darkness disappears completely and then suddenly...... Slyfer sits up gasping for breath like a person would after nearly drowning. He only utteres one word after his abrupt gasp.
“Breasts.”
Then he slumps back down closing his eyes.Aldowins face brakes into a smile that threatens to split his entire face in half. “He lives haha!” The smile only lasts for a split second then he clenches his teeth as he thinks of Great Spear.
“Where is Great Spear? That dog! If he is not dead already we must finish it now!” Aldowin glances at the others around him and stops when his gaze falls on Old Sun who is balling his hands into fists until his fingers turn white. “He escaped Aldowin along with two or three riders from his clan.” Aldowin steps forward putting his hand on his bloody sword pommel his gaze shooting daggers at the old man.
Old Sun’s Face changes at this his eyes widen before he can control himself again. “I have sent scouts after them.” Says Old sun hurriedly as if explaining himself. Only now does Aldowin's gaze turn to his student again and the rest could see as he visibly relaxed however his hand stayed on the sword pommel. “We cannot let him escape Old Sun, he must be killed otherwise there will be no end of the trouble that all of you will experience!” Old Sun’s hand goes to his sword at Aldowin's words his brows forming a straight line.
“Are you threatening me?” Aldowin tares his gaze from Slyfer. His eyes growing wide with surprise. “Heavens no! Do you think you alone will have trouble? My life may already be forfeit because of what happened today. Do you really believe that my student has no allies, no power, haha we are nothing but ants.” Aldowins tone and words make everyone look at Slyfer. Worry clearly etched on their faces. In the end Old Sun can only sigh. “Whats done is done, no changing that now.”
The rest of the day is spent cremating the dead and tending to the wounded. A small joint camp was set up not far from where the skirmish happened but at least far enough to not smell the blood. Old Sun is sitting in his tent along with Pathfinder and Jade. The tent is filled with a gloomy atmosphere. “How many did we lose?” Asks the old man. “The sun Clan only lost twenty elves and thirteen wolves.” Replies Jade plonking down on a cushion completely spent. Pathfinder already sitting down. Makes a pained face. “We lost over half of our forces. If only I took command earlier. If only…”
Old Sun holds up his hand. “What happened, happened and it won’t help having these thoughts. You can only learn from this experience and try to better yourself.”
Pathfinder only nods but Old Sun knows he is still blaming himself. “Good. He shows remorse for losing men it will only make him a better leader.”
That night the camp is quiet except for the singing of death songs along with the crackle of fires as they burn their dead.
Aldowin is sitting in a tent next to the still unconscious Slyfer staring vacantly as he listens to the songs. “Was I wrong? Was it too early for us to leave the valley? I shouldn’t have left him alone. I should have gone with him.” He then glances at Slyfer. It looks like the boy had aged more in the last month then he had during the previous sixteen years. Not in the way he looked of coursed but in terms of experience.
He then turns his gaze to Trisha who had fallen asleep next to Slyfer as they had sat waiting. She was curled up in a ball sleeping on her arms which reminded Aldowin of a cat. Trisha’s actions surprised Aldowin since he thought she hated Slyfer. Fira looked in frequently during the day but she was worried about her father and stayed with him most of the time.
A Scratch on the tent draws Aldowin's attention from his thinking. “Come in.” His voice wakes Trisha as well. She yaws as she sits up and cutely rub her eyes with the back of her hands. “Prince Pathfinder, is there anything you need?” Pathfinder bows in respect for the first time. “Slyfer is not the only one that has gained experience.”
The young prince looks at Aldowin then Trisha who is now sitting up looking at him with her golden eyes flickering in the firelight.
“I… I wanted to come and thank Trisha for today if… if it wasn’t for her I would have completely failed at commanding the troops.” Aldowin sees the look in the Prince’s eyes and he decides to go find something to eat so they could talk.
Patfinder sits down and the two talk for a while. Slyfer mumbles in his sleep occasionally. Trisha suddenly feels an arm slide around her waist and it pull her back with a jerk! “Nyaa!” She shouts in surprise. She struggles anger and fear welling up readying to attack whoever ambushed her.
