There was a very small, black kitten living by the lake. “I’m so hungry,” thought the kitten.
Word around the lake was that there was a nearby restaurant with lots of trash. So the kitten, with its empty stomach, decided to venture there.
When the kitten went behind the restaurant where all the trash cans were, the place was filled with bigger cats and dogs fighting for food. “I’m scared,” thought the kitten, and turned around. But when it turned around, it thought, “But I’m so hungry!” so it turned around again.
The kitten perused around the trash place hoping to find some leftover food, always staying away from the big and scary cats and dogs. But this proved a waste of time. The cat then saw a small window was slightly ajar and the smells drifting out of it were wonderful. For the first time, the kitten was happy about being so small because it could do what the other big and scary cats and dogs couldn’t do.
The small kitten jumped through the small window and landed atop a mountain of fishes on a cutting board.
There were so many fishes, each varying with so many different sizes and colors and flavors, that the small kitten, which had never had to luxury to have selectivity as a problem, froze in inaction.
Then the chef of the kitchen noticed the small kitten, and yelled at it and ran over.

The kitten was then forced to finally pick a fish, and it picked the biggest one it could find. A fish the size of its own body.
At that moment it learned several important life lessons.
When it tried to drag the fish with it, its speed and dexterity were slowed down by the fish’s immense weight. And when it managed to get the fish through the window, the fish got stuck because it was too fat to pass through.
Then came the chef and slammed the small window shut.
Just before the small kitten was about to be crushed to death in the window frame, it managed to get to the outside of the window, with its small kitten fangs still on the fish’s head.
The window slamming decapitated the head of the fish, and the fish head and small black kitten fell through the air.
Just before the kitten was about to land on its back, it found itself landing on its feet. And of course, the hungry kitten still had the fish head in its mouth.
The small and black kitten looked around and saw that the big cats and big dogs were still fighting. And before any of them noticed, the kitten was gone.
Back at its small home at the lake, the small, black kitten tore apart and ate the fish head like a lion. Afterwards it reflected upon today’s experiences and risks and lessons. “I’m no longer hungry, but man do I feel stressed out,” the kitten thought.
To remedy its stress, it took a long nap atop the bones of the fish head.
