Laurie sat in her car outside Jake’s apartment. She had gotten his address from the personnel files when she looked up his phone number. She had seen the girls leave and waited for Jake to call. Then his lights went out. Why did he not call? Who were those girls? She could not understand what was wrong with her, she had never behaved this way before. Was she turning into a stalker? She barely knew Jake, had maybe seen him a few times at the store, and even then he was a nobody in her world. Her body was crying out for him and she could not understand it. She banged her head against the steering wheel to try and clear her head. The pain seemed to help a bit, her mind cleared a little. Should she phone him? Was that too desperate, they did have a date for the next night.