She was about to kick out behind her. When she feels herself being tightly embraced against a warm strong body. Slyfer’s sleepy voice then rings right next to her ear. “Wow Shcree you have grown so big and soft.” His voice so close to her and the soft breathing tickling her neck made her get goosebumps all over. Her cheeks instantly turn red. Her heart races and she goes goes stock still like a rabbit caught by a tiger that’s about to be eaten!
Pathfinder jumps up clenching his fists at his sides. “What are you doing beast! Unhand my Trisha!” The reply he gets to this is definitely not expected. “Shcree why is your tail so long!” Slyfers hand somehow found her tail and was playing with it. Pulling it sofly whilst letting it slide through his hand. Trisha’s eyes go wild with shock. She spasms then goes limp unable to move a muscle. “UUuu don’t. Aah.” She moans softly as her eyes go misty. Pathfinder by now is shaking as he points while basically jumping up and down while he does. “Let her go!” Jumping forward he grabs Slyfers arm and tries to pull it but it is like trying to move a mountain!
Slyfer makes an annoyed sound and pushes him away. Pathfinder feels his feet leave the earth as his wind is knocked out his mouth opens making a perfect O shape as he folds double. He touches the ground two meters later with his butt first. The force throws his legs over his head and he nearly rolls backwards. He stops with in an awkward position his posterior pointing at the sky knees next to his head.
Trisha takes the opportunity to escape Slyfer’s grasp. Still breathing heavily she rolls away and gets up on all fours scampering out of the tent and comes to a stand still next to where Pathfinder is now getting up livid with anger. Clenching his fists he stomps towards the tent. “Stop.” Pathfinder doesn’t hear Trisha’s weak voice so she tries again gathering her strength. “Stop! I think... “gasp gasp “He did it in his sleep.”
Pathfinder forces himself to stop and turns to her brows furrowed. “Are you sure?” She nods her cheeks going pink while she wraps her arms around herself remembering and missing the feeling of Slyfer's arms around her. Pathfinder still makes to go toward the tent but Trisha jumps in-front of him her eyes flashing with anger. "If you touch him I will not forgive you, you will have to go through me to get to him! Aldowin appears around a tent with a fruit in his hand. He stops and eyes the situation. Pathfinder abruptly turns around and storms off still clenching his fists.
“Uuh what just happened?” Trisha jumps at hearing Aldowins voice suddenly behind her, her tail going straight as an arrow. Realizing it is Aldowin she blushes and mumbles. “Nothing.” While looking at the ground to avoid his inquisitive gaze. “Hmpf. Young people.” He shakes his head and heads for the tent taking another bite of his fruit.
The next morning one of the scouts return looking tired and haggard. Old Sun immediately summons her to the main tent. Jade and Pathfinder are also present waiting anxiously for her to report. The scout takes big gulps of water and then starts. “We chased them all through yesterday and halfway through the night. Pack leader then sent me back to report so I have no idea what happened after that. But the direction they were heading in was towards Atlantia. If the scouts don’t catch them before they reach the city. They will definitely make it there before the main army does.
Aldowin who had just entered the tent overhears and frowns starting to rub his chin in a pensive posture.
“They probably have help in the capital that is why they are heading there.” Everyone turns to Aldowin as he speaks. Old Sun nods. “It makes the most sense otherwise they would not have acted this way. The best we can do now is join with the main camp and make our way there. Let the scouts continue following them but do not engage in a fight what we need now is information. I want to know who is helping them and why. Dismissed.”
The scout bows and exits the tent, quickly giving the orders to a replacement rider that will go to catch up with the rest.
Aldowin sighs biting his lip. “I fear we will encounter a lot of problems when we reach the capital.” Old Sun nods, his face grave. They stand in silence for a minute before a shout from outside brakes it. “The king has awakened!” Cheers go up as they celebrate the slither of good news.
Pathfinder’s face brakes out in a smile for the first time in two days. Old Sun sighs in relief. Its not long before a messenger arrives. My Lords the king summons you to his tent.
