After another fair bit of walking, the creek eventually led up to the foot of the mountain, where the forest had almost completely stopped, which finally gave Frank a clear view where he could potentially set up a home. “I’d prefer not to be too far from here, and preferably something uninhabited.” As he scouted around, he saw a couple bunny looking creatures, but not a whole lot of interest. At least that was until he saw an area where the ground began to incline more and more, until it turned into a rocky cliff. There, it looked like there was an indent that went at least a bit in.
With a burst of energy from spotting an area that may be a potential home, he set off straight away at a brisk pace. Despite almost dropping his sticks or carnips multiple times, he reached the cliff a good 10-15 minutes later. Once he arrived, he was able to confirm that the indent did indeed go further into the rock, though not much more than to make a cave of around six meters deeps and three across. “Phew, there doesn’t seem to be anything in there, nor anything that looks like the remains of prey.”
With the current state of the cave confirmed, he went back out to bring in the food and sticks he had left outside in case there was something he had to run from after peeking inside. Now that he had at least a temporary home, it had become time to figure out what he should focus on next. “Alright, first things first, I should probably check out if that other form has a unique racial ability, seeing as humans have one.” With a deep breath, he closed his eyes and focused on his ability, and for his inner eye, a list with two names appeared. Once he selected Sylvia, he felt his body change in an instant.
The first thing he noticed was the weight pulling on chest, and in response he arced his back ever so slightly to better balance them out. It was only after doing that that it even entered his mind what the change was. “Holy shit.” A hand immediately flew up to cover his mouth at the sound of his new voice. When he opened his eyes, the only changed appeared to be a strand of golden-blonde hair interfering with his vision, but when he moved it behind one ear, he could feel the ear be a fair bit longer than he was used it.
The changes became even more apparent as he took a look down. The first thing to enter his vision was the breasts hanging off his chest, or to be more accurate, the outline of breasts in his green tunic. The only thing left was to check ‘that’ place, and so, a hand moved over to his crotch, and from outside the thick linen pants, carefully felt around for his part. And found it he did, the small jolt he felt from the relatively random touching made him release a small “yelp” as he quickly moved his hand away.
“Yep, that confirms it. I’m a girl now.” Sylvia said to herself before beginning to walk around the cave, quite unsteadily at that, as she wasn’t used to the different center of mass and jiggle of the breasts. “Alright, I better get used to this, as not making use of it would be a complete waste of an ability, and the ability mentioned gaining more appearances, so unless I only want to create guys…”
In the few minutes she walked around and talked with herself, she surprisingly enough, got used to the body. She now walked without issue, the voice sounded natural to her, and all in all, she just felt like she had been born with this body. “Oh yeah, I should probably check the status, that was after all why I changed to this in the first place.”

At the sight of the racial ability, her expression first morphed into a smile before turning into a frown. “Really? If I just knew this, I wouldn’t have taken those carnips with me.” She sighed, aware that she couldn’t do anything about the past and should instead just be happy for knowing now. “Regardless, at least I have some food in case I can’t find any.”
She took a look at the things she had gathered, mainly the sticks of varying lengths. The smallest was about sixty cm and the longest a little more than a meter. “If I find a suitable stone, the small one will probably work as a basic axe and unless I find one a bit longer, the long one should work as a simple spear.” It then struck her that she had completely forgotten about the mana stuff that was the reason she even was there in the first place.

“I could also try to see if any magic stuff works, at least I guess those affinity things relate to magic. That makes the most sense, especially with them being called elements.” After pondering for a bit, she decided to try out earth magic first, as that had a medium affinity and was all around her. With her only two experiences of ‘magic’ being Geb’s actual magic and her own accidental release of mana.
“So, what exactly do I know. Firstly, speaking isn’t necessary to at least release mana; secondly, it appeared that Geb manipulated the pavement instead of creating something new, so manipulation would probably be a good starting point; and thirdly, I don’t know any chanting if that’s even a thing, so I’ll just skip even attempting that. Now there’s just one thing to do. Experiment.”
