Chapter 2: Myth Online

Chapter 2: Myth Online

Hello everyone. This is Kuroyuki. I figured I should introduce myself now. This is my very first fiction writing, so all critiques are welcome =) A bit about myself, well I am 20 years old, and want to be a game programmer =) what I want to do the most is to play a VRMMORPG. but since these don't exist I decided to create a story to satisfy me for the moment =) anyway, hope you like it =) still this looks so much smaller on the site, even though it was 8.5 pages in my editor..... weird.

Edit: I have since improved the literacy of the chapter. It hopefully explains things a bit better, and breathes a bit of life into my stationary talking robots =P

-Channel 5; World News-

“Today, the 9th of April, we have a special announcement from the CEO of the ever mysterious company known as Oracle:GAI. For those of you that have never heard of OGAI, it is a company that has a dabbling in all portions of the market, and no one knows what their goals are. Recently they released a simple single player game, that has hooked millions of players worldwide. They have also released several Agricultural improvements, such as the Fertater, which is a water based fertilizer that increased crop yields by 5% over all current fertilizers. There are too many improvements this company has made to the world economy to even count! Today they are planning to announce something that even I have no idea what it will be! Bring in the big screen!” says the Announcer with his wavy blond hair, bright blue eyes, and average build. He had been gestureing excitedly throughout his speech.

Several people in work suits roll in a huge flat screen television, and then leave.

The Announcer looks at the TV excitedly and then turns back to the camera. “I know this isn't how we usually interview people, but OGAI insisted that we use this TV they specially prepared, so that the signal they broadcast can't be traced.” The announcer looks like that seems like overkill. He then realizes some people may not recognize the significance of OGAI's CEO appearing. “I forgot to mention, but the CEO of OGAI has never once shown his face to the public, and has never released his name either! How he has managed to do this, no one knows, but perhaps we'll see his face today!!!” The announcer then turns to the TV and uses a remote to turn it on. A symbol with a dragon, a hydra, and a winged human shape that are locked in battle while surrounded by a Yin Yang Symbol appears for 10 seconds and then a room appears, and in it is a woman sitting in a chair.

Slight surprise shows on the announcer's face “Welcome to World News, the channel that displays all the news that effects the world, I take it you are the CEO of OGAI?” asks the announcer.

“That is correct.” says the women with dark red hair and green eyes.

“Wow! Everyone, this is the first time the world has seen the face of the mysterious CEO of OGAI, and I must say that I am surprised that she is showing her face to us. May I ask for what I can call you? Also what is so important that you would break your current trend of not showing yourself to the public?” says the announcer

The woman smirks a bit at the question and says, “You may call me Elize. The answer is simple really, 1 week ago, OGAI successfully created a device that allows the user to experience a Virtual Reality.”

The announcer is stunned into silence. Even the cameraman is so stunned he can't remind the Announcer to ask anther question. After a couple seconds the announcer remember that this is in a live broadcast and pulls himself together.

“A Virtual Reality you say?” the announcer asks, his face looking unbelieving.

Elize looks like the cat that got the cream and replies “Correct. We at OGAI have managed to create a device that we have decided to call 'The VR Pod'. Not very creative, I know, but nothing else could describe it in three words. This, however, is not the main reason for the announcement. During the week between the creation and the announcement we created a new world for the VR Pod, in other words, a VRMMORPG. We have decided to call it Myth Online. However, why it is named that way will be a secret.”

The announcer is once again stunned for a moment, and then excitedly states “Hold on just a second. Are you telling me that in one week you have managed to create a 'world' as you call it, for the VR Pod? How did you manage this feat, and what types of things can a person do in this VR World?”

Once again pleased at startling the announcer Elize says “How we made the VR World is quite simple. First we created an AI that would run the world, give it laws and substance.” she then folds her hands and rests her elbows on her knee. “After that, we had that AI create a number of AIs that would act as the worlds divine beings. Giving each of them their own unique role and powers, as well as personality. We instructed the AI to make sure that there were an even number of Gods and Goddesses, versus the Demons and Demonesses.” frowns a bit at the last word, not to sure if it is actually a word but continues anyways. “However their powers, personalities, and goals were all decided by the AI in charge of the world. After that, the AI was only tasked to be in charge of making sure none of the laws it created at first were broken, letting the Divine AIs do whatever they wished. This in turn lead to the creation of the physical world in the virtual reality, and the creation of the lower races which the player can chose from. However, not all races are available from the start. How to unlock them, will be for the players to discover.” she finishes up her speech and looks at the announcer expectantly.