The party leaves headed towards the tent.
Slyfer is still fast asleep while all of this is happening. Trisha is sitting in a corner as far as possible from him hugging her knees and humming a nursery rhyme she had learned as a child. She hears the shout that the king has awakened and stops her humming while she listens for any other news. “Please don’t stop.” A Raspy voice says. She looks at Slyfer and sees him leaning on one of his elbows looking at her with his blue eyes. Cheeks turning pink she huffs. “Aldowin has been worried about you beast.” Slyfer frowns at what she called him but he shrugs it off a second later. “How long have I been asleep?” He asked while laying down again. “Two days.”
“And the king is he…. Is he okay?”
She nods and rests her chin on one of her knees eyeing him with her amber gaze. “They announced a few minutes ago that he woke up.”
Relief washes through Slyfer. “Good. That’s good.” He sighed and wanted to stand up but stopped as he feels he is completely butt naked. Face blank he turns to Trisha. “Kitty Cat… Why am I naked… did you-“
Basically glowing with embarrassment she doesn't allow he him to finish his sentence. “No I did not! The healers undressed you! Hmpf Pervert!” Saying that she jumps up tail swishing wildly with anger. Stomping her foot she turns and wants to exit the tent.
"Wait!" She stops and turns around. Slyfer's eyes follows her tail as it swishes from side to side lazily. "Can, can i feel it?" She looks at him confused. "Feel what?" Slyfer looks at his hands making groping movements. "Your tail? I want to feel your tail!" For a second what he says doesn't register. But when it does she basically starts to glow! "Why do you want to feel it? Its ugly and, and...." Slyfer nearly stands up but remembers his state. "Its not ugly! Please let me feel it?"
She goes quiet and for a second he thinks she is going to leave but she steps forward tentavily memories swim in her mind of how she was teased and ridiculed for having a tail how the high elves shunned her. She closes her eyes and turns around her tail slowly moving nervously. Slyfer cant help but stare at it. It almost hypnotizes him as it moves. The tail is white with black stripes almost as long as his arm. "How could they call her ugly for this? It is amazing!"
He softly takes it in his hand and Trisha jerks at his touch. Like a frightened hare her heart beats faster and faster expecting him to start teasing and call her names. "It is beautiful and amazing! So soft!" He lets his hand run all the way to the base. Her back arches and she lets out the cutest sound Slyfer has ever heard! "Uuuuah!! Stop....stop" She whispers faintly her voice husky and wants to pull away.
Slyfer takes her arm and pulls her over and she falls on his lap. With no strength she can do nothing but sit obediently. He lets her tail go and holds her to his chest. She can hear his heart beat and it is almost as fast as hers! "Trisha, I don't know what you went through when you lived with the high elves but make me a promise?" She looks up at him her eyes still husky lips parted. He feels the urge to kiss her but he does not want to force such things. She may hate him again.
"Promise me you wont hide your tail anymore. You are beautiful! Every part of you and I love your tail!
As if the tail can hear him it curls around his body. She thinks back to when she had trusted a boy who also asked to feel her tail and then how he hurt her. The others that were waiting nearby also jumped out and started calling her names.
throwing her with stones. Since that day she had always hid her tail. She thought she was ugly, unwanted an abomination. But what Slyfer just said brakes through that and she starts crying in his arms.
He brushes her hair as she does then whispers again. "You are beautiful okay and if anyone tells you differently they are fools. If anyone does it again you just come and tell me." They sat still for a while as she cried out all the hurt and sorrow. She stops and look up at him again her big eyes shining with Slyfer doesn't know what! Her cheeks go pink and he feels something start to stir under the blanket! Evidently she does too! She jumps up practically glowing with embarresment.
"You, you, you beast!" Slyfer cant help smiling at her cute actions which makes it worse! She turns around and stalks out of the tent.
