They make their way downstairs in a hurry and started drinking the boba tea beside the counter.

Suddenly, Zei thought of something while drinking boba tea "Hey, Kai, Don't you think life could be so much easier in another world? I mean we would probably be protagonists and get overpowered powers. School is just so boring and I have to study all the time"

"Stop! you're setting up a flag. what's with you always setting up flags? Also, do you really think being in another world will be so easy? Let's say we get in an RPG-type world We would have to beat monsters and grind levels." Kaideru said in response.

"Hah! We would totally be protagonists and get overpowered weapons at the start!"

"This kid... Wait, aren't we supposed to be studying for a test?"

"Oh, well, it's getting late I'm gonna go leave now." Zei said as he runs off with the boba tea in hand.

As twilight sets in. The Immeasurable beauty of the night can be observed. The fathomless deep blue night sky can be seen with Zei walking peacefully on the sidewalk. He opens his mouth as if willing to speak a word.

"HOLY CRAP THIS IS SCARY. IT'S SO DARK. IT'S NOT THAT LATE YET WHY IS IT SO DARK! DAMNIT I'M RUNNING HOME AND THEN PLAYING GAMES!" Zei said followed with heavy panting.

Both of them go off on their own ways, Kaideru, reviewing for a bit of time and then playing a video game, while Zei reviews diligently, but dozes off while doing so.

The next morning as the sun rises and Zei and Kaideru prepare to leave. The school took their exams and handed out their grades.

"Oi, Zei, How were exams?"

Zei sighed and said, "It was pretty easy, although I did forget a formula..."

"Idiot. This is why you study, Don't worry it's only a few points. Oh, by the way, Are you gonna join the practice match at the volleyball club?"

"Oh, Yeah, I will."

"Hehe, I want to smash their faces with a volleyball stronger than the force of a meteor on impact at max speed." Kaideru said that with a face brimming with determination and confidence.

"Natsumekuu-kun What score did you get?" A girl approached their desk which was at the corner of the class and asked.

"Ohh, I got-"

"Yo, Zei What's your score?" A friend and volleyball player of them also approached and asked

"I got-"

"Yooo Mekuu-kun, What's your score on the test?" A basketball player asked

"I got 95 on the test." Zei said with a disappointed face.

"Aww, What!? I only got 89, Wait why do you even look so disappointed?" The girl that asked them said

"Hah! You are talking to a perfectionist, Fool!" Kaideru said with a jokingly low voice imitating an antagonist.

The girl ignored Kaideru and went back to talking with Zei.

"Okay, I got ignored. It took me a long time to withdraw from that shell." Disappointment is smothered over Kaideru's face

"Aww, It's fine Kaideru-san. You always get 100 and I respect that."

"Haha! Thank you for lifting up the spirits of thy mighty Kaideru."

"Hey Kai, You're still sad aren't you?"

"No..." While he went back to his desk to sulk.

A week has passed almost instantly and the two were playing volleyball against another school.

"OI, ZEI! SET TO ME!"

As the ball gets tossed up beautifully into the air, and then Kaideru jumps off leaving behind air trails from the speed of he jumped off. What follows is a powerful sound that matches that of an explosion can be heard echoing through the large walls of the building.

"Hey hey hey! Nice set Zei." While giving a thumbs up.

"Ugh, I'm feeling tired I want to go home." Zei said while slouching his back.

"Feeling tired? But this is only the 2nd set though." Kaideru asked, but suddenly looked at the opposing side He slapped Zei's back as if saying "Be prepared the enemy is serving."

Zei went near the net to prepare to set the next ball, while Kaideru prepared by readying his receiving stance.

The server from the other school did a jumping float serve.

The ball had no spin and no predictable movement. It was received by the libero but the receive was off and went to the far right side of the court near the net.

"I GOT IT!" "MINE"

These were two words uttered at the same time. It echoed across Zei and Kaideru's mind.

After a bit of lingering, Everything was slowly being engulfed in darkness. It was only a matter of time before it became pure black. The only thing the eyes can convey was the unending void of nothing. The void in which it spreads to no extent. A drop of water that rippled across the void can be seen, and a bolt of lightning struck right after.

After lingering for a long time without consciousness, Kaideru and Zei opened their eyes. They seemed to be in a whole new place where the green grass covers the ground with multiple small hills perfect for a picnic. A town could also be seen from afar and it seemed like humans reside there. The scenery which was only seen in movies. It seemed like another world. There was a huge problem though, A huge unworldly-like creature was staring at them. It had a crab claw for its right arm and its legs are of bears, The rest of its body belonged to an alligator.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!"

"Wait, who is that"

"Who's talking"

"Did I become shorter?" "Did I become taller?"