The announcer looks back at her, looking unconvinced “That sounds good and all, but what is the point in playing from the creation of the VR world? There wouldn't be many established towns, or for that matter, many NPCs to buy items from!” He waves his arms in emphases.

Elize smiled in a mischievous way “Did I ever say that the Continent had just been born?”

the announcer looks disgruntled “No, but a week isn't a long enough time for the NPCs to spread or build towns and skills, unless you had them spring into existence!” he waves his arms again.

Elize's mischievous look intensifies “Ah, but did I ever say that the AI only had a week to create this world?” She raises an eyebrow. “Using all our available resource, we assembled a super computer to run all the AIs of MO, and we were able to make it so that time in the virtual world is currently traveling at about 1,000,000X faster than our time. In other words it has been 20,833 years since the Divine AIs were created” she started looking smug near the end. She had the right to.

Once again the announcer was shocked. “Are you telling me that when people play the game, they can play for only a minute in our world but would experience 1,000,000 minutes in the other world?” his jaw almost dropping.

Elize snorts in disdain“If we where to keep it at it's current speed, then yes. However, we have no idea how this would effect the mind so when everything is released, MO time will only be 10X faster.” she then gets her lecture face on. “On that note, we do not advise using the time difference to get more sleep, nor should you try to use the VR Pod while asleep, until further testing is done, to see if sleeping in the game acts the same as sleeping in the real world. We still do not know all the effects that sleeping in the VR world could cause. For example, If you only slept in the VR World, and you slept 10 hours, that would only be 1 hour in reality. We do not yet know if the act of sleeping is a mental relaxation process, to relax the mind from stress, or a purely physical process that keeps the brain functioning. This is also why we advise not to use the VR Pod while sleeping, or at night. While being in the pod may have the body act as though it is sleeping, we do not yet know if the brain itself needs the relaxation of sleep or if it is purely a physical process.” once she finished speaking she then relaxes her lecture face.

The announcer looked like he was having trouble adjusting to all this information. “I see, so when do you plan to release all of this for purchasing?” he decided to go for the simple question in the end.

Elize started to look bored. “We plan to only open the game in 2 weeks. Giving the AIs more time to construct the world, and give it a history. The VR Pod will be able to be bought immediately, and comes with a VR Room installed so that people can get use to being in the virtual world. The Pods themselves do not connect to the internet, and will directly connect to the VR Server. This is to prevent hacking, and other internet related risks, such as viruses. I will now allow for any questions the station, or the public would like to ask, regarding the technology.” she gets into a waiting position, and looks through the screen expectantly.

Relieved that he didn't have to come up with the questions, the announcer then looks back at the camera. “Okay you heard her folks, if you have any questions call our number and we will get to you in the order of your call. Please only ask relevant questions.” The background is full of ringing telephones.

The announcer looks at the right side of the room and reads the question. “Okay first question! How does the character creation process of MO work? And what classes are there to chose from? How free are the players when it comes to this world?” he then turns towards the TV, looking forward to the answer.

Elize was, once again, looking relatively bored. “The character creation process is simple, You choose a race, modify your appearance and/or gender. As for the classes, you will earn those during your first 2 months of in-game time. I will not name any examples, but there are many classes. Also, do not attempt to research what you need to do to get a certain class, as there is a system in place to lock a class to you if you have prior knowledge on how to get it. This only blocks specific knowledge regarding MO, if you have knowledge from other games, you may use that knowledge to try to get a related class. For example a person who wants to use a melee class would train with a melee weapon. The class selection process is much more complicated than that, but if I were to give you a specific example it would be locked for all the people who see this broadcast. For that matter, it applies to me as well, so I have not looked into any of the classes and therefor have no knowledge of any of the classes.” Looking a bit winded she grabs a glass of water and drinks it.

The announcer is once again rather stupefied, and looks towards the right wall. “Wow that sounds like a complicated system. So the next question is 'What is to keep OGAI from using the VR Pod to potentially kill all those using it? What about someone who hacks into OGAI from doing it?'” He looks at the CEO curiously, as he wants to know as well.