“It wasnt on purpose! I couldn't help it you are just so cute!" He doesn't get a reply but he can sense her outside. Having the tent for himself Slyfer gets up grunting as he does. “I feel so stiff.” Stretching he starts looking around for a change of clothes. Only to find none much to his irritation. “Great, just great. Kitty cat are you still outside!” He calls a little hopeful that she didn’t stomp all the way to the other side of camp. “Yes I am still here.” Comes her voice from outside.
“Could you do me a favor? There doesn’t seem to be any clothes around?” He hears an exasperated sigh from outside.
“Pretty please kitty cat?”
“On one condition!”
“Sure, your wish is my command my lady.”
“Stop calling me kitty cat?” Her voice goes a little softer as she says it.
Slyfer is quiet then a crooked smile appears on his face. “Mmmm… only if you stop calling me Beast. Do we have a deal or do I have to start chasing you around naked?”
Her face goes pale at the threat. She subconsciously rubs her tail. Pink starting to appear on her cheeks. “Fine, we have a deal!”
Slyfer’s crooked smile turns into a full one. “Great. I think Jade should be able to help with clothes.” Saying this he sits down throwing the sleeping furs over himself to at least cover up in case someone enters unannounced.
“My King.” Old Sun bows to the pale faced king. The king waves his hand indicating he doesn’t care about decorum at the moment.
“What exactly happened?” Old Sun stands up straight fire burning in his eyes. “Great Spear cast magic at you and nearly killed you if not for Slyfer you would have died two days ago.”
Creasing his brow the King tries to remember and vague images tells him Old Sun is telling the truth. “Did you manage to catch Great Spear?”
“No after attacking you with his fowl magic he immediately escaped.” Old Sun then continues to tell the King everything that happened. By the time he is finished the Kings jaw is clenched tightly grinding his teeth.
“The Spear clan will be dissolved as soon as we reach the main army. I want this group moving today! We cant risk them reporting before we do!”
“As you wish my King.” A Guard then walks in. “My Lord Lady Trisha wishes to speak to Lady Jade, she says Slyfer has woken up.” Everyone turns to the guard while Aldowin quickly excuses himself. Jade exits with him.

Trisha nods at Jade in greeting. “Slyfer has woken up and he needs…. Clothes.” The last part she utters under her breath once again reaching a new level of blushing.
Amused Jade smiles at the girl even though Jade looks younger then her she is already an old lady compared to them. “I am sure we can make a plan I will go ask around.”
Not waiting for a reply Jade heads of into camp. Trisha trots to catch up to Aldowin who has already passed them with a brisk walk directly heading to Slyfer’s tent.
Slyfer who has been sitting in the tent utterly bored out of his mind starts exploring his body with his mind. To his surprise he has once again grown stronger his muscle and bones are denser. On the outside he looks the same but inside is a whole different story. His life force is still multicolored and in a far off corner is a small black flame he shudders as he sees it fear gripping his heart. “A Remnant of what nearly killed me. I am not untouchable.”
The thought scares him. When a person is young they rarely think about death like it’s a far off thing that can never happen to them. They feel immortal in their ignorance but something like this is a good reminder that anyone at anytime can lose their life!
He turns away from the evil flame and starts moving towards the other colors. Contrary to what he believed he can only fully control the red and gold essences the rest move but sluggishly like a limb that has no blood circulation it just feels wrong and infinitely slow.
What the white dragon said pops into his head. “Red must be fire, gold is simply energy that can be converted. Blue is water? Green is…. air?”
Exasperated with the mystery that is himself he flops back down looking at the roof of the tent. Pain suddenly fills his being.
“Hatch-ling you have woken up?”
“Yes, I have but I feel so sore and stiff like the time you chased me around all day with fire magic.”
The dragon snorts in amusement remembering that day. Slyfer gets a vague feeling of air under his wings and he nearly loses himself to it. Through Alric’s eyes he can see their camp.
“I was training you.” Says the old dragon defensively.
“I was four years old!" Silence….
“It was amusing and fun.”
“……” Slyfer did not feel like commenting on that at all.
“I can sense you above us, I thought that you had returned with Selina?”
