“Hmmm”
Shin hummed as he held up a manga magazine in boredom. It had been almost a week since they departed from the great marketplace New Macedonia and were now travelling wherever the road took them.
“You’re getting too cocky you know, anti-magic doesn’t solve all problems” Shin mumbled to himself as he kept flipping through pages.
‘This is getting boring’ Shin placed the book down as he looked up to the sky ‘None of the quests have been good so far’
All they had been doing so far since Shin got here, excluding the Blue hawks bandit incident, was just helping out with minor tasks from transporting goods for merchants to hunting small animals for villages.
‘At this rate, I’ll die of boredom… and probably Theseus…’ Shin looked towards the driver’s seat of the cart where Theseus kept on riding. The demigod didn’t seem bothered by the crew’s lack of entertainment as all focus was on the road.
‘Nah…’ Shin shrugged ‘He looks like someone who’d kill fun if it was a living person’
The horse drawn cart kept on going without stop, neither human nor demigod had anything to offer to kill the silence or at least keep them entertained. They were basically emotionless in this situation, no different from corpses. Shin felt his hoodie pocket as a spherical object touched his fingers, his mind now went back to the mysterious orb he got from the bandit group.
‘Now that I think about it, what is this thing? And how’d those guys get a hold of this?’ he firmly took out the orb and examined it, the fiery disc in its center had dimmed a little bit. Shin probably assumed it was like a flashlight and needed to recharge.
‘Should I ask Theseus? He seems to know all about these kind of stuff’
All of a sudden the cart came to a stop, startling Shin.
“Huh?” he raised his head from the cart silently as he could see Theseus frozen in shock. The demigod looked in disbelief as he muttered out “You’ve gotta be kidding me”
Their path was blocked by a large number of tents. Theseus quickly got down and went to inspect the area, the tents had been positioned strategically to form a circle, at the center was a small statue of gold resembling a man in robes with a large ring at his back. Theseus tilted his head a bit trying to figure out which god it could possibly be.
He was too focused on the item that he couldn’t hear the fast approaching footsteps coming from the forest area they were in. “Probably need to take it back for a closer look” he stroked his chin softly.

“Hands off!” a young voice called out towards the man, a figure leaped towards Theseus retracting his fist for a quick jab.
‘Tch’ Theseus hissed as he dodged the incoming punch before countering it with a light jab sending the figure crashing into a tree.
A confused look was on Shin’s face as he watched all this unfold in the blink of an eye.
‘So fast!’ he exclaimed to himself
Theseus stood up shooting an annoyed glare at whoever had just attacked him
“What is it with you kids and trying to sneak up on me? Do you have a death wish?!” he asked before taking a few more steps towards the tree. The debris cleared revealing a dazed out boy about Shin’s age, he had orange hair with eyes complimenting the same color, he wore something similar to a monks robe but the sleeves were removed revealing his light but muscular build, on his waist was a brown belt which matched his gloves without fingertips and the band on his right arm.
Although he looked, spoke and acted like a kid, he was different. The tail on his back resembling a monkey’s was proof of that.
“Tail?” Theseus raised an eyebrow in curiosity but another thought hit him ‘Those robes… he’s from…’
Another voice cut in but this one seemed elderly
“My my… please go easy on the poor boy” an old man stepped up, he wore a robe similar to the boy with the color scheme being sky blue. He was also bald and had a black goatee. Behind him were a group of people wearing similar robes
Theseus looked back at the man with a blank face “Oh, that’s a kid?”
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?!” the boy quickly recovered as he stood up
“Yang!” The old man quickly corrected the boy with a stern look. The boy let off a frown before sitting down on the ground.
Turning back to Theseus, he continued “I apologize on his behalf…”
“Don’t speak for me old man” Yang cut in
The elderly man continued, ignoring his comment “…I am Hui Minghao, leader of these group of monks”
Theseus greeted back “Theseus, an adventurer”
Murmurs could be heard from the monks, mostly in excitement. Theseus then wondered what he said to make them ecstatic.
Hui spoke up in relief “Good grief, I thought we’d be lost”
“Huh?” Theseus looked at the man in confusion
“I am currently leading these people on a pilgrimage to the Realm of the Sun” he explained with a bow
Theseus slightly nodded, but he felt there was more to it “So what happened?”
Hui continued “Well you see, we arrived at this realm of Greece on a short sightseeing tour… We were supposed to stay for a few days, but alas…”
Theseus cocked an eyebrow curiously before the elderly monk continued
“I encountered a vicious uni-horned bear” he spoke up emotionally causing Shin and Theseus to gasp in shock.
“No way” Shin commented in sadness
“I speak nothing but the truth” Hui replied before going on “I was then chased round the forest so much to the point I ended up having to abandon my belongings, one of those being the map to Corinth”
“Oh for crying out loud…” Yang facepalmed in disappointment “He went swimming in the lake and got our map soaked”
“Eh?” Both Theseus and Shin stared back at the man with faces of confusion before turning into disgust
“What happened to shame” Shin muttered
“Almost had me old man” Theseus added
“Bah! It always worked” Hui scoffed, making Yang shake his head in disappointment
Yang laid back “An old man shouldn’t be lying like that”
Shin looked at the two, they seemed to have some sort of dynamic between one another. But that thought was cleared away as he suddenly recalled Hui’s words
“Hey old man”
Hui looked back at Shin.
