Chapter 713:
One of the men frowned. “Are you sure we shouldn’t take the lead? The higher-ups might not like us holding back.”
Yashiro whirled on him, landing a hard slap across his face. “Idiot! Do you even know what kind of monster we’re dealing with? The head of that lab could crush you in an instant. Go ahead and charge if you’re so eager to die.”
The goon saw stars from the slap and nodded repeatedly. “You’re right, Mr. Cullen! My mistake!”
The group of henchmen stood paralyzed, their fear of Yashiro’s wrath evident in their wary glances. No one wanted to be the next victim of his temper.noveldrama
But one man, bolder than the rest and eager to curry favor, stepped forward. “Mr. Cullen, why don’t we just leave them be? That beauty over there looks like she’s ready and waiting just for you,” he suggested with a sly grin.
At his words, every head turned toward Allison.
Keeping her gaze fixed on the floor, she masked her thoughts with a facade of quiet unease, her expression carefully neutral. Yashiro’s irritation melted away the moment he took in her delicate features again. His anger ebbed like a tide receding, replaced by a predatory smirk.
Adjusting his belt, he barked at the group, “Listen up, whatever happens, stay out of it. Do you hear me? I’ll enjoy this woman, and if she resists, I won’t show any mercy. Ignore her scream when I torment her.”
The henchman who had been slapped earlier nodded vigorously, eager to please. “Of course, Mr. Cullen. We wouldn’t dare interrupt you.”
To them, Allison was just a fragile woman, incapable of posing any threat.
Yashiro, visibly pleased, patted the goon’s head like a dog that had performed a trick and waved his men toward the exit. “Now get lost, all of you, and don’t even think about coming back until I call for you, or I’ll kill you,” he ordered.
“Yes, Mr. Cullen,” they replied in unison, wearing overly eager smiles as they filed out of the warehouse. The heavy door shut behind them with a metallic clang, sealing Allison and Yashiro inside.
The space was crude and foreboding, a makeshift container with nothing but a flickering fluorescent bulb overhead. The eerie stillness could have convinced anyone this was a place abandoned by the living.
Allison let her eyes sweep across the room, taking in its layout. Then her gaze shifted to Yashiro standing before her, her demeanor sharp and focused, a chill emanating from her. “So, you’ve already lost an eye. Wouldn’t it make sense to be a little more compassionate?” she said in a cold tone.
Her words caught the thug off guard.
He blinked, his confidence wavering momentarily as he tried to comprehend the change in her demeanor.
“What did you just say?” he asked, narrowing his good eye at her, suspicion creeping into his voice. “You wretch, how dare you talk to me like this?”
