Future of the Story

Hello to all you readers who kept hope alive by not taking this story off your notifications list,

The story isn't dead yet. It is still on hiatus. You might remember the multiple times I started/stopped regular posting as I couldn't keep up with the pace (and the varying quality of some of those chapters ...) and then my projections about when I'd post again (that missed the mark by a long, long time). Seeing the writing on the wall I put the story on hiatus while I dealt with life and plugged away at the story as I could.

Life has been ... life. Troublesome, amazing, difficult and enriching in equal measures. I now not only have a higher position in my career field (translation, more work) but a new child of my own (whoo!). Last chapter I posted included an encouragement for those with thoughts of suicide (thanks to those who have followed up with me since then - your messages are always appreciated) and it's a milestone when the impact of that kind of loss leads to proactiveness that prevents repeat performance.

You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

Seaborn is sailing (drifting sometimes, I admit) towards its epilogue. I had an epilogue in mind day 1, and while getting there has been difficult the goal remains.

I have been posting chapters to Patreon since I went on hiatus. I notified my patrons of the incoming hiatus same time as RR, but a handful of folks kept supporting me anyway. As I see it those folks are crazy for paying for months when I've got such a rough posting schedule, but they deserve a medal for their prompting to keep this story from falling off the radar.

My goal is to complete the story, then resume uploads to RoyalRoad (which will mean NO MORE INTERRUPTIONS TO POSTING!) If you see the story on Amazon before then, do me a favor and ignore it while I fight with Amazon and the pirates who ripped it from this site (thanks to Chaser who found it and brought it to my attention).

Thank you all for your patience. If you're not patient ... well, thank you for your interest and your passion.