"WHO'S SAYING THAT"

"Hey! Who's inside me right now" Kaideru said with his mind which could be heard from the right side of the conciousness.

"Hehe, that's what she said" Zei responded which was from the opposing side.

"See? I knew you'd set up a flag. Let's calm down and think for a second. Let's try to move our body." The combined body said calmingly

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN CALM WE ARE GONNA DIE!" Zei said, contrasting to the previous calm,

After a few seconds with the alligator closer. Their hearts race, with adrenaline, kicking in and they finally managed to stand up.

"Oi, We start with the right leg then go the left leg okay?" Kaideru said with a calm voice

"What do you mean, I'm left-handed let's go left leg then right leg"

"Fine. Just go faster we are gonna get mauled by that thing soon."

As they finally learned how to run with their combined bodies, They ran in the direction of the town which was opposite to the alligator-like creature.

"KAI, WE ARE NOT WIDENING THE GAP AT ALL. CAN'T WE RUN ANY FASTER?"

As they were near to the town. The alligator-like creature caught up. It did a swing with its crab-like claw which knocked them down and gave them such intense pain, that they couldn't bear to stand up.

"So..." After a bit of pausing they continued while they rotated their back so it faces the ground "this is the end, huh?" They closed their eyes accepting this reality, and their fate.

The creature roared and was gonna bite with its alligator head. It slowly approached Zei and Kaideru's end with saliva coming out. It seemed like all hope is lost.

After a couple of seconds of closing their eyes, Their heart began to slow down and the body became pale accepting death itself. A white light emerges.

"Am I in heaven?" It came from the left side of the conciousness of this combined body, it was clear to both of them that this was Zei.

"Nah, Probably not, because I can still hear you" A voice which came from the opposing right side replied back.

They opened their eyes followed by a surprised face.

What they saw was completely different from what they expected. It was the sunny blue vast sky.

"Wait, what happened?" They said with a hint of pain.

A man with a tall and strong figure came to us. He was holding a bow and arrow with a sword sheathed on his right side. The alligator-like creature was laying on the floor with an arrow through its head. It had burn marks that surrounded the arrow.

"Hey, Are you alright? Seemed like you were chased by an Arigifin. That was close, huh? Drink this so you would feel better." The man that saved Zei and Kaideru said with a calm manner then proceeded to give them water with herbs inside.

"We are fine." They said followed by a groan showing pain.

"We? Is there another one of you here?" The tall man looked around more while asking.

They just didn't respond as they didn't know how to explain, They kept quiet while hinting their pain to ignore the question. They consumed the water while laying down, then stood up and walked while still feeling the pain.

"The name is Higoyokuhi. This is The town of Simola, A town where humans reside. I am a guardian and adventurer of this town with fire magic. Nice to meet you." He explained to both Kaideru and Zei, who looked like they came from another country with their volleyball uniform which only had a jersey on top of a t-shirt and shorts, paired with shoes.

The hinted pain from Kaideru and Zei caught on to Higoyokuhi and told them "Since you were hurt by that Arigifin. I know an inn nearby that gives good medicine and has a good healer."

The man had a gentle deep voice, so it felt like he could be trusted by Kaideru and Zei.

"Sure."

While walking towards the inn, The town was a beautiful and peaceful sight. People walked by with smiles on their faces. Many shops surround the pathway with rowdy shopkeepers advertising their wares. As they were walking they slslsaw a blue-haired girl trapped in a cage with 3 people that looks like adventurers walking beside it.

"Is this a trap? Are we gonna be taken? Are we gonna die? Are we gonna be tortured? What if that large guy was a monster? What if we get trapped like that blue-haired girl? Is she a slave?" They muttered.

"Chill for a bit, Kai, he's nice and saved us. none of that will probably happen, that blue-haired girl probably chose to be inside that."

"Well, looking closer her face doesn't look like she's suffering, she looks more like she's relieved...?"

"See, I told you."

Higoyokuhi looked at them because they said this out loud.

"If you don't mind me asking, who are you talking to?" Higoyokuhi said with a gentle smile and a confused look.

"Ohhhh- no one, I'm sure you heard someone different"

"Zei, we should make sure that we talk with our thoughts more. People on this new world might think of us as suspicious people and label us as witches and stake us off."

While this conversation which was happening within their minds, Higoyokuhi led them to an inn. It had a sign saying Nature's Dream Inn with big characters along with smaller characters at the bottom read as "Town's best inn" Is that self-professed?

"This is the inn, I'll leave it up to the caretaker here. Don't worry, She's a nice person." Higoyokuhi then went inside

"Ooohh, a girl? wonder if she's hot" Zei said with his mind

"Closet pervert."

"Shut up, Let's just go to the inn, the spot where the alligator hit still hurts."

"Fine."

After going inside, It wasn't too full yet nor too empty.

