Daenerys was a vibrant country teeming with life, where the streets bustled with a diverse array of faces. The city served as a welcoming haven for people of various races and backgrounds, drawing them in with its reputation for safety and security.
In the heart of the city, people gathered in various groups, be it at bustling taverns or on lively street corners. All conversations seemed to revolve around a singular topic, "The fall of the Kudrow mansion and its people."
The news had spread like wildfire, becoming a topic of intense interest and speculation among the city's inhabitants.
The dingy tavern buzzed with lots of speculation. At a corner table, a grizzled old man stroked his beard in thought. 'No bodies found at all? I don't buy it,. ' he grumbled. "You don't just make champions like Jonathan and Millis disappear."
"I heard everyone died - the Kudrows and the bastards who attacked them," whispered a gruff man in the crowded tavern. His drinking companion slammed down his mug in astonishment.
Someone else added "How could anyone defeat Jonathan and Millis?" he exclaimed. "They were legends!"
At a nearby table, a thin man spoke quietly to his group. "Something seems off. How could an attack happen at night without warning? The king must be involved."
"Hush!" a woman at his side scolded. "Don't spread rumors. The Kudrows were heroes, even the king knows that."
Another man chimed in, "No bodies were even found. Are we sure they're dead?"
The thin man shook his head grimly and said. "The king announced it himself".
Everyone sighed "hmmm" and then someone else spoke again.
"Although we've lost our champions, one thing is certain - Daenerys will never be the same."
Everyone nodded in agreement. Without knowing the full truth of what transpired, the stories continued to circulate throughout Daenerys. Only the king and a select few, including Ballack, the sole survivor of the Kudrow mansion, knew the real story behind the tragic event.
"........."
Amidst the surroundings, a young man walked with a hood concealing his features. On his back, he carried a young girl, seemingly around 13-14 years old. Only a glimpse of her hair was visible, peeking out from beneath her hood.
Ethan kudrow and Mabel.
Ethan's mind retraced the conversation with Ballack.
"Even with these, I can't bring myself to harm both of you. I would never forgive myself," Ballack confessed.
"Sir Ballack, wh-why are you doing this?" Ethan asked, his voice filled with confusion. This man called ballack was asked to protect them .

"The same way your parents are fighting to protect you two is the same for me too. My family's life is at stake, and I have no choice," Ballack explained with a heavy heart. "You won't understand, young master."
" But look, my family still haven't lost yet we can all still survive this" Ethan said trying to convince ballack.
" You are right, but my family won't. I'm sorry young master there's another choice I can make you must become strong to protect your sister " ballack replied with a solemn expression.
Ballack raised his hand and slammed both Mabel and Ethan, knocking them unconscious.
"I hope you survive, young master. I'm really sorry, but I choose my family first," Ballack said with a heavy heart before leaving.
Ballack took a pouch filled with a sum of money and placed it in the palms of the unconscious Ethan. Then, he took his sword and sliced his palm, pouring the blood on his face, and walked down the mountain.
The only thing I remember was Mabel waking me, and we both raced down to the mansion only to see everything ruined with nothing at all.
Mabel cried, and I just stood there watching without any way of consoling her.
"Hmmm, I don't know anywhere in this city " Ethan said as he looked at Mabel, her face looked cold. she's been quite since leaving the mansion.
'I don't blame her, a kid who lost both parents to the kingdom they protected; she must be shocked' he thought with pity in his eye's, " Okay Mabel, let's find a place to eat first and then a room for today."
'That's right, I really need to find a place where I can think about what to do and how we are going to live from now on.' he thought as they both walked through the bustling street of Daenerys.
"........"
In a dark room , four men were present with the king breaking the silence.
" So, what's the report" the king inquired
A knight named Alistair strode forward and spoke.
"Your majesty, it's as you thought. The people are devastated and sad, but no one knows or suspects anything."
"Hahaha," the king stroked his beard, feeling pleased with the news, and his sharp gaze fell on someone else.
"Ballack, you did a good job, but are you sure there are no loose ends?"
"Yes, your majesty. There's nothing to worry about. As much as it pained me to have committed a crime, I will live with it for the rest of my life. My family's life is more precious to me," Ballack confessed with a heavy heart, still feeling the weight of his actions.
"Hmmm, I believe you. Now Jung pyo, your report," the smile on the king's face vanished as Jung pyo strode forward and bowed. Then he spoke, "My king, the people that went there were all trash and no one survived except us both. It seems Jonathan and Millis both lost their minds after hearing about the death of their children. If not for that..." With his head raised, Jung pyo slowly looked at the king with a smile and continued. " We would have all failed, hehehe"
"Jung pyo, watch how you speak. Don't forget whose presence you are in," Alistair said in an intimidating tone.
Jung pyo waved his hand lightly at Alistair , "Yeah yeah," with he's gaze falling on the king and he continued, " your majesty. I hope you will keep your promise with me."
"Don't worry, haha. Today's news is good. Now there's no power to rival the king again in this kingdom, hahaha," the king chuckled.
"Ballack, you may leave. Your families life will be saved," the king said, granting Ballack permission to go.
As Ballack left the room and slammed the door, the king gave an order to the knight, "Watch every move Ballack makes for the next few days. Meanwhile, tend to his family."
"Yes, your majesty," the knight replied.
As everyone left the room, the king felt a sense of satisfaction. With power comes greed, and the king's dream seemed grand.
"........."
Ethan stared helplessly at the innkeeper, clutching the small pouch of coins Ballack had given him. The innkeeper rattled off room rates, but this worlds currency meant nothing to Ethan.
The past few days before the attack on his new family, he had read about many things, but he never bothered to read about the kingdom's currency as there wasn't any need for him to while staying in the mansion.
