Sitting with large eyes and an open mouth in a wrecked classroom, Yumeko looked at what lay in front of her.
There on the ground, now slowly sitting up, was a person - a girl her age it seemed. “W-Who are you!?” Yumeko asked.
The girl, standing now, approached Yumeko. “Better question, where am I?” she asked, scouting the classroom.
Yumeko then stood up. Overwhelmed, she began to drool - “This girl must feel like she’s in an isekai - like in my manga…!” she moaned, before the girl faced her.
“Girl?” she asked, “I’m a guy - and the name’s Taiyo, Taiyo Udagawa!”.
Yumeko’s eyes rolled back like she was in a dream - “It really is like a manga… ‘Cause he’s a trap too…!” she mumbled.
Taiyo faced her with confusion being an apparent motive - “What does that even mean!?” he asked before pulling a white sword out off the back of his skirt and drawing it.
“Don’t hurt me!” Yumeko cried, shying away from Taiyo.
“Chill, this isn’t even real - I think…” Taiyo went on to say as he fiddled with the sword, eventually turning it on.
“AH!” he and Yumeko both shouted in unison as the sword glowed up blue, and a voice declared - “STAGE 1: BEAST OF THE HOME - STATUS: INCOMPLETE”. Going to go pick it up, as he had dropped it in fear, Taiyo lifted up the sword - before throwing it again after hearing it announce “WIELDER: TAIYO UDAGAWA - RANK 400 LEADERBOARD, A.L. 0”.
Dropping out of Yumeko’s arms, which he had hopped into before, Taiyo picked up the sword again, and this time, held it still. “INCOMING DANGER!” the sword announced.
“Why’d it go red!?” Taiyo screamed, watching the sword blurt out an alert sound at the same time.
Whilst Taiyo focused on the sword, Yumeko ran to the classroom door, and picked up on the students who were coming back from their outdoor activities. “Taiyo, hide yourself, and hide the sword!” she shrieked.
Hitting the sword on the ground, desk, and his palm, Taiyo tried to get the sword to go quiet, but it wouldn’t work. “It won’t shut-up!” Taiyo screamed, as Yumeko still stared out of the door-window. “Well, make it!” she replied.
Stressing over the situation, Taiyo tried to think up a quick idea. “Erm, Yume, go play ball!” he cried. Yumeko paused. “Did you call me Yume…?” she asked Taiyo.
Taiyo nodded, and jumped on the sword - “Now go play ball~!” he whined.
Sighing, Yumeko ran out the classroom, and closed the door as fast as she could behind her. “Hi-ya teach!” she said to her professor, who didn’t look exactly happy to see her. “What is it?” he asked with an annoyed tone in his voice.
Looking around for an idea on how to distract the professor, Yumeko noticed a girl opening her purse, and then faced the professor again.
“The door, it’s locked.” she told him.
“Great, I can open it.” he replied, swinging a bundle of keys on his finger from out of his pocket as he inched closer.
“B-But you shouldn’t!” Yumeko clammed, seeing Taiyo try to stuff the sword into her backpack through the class door window - for the class wall-windows had green curtains blocking them.

Finally in front of her, now with students behind, the professor ordered for Yumeko to move out the way. Gulping as she saw Taiyo trying to zip the bag, she faced the class again.
In the mesh of students, Yumeko picked up on Kenta, and backed up from the door.
Finally able to reach it, the professor opened up the classroom door, revealing Taiyo, who zoomed into a random chair.
In seconds, the students stormed into the room, and as expected, a girl came face-to-face with Taiyo. “Hey, I don’t think that this is your room!” she cried, drawing everyone near her.
Standing behind Taiyo, Yumeko whispered in his ear “That’s Makima - the school drama queen, and so-called popular girl.”.
Now running to the professor, Makima pointed back at Taiyo. Making it a point to show her disgust, she screamed - “Teach, take a look at that freak! Who is she, and why is she in my seat!?”.
