Tamashi remained planted on his knees, paralyzed by the pure force of the electricity flowing through the room.
Rai towered over Tamashi. The electricity was causing his brilliant white hair to float as if it was being blasted by a sea breeze.
Rai presented Tamashi with a devilish grin.
“Come on, Tamayo, I’m waiting for you to make the first move!”
Tamashi moved his left arm up to shield his face.
‘Shit, what do I do? This is bad…’
As he withstood the pressure in the room as if he wasn’t affected by the situation at all, Sensei continued to observe the situation.
‘It’s unfortunate for Tamashi, considering he has to battle and win over the strongest of the five.’
Sensei’s arm began to move outward.
‘But… That doesn’t have to happen at this exact moment.’
Rai reared back his fist.
“If you’re not gonna make the first move, THEN I’LL DO IT!”
A ball of electricity formed around Rai’s right fist as it flew towards Tamashi.
Tamashi closed his eyes, expecting a harsh impact.
But an impact never came.
Tamashi reopened his eyes to find that Rai’s arm had been grabbed just prior to his fist impacting Tamashi’s face.
In less than a nanosecond, Sensei had placed himself in between Tamashi and Rai and had latched onto Rai’s arm.
“Stand down, Rai,” said Sensei as he directed his cold green gaze at the Seishin.
Rai replied with an equally cool gaze.
“No.”
Rai proceeded to amplify the electricity flowing through his arm to an unspeakable level.
“GAAAAAAAAAH! I’LL KILL YOU, OLD MAN!”
Sensei’s green eyes began to radiate.
“Shokyo”
All of a sudden, the room was devoid of electricity.
Sensei shifted his right foot out and exerted force on Rai’s arm. He pulled Rai into the air and slammed Rai onto the ground behind him. Rai let out a gasp.

Before Tamashi could process the sequence of events, Sensei turned around and locked eyes with him.
“Alright, I’ve decided.”
“Wait, uh, what just happened?”
“I’m going to train you to defeat Rai. I’ll teach you how to fight.”
Tamashi returned a look of confusion.
“Uh, I’m still trying to figure out what just happened.”

Max glared over the piece of paper that Bri had given him.
“So you want me to kidnap these three high school students. You want me to take them down then drag them to one of our safe houses. After that, I’m supposed to wait for further orders. Is that right?”
Bri sipped her tea in a royal fashion.
“Yep. That’s the mission. Let me guess, you have a problem with it?”
“Yeah. I don’t understand what the point of all this is. I mean, we’re talking about three random high school students.”
“They’re not random. They play an important role in securing the future of Kita.”
“You’re not making any sense.”
Bri lowered her tea cup to the table and folded her arms.
“Two of the three just so happen to be best friends with this guy named Tamashi.”
Max leaned back into his seat, raising his hand to his face with a look of perplexion.
“Who’s Tamashi? A new boy toy you’re chasing?”
Bri allowed her face to form a smile of suppressed excitement.
“Even better. He’s been chosen by Rai.”
The shock of the revelation caused Max to jump out of a seat faster than the jump of a cat.
“WAIT, SOME RANDOM GUY OFF THE STREET GOT PICKED BY RAI TO BE A RIYOSHA? WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THAT SEISHIN?”
“I don’t know. I’m just as confused as you.”
After pausing to catch his breath, Max returned to his seat.
“What do you mean, you don’t know? You’re supposed to know everything about the Seishin, aren’t you?”
“Well, to be more accurate, I know mostly everything about four of the five Seishin. Those four have a ton of information and history that are written in many books and documents that I happen to have stored in the Great Library. It also helps that we currently have two of the Seishin under control.”
“So I’m guessing the fifth Seishin you’re talking about is Rai. What’s his deal? Is there no info on him in that fancy library of yours?”
Bri nodded her head.
“Rai is a near-total mystery to me. The books barely say anything about him. It’s like he’s always been distanced from the other Seishin. I guess you could say he’s more of a free spirit.”
“A better way of putting it is that Rai’s always been a big butthole towards the rest of us Seishin.”
A blast of wind passed near Max, causing him to nearly fall out of his seat.
“HEY, WATCH IT, WHERE- Wait, who are you?”
Now standing at the table was a short, thin girl with oversized gray-colored eyes and dark green hair.
She was wearing exactly the same clothing as Bri.
“I’m a Seishin, dummy! Jeez, show some respect when introducing yourself.”
“I WASN’T-“
“Oh, it’s Kaze. It’s always nice to see you manifest in physical form. It’s been a while since you’ve left my mind.”
“It felt like a wonderful and amazing time to manifest in this beautiful world! I can’t wait to have some of your tasty tea and snacks!”
“HEY-“
“Well, I can’t wait to serve you some snacks! But you must’ve manifested because of the conversation we’re having.”
“I sure did! More so for the snacks, but that conversation too!”
“YOU-“
“I have the staff bring another chair.”
“Oh you don’t have to worry about that, I love being able to stand up and dance aro-“
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE???!!!”
In a flash, Max was out of his seat and pointing at the newcomer while bellowing at Bri.
“THERE’S NO WAY SHE’S A SEISHIN! THEY DON’T EXIST IN PHYSICAL FORM! ARE YOU SCREWING-“
“Hey, red-eyes. If you don’t get that grubby finger out of my face, I might just bite it off.”
Max slowly redirected his gaze to Kaze, whose eyes were glowing with anger and intensity.
The wind began to pick up on the balcony.
A few moments later, Max was quietly seated.
After a brief period of silence, Kaze was the first to break the ice.
“Now then, let me tell you guys about my annoying brother. I can’t wait for the snacks to get here!”
