The old man sees him in such a sorry state that he decides to give him the chance of a lifetime.   The old man is a retired fighter, and decides to teach him how to fight, to become proficient with hand to hand combat and some weapons. While on an errand run, he heard stories of a fighting tournament happening. He tells the old man he’ll go to it to test his strength out.   After an intense 11 months of training. He sets off to the thriller isles and registers into the 400 man tournament.   Some of the people he fights seem to have special abilities like transforming into strange & eldrich creatures, while others could control the elements, and even those with psychic abilities are there.   The prize is one very sought after, a very rare weapon or item of their choosing, and 500,000 crels.
