A Spark of the Candle: Jeriald Sheppard

It has been, far too long I do believe. I often lose myself in the mutterings that I find myself in so do please forgive me.

I stare deeply at the candle that lay before me and I forget to ask why? It is hard to tell.

I did find some wax this time so if you would bear with me, I may have an query to set before you. It is not much, but just a touch.

You see, it has been a bit of a mystery as to what has been happening and I do believe that I have found some evidence that would be of some use. Unfortunately, I can not verify not provide anything that would be too helpful.

It reminds me of an old story. There was a man, a good man. It was quite long ago you see, the records are falsified so please do not look into it as you will not find it nor will you like the outcome.

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

Born in a place long ago, very, very long ago. A place where the sands twisted, twirled and broiled. Of course, that is what the legends say. It is hard to truly know what has been kept accurate over the eons.

I can tell you that there is one detail that has been kept and which I have tracked to the best of my scholarly capacity. It was his eyes. There were, it seems that the histories have mismanaged and misunderstood that the one came from the other. Cerise, they said.

I do not know how to validate if there were two, or whence and where one came from over the other but it is entirely accurate that what was done, should not have been.

Upon my delves into the archives I found a missive that spoke of the final words of a man named "Lastrana". It took considerable effort I must admit, but I have pieced together some mysteries that should most likely have stayed dead.

Rather, I wish I had more information to falsify what I have seen... Beware, the one that was not the first, nor the disciple of the last. Those words have no true meaning to me but they were the clearest that I could find that had any validity after nearly five thousand years.

I do not know when this message will receive you, the wax... It is arguably the most useful substance and yet you never know when in time it will work. Truly a magnificent amalgamation of Chronosnout applications.

I digress. Take care, I dare not disclose the year in such a missive as you know the usage of such... a method is highly unorthodox.

Regards,

Sheppard
