XG 25 - Jump, and I will kill you
Coincidentally, they reached the third floor which also had more survivors noticing them.
Wong Xue Guo felt a sense of panic seeing their faces lit up upon seeing them. “Why do I feel something bad might happen…”
“Yibo, can this thing go faster?” Suzie Yap asked with a taut face. She was the clearest on what humans would do just to survive.
“This is the fastest,” Chen Yibo said. It was expected, as this carriage was designed for the purpose of convenience and safety of the worker.
Someone above managed to pry open the window and yelled, “Bring us too!”
“Shit!” Chen Jiang An cursed when he saw that person wanted to jump down.
“Don’t!” Wong Xue Guo yelled in panic as she grasped the metal sides tighter but the person had already jumped down. She could already imagine the wires supporting the carriage would break down from the extra weight added in rather forcefully.
Suzie Yap quickly grabbed her daughter, hiding her in her embrace, and stabilized them with her knees bent when the person landed roughly in the carriage. Wong Xue Guo’s scream was muffled against her mother’s shirt as she felt the carriage swinging back and forth dangerously.
Unbalanced, Kim Sung-Ho smacked against the railing, and Vihaan quickly dragged him back to the center. Despite the fierce swinging, he still took the time to rub the boy’s upper arm that was hit.
“I don’t feel pain,” Kim Sung-Ho said to calm Vihaan down, but it only made the older man feel distressed. Once he knew Kim Sung-Ho was special, Vihaan could no longer view the young boy as ordinary and grew even more worried about him.
The carriage had not stabilized properly yet when another person wanted to jump down after seeing someone succeed.
Suzie Yap's eyes turned cold immediately, which was in contrast to her soothing motion of rubbing her daughter's back. The carriage was already loudly groaning in protest from the extra weight that was forcefully added. Another will definitely break down one of the main wires and unbalance them.
The carriage barely passed the third floor, and their fall would definitely break their bones, if they were lucky that was the most serious injury. Suzie Yap could jump down from this height without serious injury if she was by herself, but her fragile daughter was now with her.
She never thought she would need to show her daughter this degree of cruelty this early in the game.
Pulling out her handgun, she shot up at the sky and the loud bang successfully stopped that person from jumping.
"Jump, and I will kill you." Suzie Yap promised. "If you want to survive, find a rope and climb down by yourself."
"How can you just leave without helping us?" A woman yelled, sounding righteous as she questioned them. "There is still space there!"
"Jump if you dare to eat my bullet!" Suzie Yap dared them with a sneer.

"Bullshit! Murder is a crime!" A man yelled.
"Who cares what she says anyway? She is just talking big!" A college boy exclaimed and jumped down.
A loud gasp escaped Wong Xue Guo's lips as she watched the figure coming closer in horror. She hurriedly grabbed her mother as she reached out at the dangling rope with another hand. But Suzie Yap slipped away from her and charged towards the shadow. With a roundhouse kick, she sent the figure off the course, and the college boy screamed as he fell straight down the building.
Covering her mouth, Wong Xue Guo shuddered fiercely when her ears caught the sound of a body hitting the ground. She does not dare to look and ignored the terrified screams coming from inside the building.
Her mother murdered a person just to save them. But those people would not think so, just to argue for their own sake.
Even the first man that jumped onto the carriage trembled at Suzie Yap's cruelty and dragged himself to the corner, trying to keep himself out of her sight.
Suzie Yap stared up at those people gazing at her and smiled. "Any more coming?"
No one dared to try the crazy woman.
The carriage finally reached the bottom without any more trouble, but they were immediately surrounded by guns pointing at them. The area was completely empty of civilians and those that remained were from the military force.
They would not hesitate to shoot if not for Suzie Yap opening her mouth first. “Thank you for not shooting us on sight. Can I trouble you to pass a message to your leader that Suzie Yap is here?”
The guns did not lower at all.
“Surely you can see we do not have skeleton thin figures, white hair, or snarling inhumanly at you? Please pass my word to Sergeant Bolek. Now would be a good time.”
Upon hearing their superior's name, one of the soldiers finally moved and jogged away to send the message, while others continued to stand on guard.
“Soldiers, would you mind if we get out of this carriage?” Suzie Yap asked politely.
Receiving a consenting nod, Suzie Yap jumped out of the carriage without a sound as if she did not weigh much. Then she reached back to help Wong Xue Guo out.
Vihaan spotted a low latch and only then recognized there was a short metal gate installed. He exited through it with Kim Sung-Ho in his arms, looking at the guns warily.
Chen Jiang An nudged the paralyzed man that had forcefully hitchhiked with them, who then only scrambled out of the carriage. The fearful man stood far away from Suzie Yap, afraid that the petty woman would do something to him.
None of them dared to look at the dead body lying not far away from them with a smashed head and open eyes.
Cheng Jiang An does not dare to swallow, fearing that it would induce vomit. Kim Sung-Ho does not look much better either with his green face. As for Wong Xue Guo, her mother hugged her trembling frame, making sure her body blocked the dead body from her sight.
The last to get out was Chen Yibo, whose head was lowered with no one knowing what he was thinking. But it was not a peaceful thought with how tight his fists were until they trembled from the pressure.
“Save us! Please!” Someone above yelled out of the window, disregarding the risk of attracting the zombies to their hiding place.
Chen Yibo released a deep breath and swiftly pressed the button for the carriage to go up. He raised his gaze resolutely towards the guns that had been directed to him as soon as he did that. There was no regret in doing so even if he might be shot. At least, he gave those survivors a way to escape.
His heart had been suffocating since Mrs Wong pushed the man away, even if he understood that letting the second man in will lead the third and fourth over.
“Yibo!” Chen Jiang An wanted to rush to his cousin but was afraid to step into the gun’s sight. “Why did you do that? They won’t be able to get in without going to the rooftop first anyway!”
“My heart feels better doing that, even if it might be meaningless.”
Chen Jiang An clutched his head. 'Ah, shit. Why would his cousin take this time to rebel against rules anyway?!'
But his action was not meaningless once a person managed to get into the carriage before it reached the rooftop. It was a small boy who managed to jump into the carriage with a loud thud that had the metal box swing violently. His mother told him to quickly control the carriage so that she can get in.
The soldiers finally changed their target from Chen Yibo to the survivors getting into the carriage and Chen Jiang An hurriedly dragged his cousin away.
Wong Xue Guo was gently pushed behind Suzie Yap, using her body to hide the former from view when a group of men headed in their direction.
