It's Saturday morning and the children are waiting to get on the bus that will take them to the camp.
A few students have only been chosen for the first stage of the camp, so that the rest of the students can come next time and if it's really safe to do so, it's a campsite very well known to Luke and Justin as they used to go there a lot a few years back. Luke brought his pet Rahman, a Siberian husky, and Justin brought Jeremy, his Golden Retriever, who also know the place well.
The students were divided into groups and the first tasks were to set up the tents and find wood for the fire.
There are some fixed tents that are already set up and an outdoor space to set up the other tents. The Student Guild divided them into 3 groups and each group was responsible for different activities:
The groups were divided as follows:
Luan's group Mary's group Kenji's group
-Andrew -Mark - Bianca
-Ren - Katty -Charlie
-Theo - Emily -San
-Derick -Tommy -Olivia
-Sophia
Arriving at the campsite, it was decided that one group would set up the tents, another group would make the food, and the other would get wood for the campfire and barbecue.
Physical education teacher Edy, history teacher Ian, teacher Clara and nutritionist July were also called. Kenji's group would be responsible for setting up the tents, Mary's group for the food, and Luan's group for the firewood and general maintenance, but only Luan, Derick, Luke. Justin, because they know the place best and know where the firewood deposit is.
Apparently everything seems to be fine. Luke came to check out the site a few days ago, but everything seemed normal.
At the campsite, Mark and Lena are arguing about the tents.
Lena says:
"I don't know if I'll be able to sleep in the tent."
Mark listens and retorts:
"Lena, this is camping, we have to set up and sleep in tents, that's the fun of it."
Lena retorts:
"Ah, but there are a lot of mosquitoes here!"
Mark retorts:
"When we were little we always pitched tents in the pool house, you always said you wanted to camp in the forest."
Lena replies:
"Oh, do you remember? I remember too, but here it's different, there can be animals...ahhh.... makes me nervous just thinking about it..."
Bianca is listening and says:
"Lena, in that case you could ask Luan for help!...think about it that way..."
Lena perks up:
"That's true, my friend, but I always show myself to be strong in front of him.... what he'll think of me if I run from an animal..."
When suddenly Lena starts to feel something in her hair and it goes down to her neck.
"Ohh... God, get it away from me... get it away from me!"
It's Tommy who's behind Lena, he's put a leaf in her hair, Mark takes it out and shows her that it's just a leaf.
Tommy bursts out laughing and says:
"So scared, where's your bravery now Lena? Haha"
Lena looks back, and shoots Tommy with her eyes:
"Do you want to die today, Tommy?"
She grabs a stick from the tent and runs after Tommy.
Mark and so says:
"Hey...we need this to set up the tents!"
Lena runs off after Tommy and they run back and forth.
Meanwhile, in the forest, the boys look at the place where the firewood is stored, then Luke says that they need to find a cave before they get the firewood.
"Kids, since it's now so easy to get the firewood, not like in the past when we had to search the forest for twigs and sticks, we need to take you Luan and Derick to see a cave, but like everyone else who visits, we only have access to part of it, and to go further into the cave, we need permission from the DSO."
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
The boys agree and set off on the trail that leads to the cave, arriving at the Cave of Hope.
This cave has been visited for years by many family members who come and leave flowers and objects, these objects belong to people who have suddenly disappeared, some have been found over the years, but many have not yet been found, and the family members do not know exactly what happened to these people who disappear, even when they are found there is a certain secrecy about it, but legend has it that they were "stolen by escaped spirits", there are several drawings and signs.
As soon as they arrive, they make a sign of respect. Luan is able to better analyze these "signs" because he has been studying his maternal grandparents' books for a long time, and there is a certain different coloring in the room.
Luan then asks:
"Do you see that different coloring? Luke, Derick and Justin look at each other in confusion and say:"
"No, do you see anything different apart from the yellow of these lights and candles?"
Luke and Justin look at each other and whisper, then Luke says:
"It must be what our father once said, that there are different colorings, they are blue when someone has been found, purple for those who haven't, and red for those who have been totally lost, I remember when we were under the services of the DSO, Ana could see the coloring too."
Justin then remembers:
"Oh yes, I do remember, but Dad and Ana could never explain exactly what they saw..."
Luke confirms:
"Yes, they were full of secrets."
Justin nods in confirmation.
Then Luan looks at an item that catches his eye, it has a red tint, and he respectfully picks it up and analyzes it:
"That shade, I remember reading about that part".
He notices that only half of the item is a hair clip, and strangely has the feeling that he's seen it before.
("This hair clip looks like I've seen it before, it has lots of little stones and it's shaped like a simple bow, it may look ordinary, but for some reason it doesn't look so ordinary.")
Then Luan feels the ringing in his ear again...
Piiii
His eye changes shape, and his pupils change color, so he discreetly takes the loop and puts it in his pocket, without anyone noticing, and stands there...
Derick thinks he's too quiet and asks:
"Luan, is everything all right in there?"
Luan remains still for a few moments.
His eyes darken and his pupils change color and shape, then he discreetly takes the clip and puts it in his pocket, without anyone noticing, and stands there.
Derick thinks he's too quiet and asks:
"Luan, is everything all right in there?"
Luan continues to stand there quietly for a few moments.
Luan then turns to Derick, he looks normal again and says:
"Yes, everything's fine, I'm analyzing these items, probably if we pass the Awakening Test we'll have to come here quite often."
Derick then nods and says:
"Yes, we'll have to come often, but I feel a certain melancholy being in this cave. "
Justin stares sadly at one item in particular, a guitar pick, and wonders:
("Will we ever get you back?")
Luke then looks at Justin, and thinks it's best to end the visit to the cave:
"Well, it's getting very late, we need to get the wood and light the fire and barbecue before it gets dark, otherwise it'll take too long, so let's go, let's go..."
Literally pushing Derick and Luan out of the cave and then pulling Justin out of the cave too, they head towards the place where they store the firewood.
Luan senses a heavy atmosphere in the cave, and as he leaves he looks at Justin and the pick his uncle is staring at.
("A pick? Oh... I wonder if it belonged to Uncle Justin's first son, who disappeared...)
