The largest place in the human world, but it's not a country. What could that be? Sophie wondered. She started going through all the stories that her mom and dad had told her. Fairy tales, myths, legends, and stories from old religions. That had always been the kind of thing that Sophie would really pay attention to when they were learning about it in school – all the stuff that people used to believe in.
Sophie was very aware of the pressure she was under. If she couldn't answer correctly, Fiff the fairy and Trom the troll couldn't get to their lesson, and the satyr was going to put some kind of curse on her. And she didn't even know what kind of curse.
Sophie was exerting every ounce of her concentration. Some kind of god who was the ruler of a massive area. Who could that be?
Finally, she had an idea.
A god who ruled a place that was larger than any other place on Earth [https://img.wattpad.com/109006fcea60170a46285fbddef8f0e89d811f77/68747470733a2f2f73332e616d617a6f6e6177732e636f6d2f776174747061642d6d656469612d736572766963652f53746f7279496d6167652f4c4476515a334143347a787938513d3d2d313235363439383836352e313730396237626335623262316639663238373037353531353236362e706e67?s=fit&w=1280&h=1280]
A god who ruled a place that was larger than any other place on Earth. That had to be it. Sophie was just about to blurt out the answer, but stopped herself. She was still missing something.
"If the god has more than one name, which name should I use?" she asked.
The self-assured smile disappeared from Drim's face. Clearly Sophie had figured out his riddle.
"Why, do you know a god who has more than one name?" Drim asked mockingly, trying to regain his air of superiority.
"Sure! The Greeks called him Poseidon, but the Romans called him Neptune. He was the god of the seas. So I guess the country would be called either Poseidon or Neptune. So, which one is it?" Sophie looked expectantly at Drim who was looking none too pleased.
"Well, if you can answer this next rid..." was all Drim managed to say before Fiff cut him off.
"She's already answered correctly, Drim! She even answered two of your questions! Now let us pass," she ordered the satyr.
Trom backed her up. "Or we can always just let the entire school know that you were too scared to let us pass, just because Sophie is smarter than you."
Drim let out an agitated sound, but then bowed his head in defeat. The hallway behind him became blurred for a moment, and what had previously been a single hallway split into three. Drim stomped angrily down one of the hallways while throwing a vengeful look back at Sophie. And once again, Sophie noticed a worrying red shimmer in his eyes.
"Thanks a million, Sophie!" Fiff was whirling in circles around her in pure excitement.
"Yeah, I really didn't wanna make that detour," Trom said and extended his hand. "I'm Trom, by the way."
Sophie shook his hand.
"Ooooh, me too!" Fiff flew over to Sophie's other hand and eagerly started shaking her index finger with both hands.

"Um... You're welcome."
"Ooooh! Look at that, Trom! Her eyes are two different colors!" Fiff exclaimed, having just started to look more closely at Sophie.
Oh no, here it comes, Sophie thought. She could practically hear all the comments already. That's so strange. Humans aren't supposed to have eyes like that. You're such a weirdo. Why can't you just be normal?
Trom and Fiff leaned in closer towards her face, examining her eyes. Sophie feared the worst.
"Do they do anything?" Fiff asked.
"Y'know, apart from just looking?" Trom added.
Sophie was taken aback. That was a new one.
"What?" she asked.
"Can they change colors or look through walls?" Fiff suggested.
"Um... No, they can't really do anything. Are there people who can do stuff like that?"
"Oh yeah! Our classmate Mek can turn things to stone just by looking at them, and Pew from one of the other classes has five eyes that all do different things. So, I guess you've just got totally normal eyes," Fiff concluded.
Normal eyes. Those were two words that Sophie had never expected to hear describe her.
"But it's still pretty rare for people to be able to do stuff with their eyes. Especially humans," Trom added.
"I know that! But lots of students here have special abilities, right? Just look at me!" Fiff said proudly.
"Do you have a special ability?" Sophie asked.
"Do I! Just have a look at this!" Immediately, Fiff zipped around the corner and soon came flying back with one of the giant pyramid stones Sophie had seen earlier lifted high above her head. Sophie's jaw dropped. The stone was at least a hundred, maybe a thousand times as large as Fiff.

The strongest human in the world would hardly be able to move that rock an inch, and they certainly couldn't lift it. Fiff was brimming with pride and glowing with purple light as she put down the pyramid stone.
"I guess it makes me a bit different from everyone else, but I've learned that being different is a great thing. At this school we've got people who are smart, not so smart, strong, weak, magical and less magical. So, we're all kinds of different people, but that just means that we're able to help each other out better."
Fiff was growing so passionate as she spoke that she was starting to sparkle.
"You're starting to sound just like Nimum," Trom said wearily.
"Nothing wrong with sounding like Nimum, though!" Fiff insisted.
"Is Nimum one of your teachers?" Sophie asked, thinking back to the girl on the picture that Marro had shown her.
"Yes, she's our adventuring teacher. I really hope you'll get to be in one of her classes, otherwise you're missing out!" Fiff said. "Which class will you be in?"
"Um... I don't actually know ANY of my classes yet. I was supposed to get to the library first, and then they'd tell me where I need to go next. But I must have gotten lost, because the library isn't here."
"Oh, you didn't get lost. The school library was supposed to be around here, but it seems to have traveled again."
Sophie gave Fiff a quizzical look.
"It traveled?"
"Yeah, it's kind of impractical," Fiff admitted.
"It's a real pain in the butt, is what it is," Trom piped in.
"The library never really wants to be in the same place for more than a few weeks at a time. So it travels around a lot."
How was Sophie ever supposed to find it now? Even just getting to where she was now had been enough of a challenge.
"If you need help finding it, you can always ask one of the school's knights for directions," Fiff suggested.
Again, Sophie looked at Fiff with confusion.
"The knights? Do you mean the suits of armor?"
Suddenly a bell rang, and Fiff jolted to attention.
"Oh no! Trom, we gotta hurry or we'll be late! Sorry, Sophie, but we gotta run!"
Fiff darted down the hallway at full speed, shouting at Trom to get him to hurry up.
"Come on, Trom! If we're late they're gonna give us extra homework!"
"I know, I know," Trom yelled back, while he reluctantly started to jog down the hallway after her.
