Vidyut shifted his focus on all the books and artefacts in front of him on the bed.

"Looks like I should start from the books."

Vidyut took a book in his hand. On the cover of the book "Energy Refinement Basic Technique" was written.

"Hmm, Energy refinement basic technique! Can it help me refine my energy?" Vidyut thought

Then Vidyut opened the book and started reading it.

"Energy is everywhere, A source for all the beings and a way for all natural and unnatural powers......."

Vidyut noticed, when he was reading the book a blue light was falling on the book. He watched upwards to see if there was any source of blue light but didn't find anything. He again watched the book but there was no blue light this time.

"Maybe my mind is playing some tricks on me." Vidyut thought and continued reading the book.

After 2 hours:

"Sigh, Finally this book is completed," Vidyut said and closed the book.

Then he sat in a meditative pose and tried to do the same thing as written in the book.

"According to the book, we can gather energy in our body by increasing our spiritual force and it will act like gravity works for the atmosphere, energy will be pulled inside the body and then one can refine it but I do not need to take these measures for now. I can simply use my eyes and gather as much energy in just fifteen seconds that will take ten minutes from the normal method.'

Vidyut thought in his mind and his pupil spread and covered the whole iris. Energy nearby him started surrounding him and his body absorbed all that energy.

"Now I just need to refine it." Vidyut thought and started the same process as written in the book but to his surprise nothing happened.

"What? How is this possible? Why is nothing happening?" Vidyut shouted in anxiousness.

"Could it be that Dad's company gave him a fake refinement method?" Vidyut thought.

"Sigh, I wasted 2 hours of effort for nothing," Vidyut said to himself in disappointment and fell down on the bed again. As his body has not totally healed and there is still some pain in his backbone.

"If I want to defeat her I should focus more on levelling up but I would need to absorb a lot of energy and strengthen my body for that. Let's leave it for now. I will think about it after a good night's sleep." Vidyut thought and slept.

"Hey, sleepyhead! Wake up now. How long are you gonna sleep." A voice sounded in Vidyut's ears and he slightly opened his eyes. But he felt a little pain on his cheeks.

"Who is it?" He said in a half-sleepy state.

"Your death, You are going to enter hell and punished in burning lava for thousands of years. Now wake up", A voice entered Vidyut's ears and the pain intensified in his cheeks. Suddenly his eyes opened due to the increased pain and he rubbed his cheeks.

Neeta was sitting on his bed near his head pinching his cheeks.

"Mom, Don't pinch my cheeks. It hurts." Vidyut said in a pitiful voice.

"If you start waking up on time then I will not pinch your cheeks," Neeta said.

"Aunt, You also know this sleepyhead can't wake up early, Don't you?" Vidyut didn't need to see to know who was saying this thing.

"Sister, why are you here so early in the morning?" Vidyut shifted his gaze at Vani and said.

"To see how badly you were beaten and laugh at you," Vani said with a grin on her face.

"Uhh, Mom, She's making fun of me again," Vidyut complained

"Okay, Okay, stop fighting" Neeta said with a bright smile on her face.

"And tell me, how is your injury now?" Neeta Questioned

"Feeling better than yesterday, It has almost healed just a little more rest and it will completely heal," Vidyut replied

"Okay then freshen up and come to the kitchen." Neeta pinched Vidyut's cheek one more time and then left Vidyut's room with Vani.

"Sigh, Looks like I should not go to academy today. I will just observe more practice methods today." Vidyut paused,

"Let's hope they are not the fake ones."

After breakfast, Neeta went to the academy but Vidyut decided not to go to the academy today because of recovering from injuries and observing more practice methods.

In Vidyut's room:

He took out all the artefacts and books from his shelf and placed them on the bed.

"Let's start with this book." Vidyut's gaze fell on a book with a red colour and a very thick cover. "Tapas" was carved on a thick metal plate attached to the cover of the book.

Vidyut opened it and started reading it. After half a day, he stood up and stretched his body.

"So this method can increase in helping my spiritual power by purifying my mind and help a lot in increasing physical prowess by purifying the body through the heat generated by the absorbed energy. It's good as my eyes consume a lot of spiritual power and I cannot use them for a long time or multiple times without a break. So I can increase my physical abilities and spiritual power at the same time" Vidyut thought and paused

"Don't let it be fake."

Vidyut sat on the floor in a Padmasana (Lotus meditation pose) and closed his eyes. After taking a deep breath he opened his eyes and his golden pupils spread over and covered the iris. All the energy in the surroundings flowed towards him and was absorbed by his body.

After 15 seconds his spiritual power was almost used up and he closed his eyes. He focused on a little amount energy and increased its flowing speed in the body, suddenly a warm sensation spread across his body and Vidyut felt his body and mind being tempered. He kept on increasing the speed of energy flow inside his body and the heat inside the body kept on increasing.

Although it was not taking much spiritual power to control some energy inside his body but still because of most of the spiritual power being used by his eyes , His spiritual energy got finished in 5 minutes and the process ended.

When Vidyut opened his eyes, All his clothes were almost burnt. Smoke was coming out of his body as if water evaporating. His body was also a little red and swollen from the outside. Vidyut kept on sitting in Padmasana for 20 more minutes when his body gradually cooled down. A bad stink spread in his room and when Vidyut opened his eyes again he saw some black residues on his body.

"Are these residues the impurities in my body" Vidyut thought.

Suddenly a voice came from outside and entered Vidyut's ears, "Vidyut, Vani has came and she has something important to tell you. Come out." It was Neeta's voice.

"Mom, tell sister to wait for five minutes. I'll be coming out after 5 minutes." Vidyut said loudly. Then he covered himself in a towel and opened the door.

"I should meet them after taking a bath."
