12 Yang (Part 2)

12 Yang (Part 2)

"Hey old man"

Hui looked back at Shin.

"What's a Realm of the Sun?" Shin leaned forward, he had heard Theseus call the place they were currently in 'The Realm of Greece' but why did he call it that

Theseus answered "It's your home country, Japan"

"Wait really?!" His face brightened up, it was odd hearing about a country from earth in a different world, though he had gotten used to it since his arrival at Greece

"Oi Potatoface" Yang called out towards Shin "You make it sound like you just spawned like a creeper"

'Potato?' Shin exclaimed silently

"Anyways going on" Theseus cut off the two "Our good friend from the Realm of China basically wants us to guide his crew to Corinth"

"We never said where we're from, emo" Yang shot a look at the demigod

"Don't need to" Theseus sighed

Shin went into his usual thinking pose with his arms folded and eyes closed. Day after day, he was discovering new things in heaven but this one left him shocked… though another thought came to mind.

"So why are they called realms?" Shin asked all curious "And how many are they?"

"It's hard to explain" Theseus scratched his head

"I don't mind"

Theseus began "Think of heaven like your world, only that it keeps stretching to infinity. Because of that, realms began forming to try and fill it up, and these realms are also endlessly large on top of that."

Shin tilted his head, he at least had a basic understanding on what Theseus said so far. "So these worlds…"

"Are meant to mirror some of the countries on Earth? Yeah…" Theseus affirmed with a nod "In a way…"

"What do you mean?"

-KOFF KOFF

Hui let out a cough trying to get the attention of the two, succeeding in the process.

"Old man?" Shin turned towards the monk

Theseus glared back at the man

"Scholars, astronomers, even philosophers have studied Heaven and it's foundation" Hui explained "No one knows how it began, but it's a known fact…"

He grabbed a few grains of sand and let it slip through his fingers easily

"The realms of heaven are as much as these very grains of sand, you can't even comprehend their numbers no matter how high you count"

Shin was left speechless, countless worlds out there with their own settings. His heart began racing at the thought of exploring each of those worlds. Theseus sighed, he didn't know stuff like this excited his partner.

"Anyways back to you old man"

Hui Minghao turned back to Theseus who took a seat on a nearby log.

"You say you need a bodyguard, why should we help you?"

Yang, who was resting, shot a glare at the demigod. Hui chuckled softly.

"'Why' you ask? Should an adventurer really be demanding rewards from a-"

"Save me that bullshit" Theseus cut off the monk "I ain't running some charity service, and I expect an extra fee for blocking my path earlier"

Silence filled the area where both parties stood. Shin who sat down at the cart thought to himself

'You're being too hardcore Theseus'

Though Shin didn't like Theseus' behavior towards the monks, he decided to put himself in his position. Things were becoming a bit pricey, especially after his arrival. Though he didn't think others would understand.

"I understand" said Hui with a nod

'JUST LIKE THAT?!' Shin reacted

Hui searched his pocket for a while before bringing out a money bag.

"How much will that be?"

"A hundred stars per adults" Theseus gestured as he tried counting the members of the group excluding Yang and the old man. They were thirty three in total, seven children and twenty six adults "and fifty per children"

"You damn cheat?" Yang snarled, who the hell was this guy to start demanding payment from old people?

"Deal with it furball" Theseus shot back

"What? Because you're an adventurer you think you suddenly run the place?"

Theseus now turned back and began walking back towards the horse-drawn cart. He wasn't going to entertain this boy's bait no matter how tempting it was.

"Yang!" Hui snapped at the boy

"Why the hell are you standing up for this prick?!" Yang answered in anger "'Adventurer' my ass!"

"This young man has a lot on his shoulders, and he's being generous by offering a way out of our situation"

Yang scoffed "Please, the only thing only thing this guy carries is his ego, and not like he has any if we're being honest"

"OI!"

Shin stood up, his face was painted with a look of rage. He couldn't take anymore of Yang's ramblings even if Theseus was being a jerk in the first place.

"Take that back" he growled

"No thanks, my business is with Levi over there not his lovechild"

"Lovechild?!" Shin and Theseus both exclaimed

"What the hell, do you take me for a pedophile?" Theseus asked

Yang smirked, he finally got him in the bait "I mean you look like one"

Hui swallowed his spit. He didn't want the matter to escalate to this especially when Yang was evolved. The boy in question kept on smiling, though he was to engrossed in his mocking of Theseus to even realize Shin was now at his front. By the time he knew what was going on…

-TWHACK

He was sent flying through the forest with a single punch. Theseus' eyes widened in shock at Shin's actions, this couldn't possibly have been the result of his time training him, especially when Shin didn't really show any progress

'How did he get this powerful in such a short time?'

Shin regained his footing as he cracked his neck.

"Oi, bushy" He called Yang "What happened to all that talk?"

Yang who was on the ground stared at the sky for a moment to process what had just happened. A drop of blood came out from his nose.

'Did I get knocked out like that?' he thought 'Why couldn't I sense that blow…'

Yang could naturally sense attacks like that coming meters away, courtesy of his monks training. An instance being his failed sneak attack on Theseus, he managed to prevent himself from crashing into a tree in a split second and punched the ground causing a huge smoke to make it look like he crashed, but this case was different.

'Or no, I definitely sensed it. But I was to slow to react. That guy can definitely dull my senses with some weird technique'

Yang concluded before his tail coiled to form a spring, bouncing him back up. He wiped the blood from his nose before stretching his arm.

'It'd be bad if I let him do that to me again'

Shin got into a fighting stance, he recalled the words Theseus said during their training.

'If the first hit was a lucky shot don't bet on the second'

Meaning Yang wouldn't lower his guard down like before.

"You asked if I was all talk right?"

He walked up slowly, each step resounding throughout the forest bringing about a menacing aura. He got into a fighting stance as well with his tail swinging from left to right.

"Oi emo, you don't mind if I rough him up a bit?" Yang called out to Theseus who watched the whole scene

"Sure but don't break him, I still need him for future quests"

"WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON?!" Shin yelled at his partner

Yang stared at the two argue silently 'What the hell am I looking at?'

He was cringed out by the scene in front of him, making him regret coming on the pilgrimage in the first place. He broke the quarrel immediately to continue the fight.

"Sorry to break your lover's squabble but…"

Both partners turned their attention towards him, with Shin realizing the situation once more "Oh, my bad"

"Don't sweat it" Yang stretched out "Now, let's fight!"

A sweatdrop formed on Shin's face "Uhh, sure"

Yang rushed at him once more reeling his fist backwards for a straight punch. Shin dodged it but only barely as the punch grazed his right cheek. He moved a few feet back to try and recover but was interrupted by a kick from Yang. He was staggered for a moment but quickly moved back a bit.

'Dammit, he's not giving me time to recover'

Theseus on the other hand frowned, it looked like Yang had the upper hand. Though he wasn't really surprised, from what he had heard, monks from the realm of China went through intense training both physically and spiritually.

'I really hope he doesn't resort to using 'that''