Elize raises an eyebrow. “Quite simple really. While the VR Pod has the ability to send, receive, and block some signals of the brain, It cannot in any way damage the brain, or stop signals such as heart-beating, and breathing, due to the nature of those signals and the fact that it is incapable of using the frequencies of those signals” She lowers the eyebrow and takes another swig of water.

The announcer looks confused and asks, “Frequencies?”

Elize continues to explain,“Well, it isn't exactly a frequency, but it is the only word in the dictionary we have to describe how it works.”

the announcer nods in understanding. “I see, due to not being able to ask about the game in detail, most questions have been disqualified” He then looks towards the right again. “There is one more available question though. 'How much will this cost?'” He was once again looking back at Elize.

Elize is once again quite bored with the question. “The answer to that is easy enough. The Pod itself will be $250, the price of a top of the line computer. As for MO, it costs $10 a month. I know that is quite high for a subscription, but the cost of running the VR world is not small. Is that all of the questions?”

The announcer is surprised by the relatively affordable price tag, and looks to the right. “Yes that is all of the questions we have received.”

Elize looks dissatisfied and says,“Very well then, I will be going then.” She then looks extremely mischievous. “Also, I just wanted to let everyone know that I am currently broadcasting from one of the VR Pods, so this room only exists in VR. Not to mention this is not my true appearance, and this may not even be my true gender.” The woman smiles deviously, as the announcer who looks shocked, as most the audience probably is. The screen goes black, and the men in work suits come back in to take the TV away. The announcer is still shocked but turns back towards the camera.

A bit flustered he exclaims, “Well, there you have it, the ever mysterious OGAI is releasing The VR Pod, and will release the only game for it, Myth online, two weeks from now. It seems that we probably will never know the true face of OGAI's CEO!” He then continues to other topics of the world news today.

-Nisshoki-

I turn off the TV, and look around the white room, at the men in suits that are sitting next to me, my parents on the other side. Before I go to much into detail, first I should go back in time to about 1 days ago...

I started to see light again, but before I could fully focus my eyes a pain beyond anything I had experienced before started to make itself known to me. I groaned, opening my eyes further to see what was going on. What I saw was a pure white ceiling, something I am not use to seeing. I start turning my head, but it hurts too much to move it much. I decide moving my head wasn't a good idea, and started moving my eyes around to see my situation. On my right I could see the top of my mother's head. It looks as though she had fallen asleep while watching over me. I look around some more, but no one else is around. The only things in the room were a TV, an empty shelf, a wardrobe, a few chairs, and the bed I was in. Basically, it was an average hospital room, at least as TV shows portrayed them.

As I was absorbing my surroundings a nurse walked in. She saw my eyes opened, and her eyes widened in surprise. She hurries off calling for the doctor. Due to her antics, my mother woke up. Looking around in a sleepy daze she noticed my eyes were open. Her face looked like she hadn't slept well for a few days, and here eyes where pinkish due to crying.

“Hey” I said, and groaned a bit as moving my mouth hurt a bit.

Tears started pooling in my mother's eyes, and she quickly jumped at me to hug me.

“Ow! Ow! Ow!” I said in a low voice, but still with a bit of force. She quickly released me, still crying from relief. The doctor chose to walk in at this moment.

“How are you feeling, young man?” the doctor asks as he approaches my heart monitor.

“Not too good, my body hurts all over, and talking hurts a bit” I say.

The doctor smiles and says, “Not surprising.”

He then started to explain what had happened. It seems one of the big lights for the stage had somehow broken off, and fell right on top of me. One of the teachers had decided to come and check out the gym to make sure everything was in place, and saw me just as the light hit me. The teacher then rushed to call an ambulance, and to postpone the entrance ceremony. I was then taken to a nearby hospital. There they discovered that I had broken my collar bone, 4 ribs, my right wrist, my right knee and left ankle. Other than that I was badly bruised all over. The doctor then said that I was lucky the light hadn't hit my head, or for that matter, broken most my bones. He then started to explain that they hadn't expected me to wake up for another 3 days, it had already been 6. I started to feel tired again, so he told me that he will check on my again tomorrow. I then said goodnight to my mother, and told her to get some proper rest. She agreed a bit reluctantly, but a nurse led her to a spare room she could sleep in for a bit. Then I drowsed off, as the nurses started recording my vitals.

