It was already morning and Leon was approaching Blueberry Town after riding for a day and night, after the separation of his companions.
The village was small and contained a warehouse, an artesian moat, some houses, and an inn made of rustic wooden planks.
There was a wheat field in which the few people who lived in the city worked on. Leon goes to the inn exhausted from his trip. An old lady answers him.
“Greetings,” says Leon, and he nods respectfully. “I need you to take care of these horses and also a room and a meal.” says the exhausted Leon removing his helmet.
“It will be five gold coins per night, meal and bath included!” says the lady. Leon just nods and hands over the coins. “Just go up the stairs, in the empty room. It is the second to the right. Can’t miss it!” says the lady pointing to the stairs.
Exhausted, Leon falls on the bed and sleeps like a rock until the golden twilight appears in the skies.
When he gets up he goes down the stairs still sleepy.
“I'm going to serve your meal, young man. If you want to shower first, go to that door behind you. We have hot water.” the old lady leaves the counter and goes to the kitchen to prepare the meal for Leon.
Leon goes to the bathroom and starts to undress his armor and clothes and he leans his big spear and his trident on the wall.
The water of the bathtub was relaxing for his strong, muscular body, full of combat scars, but his thoughts kept going on. He thought about the welfare of his companions and analyzed every detail of the battle with that unknown creature.
He was thinking about alternatives to blows and defenses and was doing several different simulations of that combat.
He looked at his weapons against the wall and then at the ceiling.
After bathing, Leon puts on his armor and puts his spear and trident on his back and goes out to eat his meal, and then leaves.
“Here's the food!” the lady serves Leon who starts eating immediately
After eating, Leon looks at the window and sees that it is already night.
His anger intensifies at the thought of the damn creatures that could be hunting Hilbert and also thought of killing Napoleon.
Leon leaves and goes to his horse when he observes a messenger eagle in the sky. Henry whistles and the eagle lands on his arm. He removes the paper from the eagle's claws and reads it.
The fury in his eyes intensifies even more. The patrolman tears up the paper with the message:
“LIVING DEAD ARE ATTACKING SOUTHTOWN! SEND REINFORCEMENTS IMMEDIATELY”
Leon gives one of those speed potions to his horse and heads south.
He knew that if the eagle reached Whitecastle there would be many questions about the prince's whereabouts.
If he could not avoid the tragedy, he would send another more discreet message directly to Daniela.
After a few hours, he arrives in the city and observes the panic that has set in it. A legion of undead in old Whitecastle and Southstar armor was killing people and destroying the city.
He thought that attack was aimed at his Commander, for if they were still together it would be the approximate time they would be in South Town to head to Southbridge afterward. Leon rages and begins to focus on eliminating the undead.
With great speed, his body, and his spear that emanated the element of light rotated as he attacked many enemies. He channeled his entire aura into his spear. The enemies were shattered and fell to pieces wherever that attack passed. It even looked like a tornado due to the speed and strength of the attacks.
After defeating many enemies the city was almost clear of the undead, and Leon was watching his brigade mate, Lars, surrounded.
With great speed, the warrior pierces five undead into his spear and then throws them at the enemies that were surrounding Lars, therefore saving his friend from certain death.

“Leon! By the mercy of the gods! Glad you are here!” Lars exclaims with some relief.
“A horde of undead appeared out of nowhere at nightfall! We don't know what's going on.”
“Near here, a long time ago, there was a battle during the last war. These dead were summoned by some kind of unholy magic. How many casualties have there been?”
“Axel, Sebastian, Kai, and Scott have perished.” Lars had tears in his eyes. “The others are out there fighting!
“Or probably dead! These bastards are attacking even the innocent!” says Henry furious.
“Lars, stand up and fight! Help the townsfolk to escape, gather the warriors who are still alive, and use your aura to channel the element of light. We need to last until dawn, and then we will win.” Leon stared in the distance a huge horde approaching.
“I will hold on to those that are coming! Take care of the rest for me.” Leon leaves with great speed towards that gigantic horde.