“I did but I sensed your situation and came as fast as I could…. If you had died……”
Anger suddenly brew in Slyfer like a storm. Waves and waves of it crashed against his consciousness. It was destruction in carnate. It felt like the earth was shaking with the shear might. A Few elves outside collapsed their consciousness not able to take it. Wolves whimpered and lay flat on the ground ears closely pressed to their skulls tails between their legs. Some even peed involuntarily.
“Old one please calm down nothing has happened I survived!” The storm let up a bit inside Slyfer.
Slyfer then realized what was happening outside. It was killing intent from Alric causing it. It was thick like fog almost touchable.
“Please calm down or you will give us away!” Selina’s voice interrupted their thoughts.
The killing intent disappeared and a calm returned not natural in any way birds and bugs not even the wind stirred.
“That high elf better hope I don’t ever get the opportunity to catch him alone. I will turn him into a toothpick. And you hatch-ling you had better take care of yourself. How can someone like you dare to jump in front of a puny insect to save him. Your destiny is far greater than something not even worth my excrement!”
“Alric stay calm our hatch-ling survived and I sense he has even grown stronger!” Slyfer felt her warm presence envelop him. “Little one! Alric may be crass but the oath is correct. You are more important then the two legs around you guard yourself or it will be the death of all of us. Understand?”
Slyfer wavered a little. “I couldn’t just stand and watch an ally die! What kind of a dragon-man-thing would I be if I did!”
Alrics booming voice came back rumbling like a volcano a clear indication that he was holding back his anger. “You can save all the allies you want when you are strong enough to do it and not risk yourself. Do something like this again and we will come fetch and lock you up until you are strong enough to face anything out there.”
Slyfer’s face paled at the thought. That imprisonment would be one for thousands of years.
Afterwards he senses Alric’s presence fading away into the distance. Slyfer returns to himself and opens his eyes to find the pale faced Aldowin and Trisha in the tent. Aldowin is the first to speak his body shacking with fear.
“What did they say?” Trisha furrows her brows in confusion her gaze switching between Aldowin and Slyfer every few seconds. “Tell him what I said.”
“He said if I endanger myself like that again they will lock me up until I am strong enough to face anything.” Slyfer looks at his hands as he talks. Not sure if he should feel angry or happy. He never knew they care so much. Or was it his destiny that they care about and not himself.
“Tell him EVERYTHING I said.”
“He also said he is going to turn you into a toothpick.”
Aldowin swallows hard at the words. He knows Alric does not forgive or forget.
Trisha looks even more confused. “What are you talking about? What just happened? What’s going on?”
Tired of lying, tired of well everything Slyfer answers nonchalantly. “My step father came to see if I was okay.”
Trisha’s eyes go wide then stuttered. “So… so that oppressive feeling?”
Slyfer gives a weak smile. “He was a little upset with me.”
She is dumbfounded. “A little upset…..”
A scratch on the tent interrupts them. A second later Jade enters carrying a bundle. She looks as pale as the rest of them. Fear controlling her every action. “Dress quickly we leave in a few minutes there is something very wrong with this place.”
Trisha leaves with her and Slyfer gets dressed. It is normal leather armor that probably belonged to one of the soldiers. It fit snugly except around Slyfer’s shoulders. “Did I get bigger?” He pushed the thought aside as he exited the tent.
It only takes half an hour for the busy camp to turn into a somewhat destroyed field. Slyfer walks around the camp looking for his friend and then finally found Grey Main…. He is in a sorry state and it made Slyfer’s heart beat faster with worry. “Don’t worry my two leg friend the other guy looks worse. Actually he is dead.”
Slyfer gives the wolf a caring smile inspecting the wounds on its body. A Chunk of his shoulder has been bitten clean off there are scratches over one of his eyes and a tare in one of his ears.
That however is only the first few wounds he sees the rest are covered with fur so its difficult to discover. Slyfer only finds them because he took his time inspecting every wound. Slyfer angrily gestured at the wounds. “All your wounds are only treated with uma leaf is that the only thing these dark elves know how to use?”
