Chapter 12: Cast of Characters

So we're going to take a look at some of the cast of characters in the Seventh Seal.

Captain Aldric:

Captain Aldric rolled out as a standard human fighter, but surprisingly low stats in STR, DEX, and CON. This was fine by me, because frankly, he's the Captain. He's supposed to be intelligent, insightful, and charismatic. He carries a standard Anglish saber on his hip, and in his bracer is a two-shot derringer pistol.

The scuttlebutt around the Seventh Seal is that he at one time ranked high in the Anglish military. High enough at least that he was able to argue with the Queen of Angland and only faced exile, rather than execution. Whether that's the truth or not is....

Commander Daveth:

Commander Daveth is a half-giant. His first level was Barbarian, to reflect his rages. He once went on a rampage in his home town that resulted in the deaths of several people. Aldric offered to take him into the Seventh Seal on the recommendation of a monk calling himself Darius, who taught him discipline and focus. The rest of Daveth's class levels are currently secret. His stats rolled out well. He's aces across the line physically and his WIS and CHA are respectable as well. Daveth's barely literate, doesn't understand large or complicated words. He's an intuitive man. He thinks he was born in Angland, but he speaks a language that no Anglish understands.

Audra:

Audra is an elven Ranger, with a high amount of DEX and CHA. She's a friendly sort of person, and doesn't discriminate. Her sister (who won't show up in this story) is a Druid, and she's a lot less sociable. Audra willingly takes on extra duties because she wants to push herself to see how far she can go, how much she can accomplish. has a small amount of druidic magical talent taught to her by her sister, but she doesn't use it often.

Jonan:

Jonan's a bit past his prime, but he knows how to fight and do it well. He's got well-rounded stats, and he's got the "leadership" feat, but this really only extends to him being able to train others in the way of fighting.

Eirawen:

Eirawen is what you'd get if you crossed a half-giant with an elf. She's robust, flexible, and incredibly strong. She's not terribly charismatic or intelligent. She was made a Champion of Eisa, Goddess of Snow literally days before the War of Liberation tore her Goddess from the sky. More than three hundred years have gone by, and she still doesn't know what to make of her circumstances. Her spells primarily revolve around buffing her already ridiculous strength, ice spells, and a constant slow regenerative ability.

The Wolf-Blood Sisters, Alysia and Lynnabel (and Aurene too)

The Order of the Wolf is secretive, but what's known is that it's a sorority. There are four ranks: Gold, Silver, White, and Blood. It'd take entirely too long to explain the organization and disposition of the Order of the Wolf, and they're not the focus of the story, but a short explanation would be ...

Golds excel in all things. Top rank, first string, best of the best. They're arrogant and prideful, but actually have the stat block to back it up.

Silvers aren't nearly as strong as Golds, but make up for it in strategem.

Whites rarely take to the field, as they're more focused on logistics, weapon and armor smithing, and maintaining their fortress-monastary. When they do take to the field, they're the ones who prefer cavalry and archery, since their base stats are much lower than Golds and Silvers. They have a much higher rate of regeneration than any other rank.

Nobody talks about the Blood Wolves.

Jasin:

Jasin is a half-elf rogue with a touch of magic. He prefers to be alone not because he's unsociable, he just feels more comfortable apart from others. Has a high opinion of the Seventh Seal in general and wants to do his best for his team members. Low stats across the board; a ground-pounder.

Other Characters:

Eleven: Nobody knows who or what Eleven is. She's very interested in Daveth, for incomprehensible reasons known only to herself. Demands stories in payment for things. She's chaotic, mercurial, and just looking at her, she's quite insane. Whatever emotions she shows, it's obvious she's not quite doing them right, as if they're foreign to her.