Higoyokuhi asked for someone to what looks like a receptionist.

The receptionist lady showed Zei and Kaideru the way to the room where they take care of patients. Seemed like Zei and Kaideru were the only one there as of the moment. "Maybe people don't tend to get hurt?" Both of them thought

"Hanachiryou!" The receptionist called for the name Hanachiryou and someone went to our room. As the person comes closer...

Zei and Kaideru encountered her, a beautiful nurse.

She doesn't have a too curvy figure

She could be mistaken as a goddess from afar.

Her height is perfect with her being at nose level.

Her hair is crimson deep red with a braid hanging over her shoulders

Her eyes, which were green similar to the beauty of nature.

"Hello! I am Hanachiryou. I will be taking care of you. Please sit down at this bed and I'll be asking you some questions" She said with such a heartwarming smile.

Her voice is cute yet caring at the same time.

"Will this girl be our party member or something? She's the deal!"

"Oi! Zei what are you thinking about. Instead of that, think of what name we will use. Of course, we can't use just one of ours"

"Oh crap! I forgot you can hear my thoughts!"

"This kid..."

"Ahh never mind that, If you are uncomfortable or still can't speak anything because of pain I'll leave it alone." The nurse with a confused look said to them.

"Kai, This is the heroine, right? For sure this is the heroine. She's perfect"

"Why do I feel so much disappointment coming from you, and it's actually scaring me."

"I'm curious, what element are you proficient with? You look like someone from another country. It is quite rare that someone who wasn't born from this region comes to this place."

"I don't know." They said this with a disappointing tone.

"Maybe your country doesn't offer that test. Well, If that's so then you can go to the town hall to get yours tested." She stood up and went towards one of the cabinets. While going back to Zei and Kaideru, she noticed the sun setting down from the window behind them "Oh, It's getting late, I suggest going there tomorrow instead. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure you won't be the only person at your age there."

"Please be together with me forever Hanachiryou-senpai" Zei wanted to say this

"...."

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry please don't get more disappointed at me, I might die!"

"Here are some herbs which will remove the pain eventually, I didn't sense broken bones from you so this will be enough to soothe you. Put them in water and drink them every night. In the mean time you can go to the receptionist and ask for a room."

"I actually don't have any money on me."

"Oh, actually, Higoyokuhi already paid for the medications and room, What a nice guy right?"

"Oi, Zei, I sense some jealousy from you. Hah, fool." They continued to communicate between thoughts.

"Shut up."

Kaideru and Zei did as they were told and went to the receptionist for a room. She gladly showed the way and inside was a bed with a drawer and a mirror at the opposite side, without hesitation they went to check themselves at the mirror first.

"Humu, It seems like our appearance and body type combined into one. I definitely look so much shorter and uglier, Right Zei?"

"What do you mean uglier! I'm the one that's supposed to feel uglier also being tall is hard. I feel heavier for some reason!"

"Maybe that's because we're tired and adding on top of that you being short at our world made you feel heavy."

They sighed and said,"I'm tired as well, Let's go to sleep, a new adventure begins tomorrow!"

As they close their eyes, they took a deep breath, their heartbeat beats slower, as the moon's light was seeping through the window, and the relaxing atmosphere surrounded them. They fell asleep immediately..."

"Hey Kai, Do we really need to write the story of how we get transported into this world? It's not that important."

"Oi, Zei What are you talking about, What if a demon succubus creature with bat wings takes our memories when we have to save the world. It's done anyways let's just rest. I feel tired and that crab claw attack still hurts."

"Yeah~, fine, I feel tired as well"

We lie at the bed that was provided by Hanachiryou-san. We closed their eyes and took a deep breath, our heartbeats slows down. The moon's light was seeping beautifully while it hit our faces through the window and the relaxing atmosphere that surrounded us in this inn.

"Did I forget to lock the door? What if a thief or a burglar goes in?

What if that beautiful nurse is a goblin that can shapeshift to anything? Am I gonna die in my sleep?"

"KAI SHUT UP! Forget about those and just sleep damn it! None of that will happen! This town is well protected and safe okay?"

"You're right" I sighed.

More unnecessary thoughts dwelled into my mind before feeling drowsy enough to sleep

"Hey Zei, what do you think will happen to our original bodies? How about our family, How do they feel right now? It was just a collide when we were playing volleyball right? How did we get knocked down so hard or maybe even die from a bump? Hell, why are we even one?"

"..."

"I don't even know the answer to that myself. Don't worry I feel you. Literally"

"Let's just forget about all that and complete this world first. Maybe then we would know what happened to us"

"You're right."

As fatigue sets in and thoughts are cleared from my mind. Before sleeping, I turned back to my side and said quietly with my own throat

"My adventure finally begins."