After going over what she knew, she picked up a small pebble and focused intently on a new shape for it to take, but nothing happened after a minute of trying. “Maybe instead of forcing it directly into a new shape, I should maybe try to pull it instead.” With a new idea in mind, she returned her full focus to the pebble and tried to mentally pull the top up a bit, to form a small spike. As another minute went and she was about to give up, she finally noticed it spike up ever so slightly.
She immediately dropped the pebble and move both hands behind her to lean back on them to rest, it had taken much more of her than expected. “Phew. That was way too hard, hopefully it’s like other skills and gets easier if I practice.” A quick look at her MP shocked her enough to make her fall right onto her back. “23 MP remaining. How could so little have taken so much MP. Geb was able to do a lot more with however much mana there was in my puke. This better just be poor mana control on my part, otherwise, I refuse to believe that anyone can use mana for anything productive.”
She got back up and found a slightly larger pebble to experiment on. “Alright, time to continue this. It felt like something inside of me was just pulled out all across my body and went towards the pebble. I wonder if less will be needed if I’m able to reduce the distance it has to travel. So maybe if I can place my finger on it and channel it directly into it, I would end up spending less mana?” With her next idea decided, she got to work focusing.
This time, it came to her a fair bit easier, though it was still far from easy. As she took a deep breath and tried to focus on the contact between her fingers and the pebble. After multiple seconds of intending on making the pebble spike up, she felt a small tickle in her fingertips and something in her body flow down her arm, all the way to her thumb and index finger. With the steady flow of mana, the pebble slowly began to spike up, though unlike before where it took a lot for a small change, this time it still felt like it took a fair bit, but the effect was much more pronounced.
Over the next half a minute, the pebble spiked up more and more, until it eventually looked like a cone with a relatively flat bottom and smooth surface. That was until it began to sink over her finger to get more material for the spike. Once she realized she had probably done enough, she broke the concentration and felt the flow of mana stop right away. Due to the intense focus, she hadn’t even realized how tiring it had been, and a quick look at her MP informed her that she only had three left.
That meant that making something that reminded her of a cone shaped arrowhead had taken twenty mana, which she still felt was far from good enough to do much of anything in a real situation, but the vast improvement from before told her that it was definitely possible to increase the output while decreasing the cost, which made her excited.
“I think I’ll recover for a bit and then head out to look for rocks and some large leaves to use as bedding.” A rumble then sounded out in the cave, but luckily it was just her stomach. “Hehe, I had completely forgotten about you. I haven’t eaten in a while, so I guess it’s time to dig into one of those carnips.” With a slight smile, she went over to get the half-eaten one and took a bite from the whole side. It tasted kinda like parsnips, which wasn’t exactly her favorite, nor the most disliked, especially when it was cold, but it was oddly sweet, which actually made it taste alright.
As she ate, her mind wandered to some of the stuff she still had no idea what actually did or meant. ‘I wonder what that class stuff is. I remember some games having different classes to play, so unless it’s something that relate to a caste system in this world’s societies, then that’s my best bet. If I go with that, then a fair assumption would be that it at least covers different types of fighting, be it physically or with magic, and maybe also a bit on healing. The thing is just, in some games, it’s also possible to get a crafting class, though those are more often sub-classes, but as I don’t know if that’s even a thing here, I’ll go with the assumption that if I want a production class, I need it as the main class.’
By the time she had finished her deduction, most of the remains carnip had been eaten, making her feel quite full and fairly satisfied. Her mana had also recovered a few points in the meantime, but she decided to not do more magic stuff right now, other things came first. “I think that one of these two forms should be a production class, so that I can make actually good stuff for my survival, while the other will definitely be a combat class of some kind, so I can defend myself and hopefully hunt some animals as well.”
“The question is just, who will fight and who will craft. There’s part of me that wants to fight in my old body, as that simply seems cool, but I think it’s best to do it in this form, as I’ll then walk around the forest, learn the area, and I can’t get lost. I also get a boost to some elemental affinities, so that’ll hopefully be helpful. The quicker class and skill level up from humans might also be useful in quickly improving my craft.”
She took a good look at the sticks after getting up, before deciding not to bring any and that she’d rather just find some in the forest, if need be. “Time to go. A long and solid stick would be a good find.” With those words disappearing into the air, she left the cave and headed for the forest.
