SHOT;ONE - Yoshiyuki Nakamoto.

SHOT;ONE - Yoshiyuki Nakamoto.

A boy would run down the pitch in the #7 Jersey with the ball. He had black slightly wavy hair.

“Yuki!! Pass!!” shouted a taller boy with long tied red hair and brown eyes. He wore the #10 jersey. Yuki rewound his leg preparing to pass. As he swung his leg, he would fall to the ground. A player from the opposing team would slide tackle Yuki. The boy was taller with white hair and blue eyes.

“GAH!” Yuki screamed as he fell to the ground. He held his leg, groaning in pain. The red-haired boy jogged over, trying to help.

“Yuki!! What happened!!??” the red-haired boy asked. Yuki grits his teeth,

“MY ANKLE!!” Yuki shouted. The ref ran over, kneeling next to Yuki.

“What happened??” The ref asked. Yuki would continue groaning in pain. The ref stood up, walking over to the opposing player with white hair who tackled Yuki. The ref put his hand in his pocket, pulling out a red car.

A few minutes later, Yuki would be sitting in a doctor's office.

“Your ankle is fractured… You’re done for the season…” The doctor said. Yuki looked down at the ground as his bangs covered his eyes. He clenched his fists.

“I’m sorry kid… Just the way things unfortunately happen…” The doctor said. The doctor then walked over to Yuki’s mother. Yuki looked at the ground, blankly.

“My season… Is… Over…?” Yuki internalized. Yuki would then be standing in his school, wearing his uniform. He would be standing in front of another boy who had shorter light brown hair in a fringe.

“I… I’m quitting…” Yuki said, looking down at his feet.

“Oh… That’s fine…” The boy said. Yuki looked up at him, raising a brow.

“Why…?” Yuki asked. The boy nodded,

“Cause I don’t like playing when you’re not on the team…” The boy said.

“M-Masaki… You don’t mean…” Yuki asked. Masaki nodded,

“Yeah, I’m quitting too…” Masaki said. Yuki looked surprised,

“N-No, I don’t-” Yuki said. Masaki shook his head,

“This is my decision, c’mon let's go,” Masaki said. Yuki nodded. Yuki grabbed his crutches. He had a boot on his left leg. The two of them walked down the hall next to each other as the red haired boy approached.

“So… You’re quitting…?” He asked. Yuki nodded,

“I’m injured for the rest of the season… and it’s our third year… So…” Yuki said. The boy scoffed,

“You’re giving up that easily…?” The red-haired boy asked.

“Ryo-” Yuki said. Ryo glared at Yuki,

“Well… I’m moving to England… I’m joining Manchester United’s academy…” Ryo said. Yuki’s eyes widened.

“Hope you have a good life… Nakamoto…” Ryo kept walking down the hall. Yuki turned,

“T-Tamaki-San…” Yuki said. Ryo ignored him and kept walking. Yuki clenched his fists, holding back tears.

“Y-Yuki…” Masaki put a hand on Yuki’s shoulder.

1 Year Later.

A 16-year-old Yuki would be lying on his bed, reading a newspaper. ‘Japanese 16-year-old wunderkind, Striker, Ryo Tamaki, debuts at Real Madrid Youth against Granada, scoring a Hat trick, will he join the main squad?’

“Ryo…” Yuki internalized.

“Yoshi!! Masaki’s here!!” His mom shouted from downstairs. Yuki had an annoyed look on his face, opening his door.

“Mom! Don’t call me that, I’m 16, not 8!!” Yuki put on his school uniform: a white long-sleeved button-up and a black vest with a red outline. He grabbed his bag, walked out of his bedroom door, and entered the bathroom. He grabbed a spray bottle, full of water, spraying his hair a few times. He then put some hair wax to keep his hair maintained. He grabbed his bag, walked out of the bathroom, heading downstairs. He walked down the hallway toward the front door, holding his shoes and putting them on.

“I’m off,” Yuki said. His mom looked around the corner, smiling.

“Have a nice day, Yoshi!~” His mom said. Yuki rolled his eyes, smiling. He stood up, opened the door, and waved to his mom.

Masaki stood outside, his hair a little longer.

“Morning, Yoshi-Chan.” Masaki teased him. Masaki stood at 6’0 (182cm) while Yuki stood at 5’9 (170.8cm), so their height difference was noticeable. Yuki annoyingly glared at Masaki.

“You’re just like my mom…” Yuki said. Masaki chuckled,

“Whatever, let's go!” Masaki said, joyfully. Yuki nodded, walking with Masaki. They would walk down the sidewalk, next to the river.

“Hey, Yuki…?” Masaki asked. Yuki looked over, raising a brow.

“What's up?” Yuki asked.

“You see the news?” Masaki asked. Yuki looked confused,

“About?” Yuki asked.

“Ryo,” Masaki said. Yuki sighed,

“No, I haven’t nor do I care…” Yuki said. Masaki sighed,

“I’ll tell you anyways…” Masaki said. Yuki sighed,

“Ryo got transferred to Real Madrid from Manchester United, and scored a Hattrick against Granada…” Masaki said. Yuki sighed,

“Yeah… I saw…” Yuki said. Masaki looked confused,

“Why’d you lie…?” Masaki asked. Yuki shrugged,

“I don’t know…” Yuki said. Masaki looked down at him,

“Are you… Jealous…?” Masaki asked. Yuki looked at the ground, shrugging.

“Maybe…” Yuki said. Masaki nodded,

“I could be playing for Barcelona or Man City… Hell, I could be playing with Ryo in Madrid right now… But I’m stuck here… In Japan… Not even playing the sport…” Yuki said. Masaki sighed,

“That’s the past, c’mon, let's go…” Masaki said. The two then walked into the school’s front courtyard, looking at the class boards.

“That’s weird…” Masaki said. Yuki looked at Masaki in confusion,

“Does Ryo have a twin sister?” Masaki asked. Yuki shrugged,

“He might’ve mentioned her once or twice, why?” Yuki asked. Masaki pointed at one of the boards.

“Aya Tamaki, she’s in my class.” Masaki said. Yuki made a slightly pouted face, looking at the board.

“So we’re not in the same class this year either,” Yuki murmured. Masaki chuckled,

“No, I guess not,” Masaki said. Masaki shrugged,

“C’mon, let's go in,” Masaki said. A few hours later, Masaki and Yuki would be walking down the hallway. They would see a girl with long red hair in a ponytail. She would be talking with a group of three other girls when she noticed Yuki and Masaki.

“One second.” She said to her friends. She then walked past the other girls, tapping on Yuki’s shoulder.

“Excuse me.” She said. Yuki turned around, looking her in the eyes.

“What's up?” Yuki asked.

“Do you happen to be, Yoshiyuki Nakamoto?” She asked. Yuki raised a brow, looking at her hair.

“Red hair…” Yuki internalized.

“Yeah, that's me…” Yuki said. She grabbed a letter from her pocket and handed it to Yuki.

“This is for you.” She said. Yuki raised a brow, looking down at the letter. Yuki’s eyes widened,

“Ryo…” Yuki mumbled. The letter was addressed to Yuki from Ryo with a Spanish post stamp.