Lars proceeds to obey orders given by his friend.
Leon observed that there would be approximately a thousand opponents, when arriving at the place he heard a strange voice talking to him.
The dead were standing with a purple aura emanating from their eyes.
“Where's the prince? You are a mere human, aren’t you? Yes, yes you are.” asks a strange and poorly articulated voice.
“I have no idea who you are talking about. Who is the coward who hides behind a pile of dead people? Why don't you reveal yourself to me, you bastard?”
Leon looked around and then noticed a sinister aura overhead. He looks up and is faced with the sight of a bizarre creature. The creature had three heads, one large at the front and two smaller at the sides. The heads had huge mouths and full of teeth and resembled a frog with fur, but were full of thorns and horns. The heads were joined by the upper part of a humanoid body with huge fly-like eyes. The huge creature had wings that moved fast, similar to the wings of a beetle, but giant. It contained four arms on either side of the gray chest with hands that had more than a hundred fingers.
Leon noticed that from each finger of the creature, strands of purple aura broke, which descended to the dead.
“I am Beelzebub, the puppet master. They are my puppets now! After they eliminate you I will be able to extract the information I want just by eating your brain. After that, I will use your body to kill your weak companions who are close to those abodes.” the creature replies with a threatening tone.
“Why to wait so much! Get down here and do it if you think you can!” Leon stared furiously at that bizarre creature.
“You are not worth my time! Anyway, since you are here let’s play a little, shall we?” the creature began to move its fingers and the dead began to march against Leon.
Leon starts to spin the big spear in several directions and across his body as he also spun quickly.
This attack covered a large area and the living dead were falling in droves by the attack of the brave warrior. The dead couldn't even get close.
After half an hour of repeating his attacks, the warrior stops and looks at the bizarre creature. All the living dead were fallen dismembered.
A horde of more than a thousand opponents had been defeated and were lying on the battlefield.
“I underestimated you! You are starting to make me nervous. I don’t like that, I don’t, I don’t” says the creature. “But let's see how long you can take it!” the creature begins to emanate a purple aura and its lines were mending the fallen bodies that were rising again.
Leon repeats his maneuver and was defeating the living dead. After everyone was down, the creature mended the corpses again.
This battle scene was repeated five more times and the warrior was already starting to tire. It was past midnight. The brave warrior of the Eagle Brigade wanted to hold the enemies there so that his comrades could get the town’s folk to safety.
Leon estimated that dawn would take another five to six hours to arrive. He had to endure at all costs. The creature was contemplating the scene and begins to speak again.
“You really are spoiling my fun time. I gathered a pile of excrement to eat and you just go spinning and spinning and spinning all around and round while you break my rotten meat and feces toys. I know what you intend to do. You want the light of Pyro's flame to reach me. But your aura is already weak and you are there looking at me with that dizzy face, thinking, that I would not notice anything!” the creature speaks with a discouraged tone.
“I'm just taking advantage of this moment to train a little. I am beginning to understand better how to save my stamina while attacking. I kept thinking about my previous battles and ended up realizing something that I hadn't noticed before!”
Leon looked at the creature with disgust. “It's just that I've never used this trident before, but I never needed it. I wish I had kept it for a longer time; after all, I will only be able to use it once!” Leon takes the long trident off his back and points upwards.
“Why don't you impale yourself with that? What was that thing going to do? Scratch your back! Or you do intend to use it with your other arm! If you want I can borrow one of mine!” the creature starts laughing.
When the creature realized it was too late, it was already morning and the sun shone brightly.
The creature was burning and screaming in agony. The living dead were falling apart.
“This trident has a supreme spell that stops time in a limited area! We were frozen in time for seven hours!” Leon looks at the burning creature that falls and begins to turn to smoke, disappearing as it screamed in pain.
Leon thanked in his mind the gift that Hilbert had given him and the trident begins to shine, then it starts to vanish in the air. In the distance, he saw Lars and another brigadier approaching him. The night of the living dead had come to an end.