The next morning, and I know it was morning because of the view from my window, that I hadn't seen before because of my position. I had raised the head of my bed so that I could look around easier, as well as talk to people better. Everything that had been broken was in a cast, including most of my upper body, except for my arms.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

After the doctor had given me a general inspection, my mother came in and we talked for a bit, mainly about what I had missed, and how I was feeling. I was still worried about mom, but her face looked much better after her sleep, so I figured she would be alright. Then my dad walked in followed by two men in suits.

“Hey dad, whats with the entourage?” I asked, smiling a bit.

Once my dad saw me his expression relaxed a bit, seeing that I was healthy, and awake. “Hey son, the two behind me are employees of my company's partner. They heard about your accident and decided that they would like to offer you something, as a get well gift.”

I am surprised at this and say, “Oh? Nice to meet you then. May I know your names?”

The man on the right, who was a bit taller and skinnier than the one on the left nodded his head and began to talk. “Yes, no problem Nisshoki, my name is Anna Smith, I work as part of the research team of OGAI. You can just call me Anna” she said with a smile and nodding at me.

I had been slightly shocked to learn that the tall man with a hat had actually been a woman, but I hid my surprise and smiled while nodding back. The man next to her, who was definitely a man with his thick build, introduced himself as well. He was Anna's bodyguard, apparently. Seems she was an important part of OGAI's team.

I then realize something. “Wait a second... you said OGAI? You mean that OGAI?! The one that no one knows where, or who they really are?!” I asked as I realized exactly what they had said.

“That is correct” said the smiling Anna.

“Wow, I didn't know you guys were partnered with my dad's company.” I said with an tone of amazement

Dad smiles at my reaction. And then continues talking. “Anyway, as I was saying. Anna has prepared a get well gift for you to help amuse yourself for the 4 months you will be here.” Dad says with a glint of mischief in his eyes.

“Yes” says Anna smiling as well. “first though we should catch you up to what happened earlier this morning.” she then took a remote and turned on the TV while putting a Blu-ray disc into the player, and hit play.

“Today, the 9th of April....”

After the recording of the 2 hour old news broadcast came to an end, I was in shock. While I am not a hardcore gamer, I do know my way around a MMORPG. I could understand exactly how much of a technological leap this was. “Has OGAI really come up with a VR device, and even created a VRMMORPG?” I asked with an incredulous tone. People have tried to make a true VR device before but this is the first one to actually succeed. I was almost thinking that this was an elaborate late April Fools joke.

“Yes, its true.” says Anna with a gleam of understanding in her eyes.

“wow, just wow. So what does this have to do with my get well gift?” I ask, confused.

“You mean you haven't figured it out yet?” says Anna with an amused grin on her face.

I started thinking about it far a second, and then things clicked into place, but it couldn't be. Such a thing for someone she barely knew?

“You don't mean that you are giving me a VR Pod are you?” I asked with disbelief in my voice.

“Well, your right, and wrong at the same time.” she says with a grin. “What we are giving you is a VR Pod, as well as a Subscription to Myth Online that will last for the duration of your hospital stay.” she says, and starts to giggle at the look on my face.

I am speechless. “I... I... I don't know what to say.... Thank you. But, why me?” I ask.

“Simple really” Anna says leaning closer a bit. “You see, your father has helped us a fair amount, so we decided the best way to pay him back was to give a gift of equal worth. Of course, since he himself wouldn't have much free time for a game, we decided that it would be better to give it to you” Anna say leaning back, once again grinning at my expression. “Anyways, now that we have told you about it, in about a day or so a team will come to install the pod. And when your hospital stay is over, they will transfer it to your house. We have to go soon, but do you have any questions?” she looks at me kindly.

“Well, just one really.” I say looking a bit awkward. “How can I get into the Pod if I can't move?”

“Ah” she says nodding her head in understanding“ I almost forgot about that. You see while the hardware inside the pod is necessary, you yourself don't need to be inside the pod. The main purpose of the pod is to monitor and record your vitals to make sure everything is alright, as well as to send that data to us for research. Mainly to see the effects of VR exposure on the body, but since you are already in a hospital and are being monitored that feature won't be necessary.” Looking a little more serious. “The pod is also covered with a cushioning material to make sure the body is won't hurt itself if for any reason the Pod doesn't interrupt the movement signals like it is suppose to, or if someone is panicking while under full dive, and force ejected, while still panicking.” she finishes explaining and smiles at me.