Some healers close by hears him but decides to ignore the jibe. Grey Main chuckles and painfully says. “I am afraid that’s all they have to spare for us.” “Spare my ass!” Slyfer clenches his fist until he spots a healer.
“You there.” He says pointing at the dainty looking dark elf woman. She looks behind her confused for being addressed like this. A crowd starts to gather to watch the spectacle.
“Yes you woman come here!” She looks at everyone around and then stomps towards Slyfer angrily. “How dare you talk…”
Slyfer doesn’t give her a chance to talk. “Is this how you people treat your friends he points at Grey Main’s wounds.”
“I beg your pardon! Friends, they are merely wolves!” Slyfer glances around.
“Merely wolves! Tell me something oh high and mighty Dunmer where would you people be without them!”
Slyfer’s anger makes him use the draconian word for dark elves unconsciously. “Still sitting in a cave somewhere under a volcano? Twiddling your thumbs while the black dragon steals your people to enslave them. Who carried you hear on their backs? Who pulls your carts of food and water? Who hunts for you so that you can stuff your faces?”
“You are all weak without them weak and pitiful.” Disgruntled murmurs comes from the crowd others look down in shame. The wolves however seems to puff their chests out. “That’s enough Slyfer!” Shouts Old Sun stepping through the crowd.
“No it is not! Look how you carry the injured elves on carts but not wolves yet they carried you here. Are you partners or are they your slaves?”
Slyfer turns to look at the healer as his eyes turns red. “You, go and fetch the medicine cart and bring it here….” She only stands and watches him defiantly. “Do as he says.” Said a female voice.” Finally and luckily for her the dainty one moves bowing to the Clan leader of the healers.
“All you other…. people standing around this is not a show bring me injured wolves I will heal them myself since you are such proud and noble beings.”
Old Sun walks closer to whisper. “Slyfer there are other ways to do these things people will not be happy. You are causing unnecessary trouble.”
Slyfer smiles like a psycho and for the first time he looks at someone with disdain. “I DON’T CARE.” Slyfer leans closer menacingly blood boiling for a fight.
“Slyfer that’s enough you got what you wanted.”
Aldowin feels something bad will happen if this continues so he speaks up. Slyfer stays where he is not moving his gaze.
Old Sun deflates visibly then turns around muttering to himself, he leaves through the crowd.
Slyfer delays the whole camp with his theatrics and now he delays them even more by checking each and every wounded wolf. The female wolves objects at him inspecting their bodies at first but they see his determined expression and can only give up when Grey Main interjects.
“There is about ten wolves that would not have made it back. Thirteen would have fallen behind maybe even ending up crippled.” Reports Slyfer to the clan, healer his look of disdain never leaving his face. “I feel like walking around and breaking all these stupid elvin legs only to leave them here so they can crawl back.”
“My lady!” Says the dainty one aghast as she heard his comment towards her clan leader. The clan leader only lifts her hand to stop her from saying anything. “You are very handsome when you are angry.” Says the elf.
Among all the things she could have said this was the least expected and it totally took the wind out of Slyfer’s sails. For the life of him he can’t think of something to say. In the end he decides to stay quiet. His anger dissipates only to be replaced with irritation at himself for being so easily pacified by the older woman.
“I really need a lot more experience in dealing with these strange and wonderful creatures called females. His face changes to a bit of a perverted one as he thinks of their anatomy.”
Luckily no-one sees the look he has, buried in fur as he is busy feeling for a broken ribs on the last wolf. It went quicker then he expected since the clan leader had ordered the other healers to help. Still the sun was already starting to set by the time they finished.
The elves grumbled and complained some wolves as well since they feared this place because of what happened earlier.
The badly injured wolves are loaded on wagons that the Spear clan left behind. Because of this these wagons are heavier and as a result slower.
They hitch six wolves to one of the wagons but they do not have enough to spare for the other one. Old Sun walks over to SLyfer with a triumphant look in his eyes. “So what now boy? You saved them all and now you are stuck with them. We won’t wait any longer.”