Taiyo sighed, and put his hands over his eyes, as he waited for the teacher’s response.
“Must be our new transfer student…” the professor quoted, pulling an attendance-calling sheet from his table, and revealing the presence of Taiyo’s name.
Yumeko backed up from Taiyo and covered her mouth. “Taiyo came down from the sky, like something straight out of an anime - but he’s a real student, and he’s on our class list. It’s like God made a magical arrangement and put it there!” she thought to herself, before remembering her thoughts from earlier.
‘Dear God, please take away my boring life…’
the words jumped back and forth in her head - had God truly heard and answered her plea?
Before she knew it, the professor was calling everyone’s name and ordering for them to sit. Obedient, Yumeko did, but for the rest of class, while the professor rambled on about physics, Yumeko thought about her prayer, and what exactly she might be getting into.
If God really did hear my prayers, sent Taiyo down, and allowed for him to stay here - then Taiyo must be something more than just a normal kid. Taiyo isn’t just crazy, he’s other than human. But what? Is Taiyo… an angel!?
“Ms. Asami!” the professor suddenly shouted. “He- Hugh, Yeah!?” Yumeko groaned, seeming like she just woke up.
With a frown, the professor had put both of his hands on to his small hips, and was shaking his head. “Were you daydreaming again?” he asked Yumeko.
Yumeko was taken aback. “No, no I wasn’t - I wasn’t daydreaming at all! Why do you ask?” she poked.
The professor opened his once closed eyes, walked to Yumeko’s desk, and lifted up her blank paper - which she hadn’t even written her name on. “Because I’ve been calling your name!” he declared.
Yumeko sloped down in her seat, as the professor dropped the paper, and let it float down. Unfortunately for Yumeko, the paper landed on its back, revealing another one of her drawings.
“You need to focus in class - you’re never getting anything done. Even our new student, Taiyo, has completed the sheet, and you have yet to start! Get your head in the game, because this study guide’s due tomorrow.” the professor ordered before the bell rang.
Seeing Yumeko pick up her paper while the other students left the room, Taiyo waited for her to finish, before patting her on the back.
“It's okay.” Taiyo told her whilst exiting the classroom himself. “No, it’s not.” Yumeko would reply to him as she followed.
“I’m going to fail class.” she then stated as she walked out the building.
Unzipping Yumeko’s backpack and taking the sword out before talking to her, Taiyo played with the tool for a while, trying to activate it again - prior to responding.
“Chill, no you won’t…” he said, finally getting the sword to turn on.
“DEMONS LAY NEAR THE WIELDER, PROCEED WITH CAUTION!” the sword called out.
“Ugh!” Yumeko groaned aloud. Slapping Taiyo, she began to cry again. “I’m having an existential crisis, and you’re playing with some dumb toy sword!” she broke down.
Taiyo looked down at her, realising that she might be right. “It’s not a toy…” he whispered under his breath.
Lifting her wet face to look at him, Yumeko asked “Then what is it!? What is that stupid thing for!?”.
“I don’t know much about it, but I know it’s important…” Taiyo answered whilst reviewing the sword.
Licking her salty tears, Yumeko took the sword from Taiyo, and whacked it in her hand. “WIELDER: YUMEKO ASAMI - RANK 789 LEADERBOARD, A.L. 0!” it told.
“What even is an A.L.?” Yumeko asked, stopping in the middle of the road. Taiyo took the sword back - “Accumulated Level.” he informed back.
“How do you know that?” Yumeko asked Taiyo. Taiyo did not speak back, and only shrugged. “Say, where’d you even come from!?” she then begged. Taiyo shrugged again. “My memory’s all foggy…” he said.
“Can you remember anything?” Yumeko asked.
“No, nothing at all.” Taiyo answered.
“Right,” Yumeko started - “Maybe it’ll come back after a nice meal!”. Taiyo looked down at his stomach, which growled
loudly. “You’re right, hopefully it will!” he cried.