I nod in understanding. “I see, makes a certain amount of sense. What about the people who don't want to send their vital data?” I ask.

Anna looks pleased and continues to answer. “Well before the purchase of the pod they sign an agreement stating that they are willing for the data to be sent to us. Since there are no names with the data, and it is only basic data, such as pulse, oxygen levels, blood sugar levels, and the like. Nothing specific such as DNA. So far, everyone has agreed to it. We also are not allowed to share the data, so that plays a factor as well” Anna says while relaxing a bit.

Once again I nod my head. “I see. That's it then, I don't want to keep you since you have things you need to do. Have a good day.” I say while smiling and nodding towards her.

“I hope you get better quickly” Anna says with a smile and exits the room with her bodyguard.

Dad sits down besides mom, and we start discussing what VR would be like. I am excited about the possibilities of such a world. Soon night falls though. It had been a while and both my parents wanted to catch up with me. They tell me good night and dad heads home while mom goes to the spare room and falls asleep again, satisfied that I am well for the time being.

I myself am tired because of all the surprises today and quickly fall asleep.

The next day passes by slowly, as the doctors check me over to make sure they have taken care of all my injuries. I am rather bored, but I don't want to complain, since I won't be bored for too long. And then the next morning the VR Pod arrives and is installed with little trouble. It doesn't take much. Just a power outlet, and a phone line; but they also calibrate the helmet for my brain as well. This step isn't necessary, but it decreases the amount of lag between me and the avatar apparently. Not that one can usually tell the difference they said, though there are cases where a non calibrated helmet will misread signals. They even had a case while testing it where someone punched themselves in the face because of it. The service comes with the pod anyways, so people usually get it calibrated. It had only been a day or so, and already over 5 million people have ordered a pod. This particular crew has already installed 4 today. I tell the crew goodbye. My mom is still asleep, probably catching up from the last few sleepless nights, or so I assume since she hasn't come in yet. So I put on the helmet.

“Log-in.” I say. And everything goes dark, and I can't fell anything. Then I hear a voice.

“Welcome to the VR World. This is the Gateway you will go through for all VR activities. The Iris Scan has detected an unregistered user. Please state the name you would like to go by.” says an odd voice. Surprisingly I can't tell the gender of the voice. It isn't female, but it doesn't strike me as male either.

If I had a face it would probably look a bit confused right now. “Before I introduce myself shouldn't you give me your name?” I say politely.

The voice replies, “You may call me Ain, I am the AI in charge of your pod”

Exclaiming in understanding, I then say, “Nice to meet you. What are the rule for the name?”

Ain says in his/her neutral voice, “The current rules state that a name shouldn't contain any profanity in any form, and must be unique. You may make a first name, last name, and as many middle names as you wish. It is recommended though to keep it as short as you can, since you will have to state your name when entering the Gate.”

“Ok, give me a second to think of a name” I say and start thinking of what I want my name to be. After a bit of thinking, I decide to make my name nice and short.

“I would like my name to be Yuki” I say.

Ain replies, “Unfortunately Yuki is already taken, would you like to add a last name?”

“Ok then, the last name shall be Tane” I say.

Ain pauses for a second and then says,“You want your name to be Yuki Tane, correct? This name is available”

“Yes” I say excitedly.

Ain pauses once more and says, “Welcome to the Gate Yuki Tane, from here on you can make a room for you to be transferred to when you enter the Gate. A room is needed in order to access the VR world. If you wish a standard room can be created, and you can customize it from there. There is also the possibility of making it without starting in the standard room.”

I consider for a second and then say, “I would like to start in the standard room, please”

Ain once again pauses and replies,“Transferring you to 'standard room', please stand by. Transferring.”

Everything around me suddenly changes color, and I find myself in a white room. In the room there are two doors. One says 'Log-out'. The other says 'Myth Online'. Other than the two doors there is a wardrobe, a couch, a desk with paper and pencil, there is a floating screen looking thing near the couch, and a full length mirror. Everything is white.

Ain; “Transfer Complete. Please state any changes you would like to make.”

I get started. By the time everything is done, an hour had passed. The floor was an off-white carpet, nice and thick, while the couch was now a dark brown leather. The wardrobe was made dark brown, as well as the desk, and the edge of the mirror. The walls where a slightly lighter shade of off-white than the carpet. Besides what was there before, I added a dining room and a small kitchen, as well as a bathroom. Even though I didn't need them, I felt it looked nice.

