Maya sat across from Sarah at their favorite café, stirring her coffee absentmindedly. She had just finished telling Sarah about her plan to go on a vacation with Alex, hoping it would help clear her mind and strengthen their relationship.
Sarah listened quietly, her brow furrowed in concern. When Maya finished, Sarah leaned forward, her voice gentle but firm. "Maya, I get that you want to get away for a while, but have you thought about talking to a therapist first? It might help you sort through everything that’s been going on. Running away doesn’t always solve the problem."
Maya sighed, taking a sip of her coffee as she considered Sarah’s words. "I know you’re right, Sarah. And I’m not against therapy—I just feel like I need to reset, you know? I need to focus on Alex and me without all the distractions. Maybe once I’m back, I’ll be in a better place to talk to someone."
Sarah studied her for a moment, clearly still worried. "Just promise me you’ll keep an open mind. If things don’t feel right while you’re away, don’t hesitate to come back and get help. I care about you, Maya, and I want to make sure you’re taking care of yourself."

Maya nodded, grateful for Sarah’s concern. "I promise. But I really think this trip will help. Alex and I need this time together, away from everything. It’ll give us a chance to reconnect."
Satisfied, Sarah gave her a supportive smile. "Okay, but just be careful, and make sure you’re doing this for the right reasons."
Over the next two days, Maya and Alex poured over maps and travel blogs, trying to decide on the perfect destination. They both wanted somewhere that offered a mix of relaxation and adventure, a place where they could escape the pressures of their everyday lives.
After much deliberation, they settled on Canada. The idea of exploring the stunning landscapes, serene lakes, and charming small towns appealed to both of them. They envisioned a trip filled with hiking, cozying up by fireplaces, and rediscovering each other amidst the natural beauty.
"Canada it is," Alex said with a grin as they finalized their plans. "I think this will be good for us, Maya. A fresh start, just what we need."
Maya smiled, feeling a flicker of excitement for the first time in days. "I think so too. It’ll be nice to get away and just focus on us."
As they booked their flights and made arrangements, Maya felt a sense of hope begin to blossom. She knew this vacation wouldn’t solve all their problems, but she hoped it would give them the space they needed to figure things out. And maybe, just maybe, it would help her finally put Jason behind her for good.