Slyfer looks at the Old man lifting his chin. “I will pull it!” The Old man still smiles for a second before his face changes finally realizing what the crazy kid just said. “You? You pull this!” He gestures at the wagon loaded to the brim with wolves. The wolves are huge creatures so obviously the wagons are huge how else would they be able to drag along all the tents and things needed. Slyfer turns to look at the wagon.
The flatbed is level with his head and two of him would have to stand on each other to account for the width. Not to mention the length. The wagon has eight wheels made from the strongest stout wood they can find which also adds to the considerable weight. The axles are pure iron rods as thick as his torso it takes two blacksmiths from the dark elves to mount one!
Old Sun’s reaction is definitely appropriate. Slyfer however smiles at the challenge. “Old white told me to train my endurance so I might as well do this. I need power to protect my allies.” He shudders as he thought of what would happen if he ended up in the same situation. He fears his parents more than death itself!
The old man laughs at the seemingly stupid child. “I will get some men with some know-how to make you a harness. I will pay you a thousand Gold pieces if you manage to move it!” The exclamation draws attention and soon the bet spreads through the camp like wildfire.
Trisha standing nearby shakes her head. Aldowin next to her smiles. “The old man is going to lose his money.”
The harness is quickly made much to the consternation of the wolves. They do not want him to pull them even if it were possible. It is embarrassing and they do not want the kind two leg to hurt himself.
Slyfer ignores their please. Sitting on the side and chatting with Grey main who is also on the wagon since Slyfer discovered he had a broken rib. Old Sun returns carrying a harness made out of thick layered leathers woven together. A normal one would break since the load ordinarily would be shared between six wolves it now all had to be pulled by one person!
Old Sun hands the harness over to his men to put it on Slyfer. The man nearly falls over with the sudden weight. Slyfer starts to feel a slither of doubt. “Will I be able to pull it? If I cant I will have to bury myself in the sand because of the embarrassment!”
Slyfer shakes the thought and bends down for the man to put it over his shoulders. As he stands up Slyfer can barely see in-front of him because the leather is layered so thick. The weight however feels like nothing at all. It gives him a bit of confidence.
To the others Slyfer looks extremely funny. Like a monster with very short arms and extremely small head that barely pokes out of the harness. To complete the picture his legs are completely free making him look like a brown egg with abnormally long legs compared to its arms.
After tying the harness down around him the man starts hitching the braided leather ropes to the solid rings on on the wagon’s steering rack with four wheels attached. Slyfer had put Grey Main close to the brake which is situated on the front of the wagon where the usual driver would be. While this is going on the elves are joking and laughing at Slyfer’s expense.
Meanwhile inside him the dragons are extremely angry. “How could you lower our race to pulling a wagon with mere puppies on it.”
Slyfer rolls his eyes. “It’s for training. My body can’t hold all the energy and it needs endurance. What else can boost my strength?” Some still grumble but most fall quiet with understanding.
Old Sun’s amused voice pulls him back into the physical world. “Give it a go boy.”
Slyfer smiles. “Hah Old Sun let me, your grandfather show you how a man supports his allies the same goes to all you other useless two legs.” The jibes and laughter stop! The wolves look on with expectation silently willing Slyfer to move. All the wolves accept the ones on the wagon of course.
Everyone falls quiet only the wind can be heard but Slyfer still does not move. After a minute. Slyfer turns to Aldowin.
“Pssst… Master pssst come over here.” Aldowin's brows draws down in worry as he walks toward his student feeling very awkward with everyone staring.
“What is it Estund? Whats wrong, is it… too heavy?”
Slyfer tries to shake his head but cant with the harness in the way.
“No I umm I have a pee……..”
Aldowin: “……….”
Slyfer: “……….”
Aldowin: “……..”
Aldowin turns around and walks away.
“Master? Oi master!”
Aldowin looks at the sky pretending he doesn’t hear anything.
“Curses old man! I will get you for this.”
Taking a deep breath and squeezing his…. Well holding a little tighter he readies himself Slyfer sends Grey main a mental message.
“You ready Mr driver?”