“That is all the changes I plan to make, what time is it now?” I ask Ain.

Ain replies, “It has currently been 1 hour since you have been in here, however it has been 2 hours outside.”

“Wait, what!” I exclaim.

“The current Time acceleration is at .5X normal time.” says Ain.

“Why didn't you tell me?!” I exclaim, panicking for a second.

“You didn't ask.” Ain says calmly.

I stare at the ceiling for a second. “..............”

Saying nothing more I head towards the 'log-out' door and open it and head through. Everything goes black, and then I open my eyes to find myself in my hospital bed. Luckily nothing had happened, as mom just entered carrying breakfast. I greeted her, and we both ate. I told mom what had happened and she laughed a bit. It wasn't exactly a bad thing as it meant that I could spend less time bored while I was in there, but I decided to make it match with normal time. Mom and I enjoyed our breakfast, and then talked a bit more. She had been really worried for those 6 days, so I didn't mind talking with her to help her relax, now that I was healing.

It has now been almost 2 weeks, and Myth Online will be open to players in about 2 hours. I was strapped in and ready to go. Mom and dad were busy today, so they aren't here. I spent a good amount of time in the VR Room. There was a chat function that allowed for people to talk to each other. But I couldn't talk to them because I was in normal time, while they where in accelerated time. I mainly used this time to get used to VR. I made a track, as well as a weight room, and started moving my body around to see what it felt like. It was amazing, honestly. I could hardly feel a difference versus real life, except the pain was down to 20%. There is a slider that can control how much pain you feel, but 50% is the max while 20% is the lowest. This was because being unable to feel pain was an extreme disadvantage, but some people might not understand that, so they made a minimum. They also explained that as time goes on, the minimum may be lowered depending on reactions to the current minimum.

As the time approached 5 minutes to launch, I changed the Time Acceleration ton 10X normal. I now had 50 minutes to wait. But this was so that I could already be used to the 10X acceleration. The 50 minutes passed by in a flash, which was surprising to me since I was extremely excited for MO.

System:“Announcement: Myth Online is now playable. MO will use the name provided at log-in. If you wish to change your name do so before entering MO.”

I immediately open the door and step in. The world once again goes dark, but this time a list of words is displayed in front of me.

System: “Welcome, Yuki Tane. This is the character creation area. Please choose your race and sub-race. Currently there is only one sub-race per race. However when a new sub-race is discovered you may undertake a quest to change to that sub-race. This may only be done when a new sub-race is discovered, and is limited by your race. The only way to change your race entirely is to be the one to discover that race, or be part of the party that discovered the race. There is one other way, but this shall remain a secret. Be aware that not all races have more than one sub-race.”

That makes sense I guess, I look at the screen and read the different Races.

Please Select a Race:

Human

Elf

Dwarf

Nuko

I ask the system,“What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?”

System: “Each has their own racial traits. However this knowledge may only be acquired in-game, any outside sources will lock the race. Usually there would be a question session in which you are asked if you have read any information on Myth Online, However since Myth Online has only been online for only a couple minutes, this was skipped.”

I nod my head in understanding. “I see. Can I see what I would look like as each race?”

System: “Certainly, one second”

In about 3 seconds there where 4 avatars standing in front of me. The Human race was, well human. The Elf me was extremely tall, not as buff but still extremely well built. There were various hair colors and eye colors. The dwarf was tall for a dwarf, but what was really astonishing was the size of his muscles. However next to the dwarf was a race I had never seen before. The avatar was about 1 foot, if you didn't count the rabbit ears which added another foot. The body seemed to be gender neutral. The hair was a snow white, and the eyes were red. The skin was a healthy white, and there was a little fluffy rabbit tail. It was wearing something that looked like wool pants and a wool shirt, with a little leather vest. I didn't even need to consider my options, I have always hated my height and how others have treated me because of it, and, quite honestly, it looked really cute. I decided then and there what I wanted. “I choose the Nuko Race”

System: “Very well. Since there is only one sub-race at this time, please modify your character as you wish. You get 5 changes”

“I would like to keep it as is.” I reply.

System:“Alright. You will now be sent to the Nuko starting area. You will spend 2 months of in game time here. Once that is done, your actions will have decided what class you are, and you will be sent to the appropriate location. Transferring....”

Everything went dark, and then I found myself in the Nuko starting area.
