“Not bad,” Max thought, as he looked at his character sheet. “I need to improve my mana somehow, it is really low no matter how much I put skill points to Mind.”

Snickers ate a piece of dry meat like it was the best piece of meat from a five-star restaurant, while Max had problems with chewing it, ale helped to get it down.

They sat in the dark next to the road, a giant oak tree covered them with its branches. They had a long road ahead of them, at least 6 more months of traveling, Max hoped it’d all be worth it when they reached the end.

“Snickers,” Max looked at the road. “Why don’t you go to your home, real home?”

Snickers stopped licking his fingers, he looked sad. “It’s a long story,” he said after a while. “But I am no longer welcomed there. Let’s just leave it at that.”

“Oh, sorry for asking. I didn’t know,” Max felt stupid for asking.

“No, it is okay. It’s just hard for me to talk about it. But one day I’ll tell you the story.”

“Okay pal, good night. Wake me up when it’s my turn to-”

“No problem, just sleep. I’ll wake you up.” Snickers said and he looked sad.

“And I couldn’t finish this,” Max added, “so please eat it for me.”

Snickers caught a piece of dry meat, his eyes became alive again. “Thanks!”

Max turned around in his blanket, slowly drifting away.

“I CAST!” Max yelled, “THE GIANT FIREBALL OF MEGA DESTRUCTION!!” A giant ball of fire went straight into his enemies and they burned to the ground. “I am the great wizard Max! You can’t beat me!”

Snickers stood beside him, master of the blades with a dark green robe hiding his eyes, so they never knew who was his next victim. “Good shot Max!” Snickers said, his voice much deeper than Max remembered. “You destroyed them all, now for the final fight, the Demon Lord is coming!”

From the giant crater of fire and dust, the Demon Lord flew to the sky. Over ten feet tall, his skin deep, blood-red, mixed with ancient runes and scars that pulse with some dark energy. His eyes are like molten lava, burning with rage and a hunger for destruction.

His mouth was filled with sharp teeth that seemed to drip some kind of venom. Horns as black as obsidian curved backward from his forehead, looking like a crown for the king of darkness.

His massive, muscular body was filled with spiked, black armor that seems to grow naturally from his flesh. Each piece of it is engraved with dark runes that emit a red glow. His hands end in sharp, claw-like fingers, making it easy for him to cut through the toughest armor and flesh with ease.

His wings vast and bat-like, extended blocking the sun and putting everything into darkness. His tail is long, with a sharp point on the end, that drips with toxin.

“All your friends are dead, I killed them all!” his voice shouted at Max. “Now you’re the only one left, and this world is mine!”

“Not until I’m alive, you can’t beat me!”

“INFERNAL SLASH!” in Demon’s hand, a greatsword appeared, ignited with hellfire. A flaming slash that could cut through multiple foes at once and leave a trail of burning destruction.

“TELEPORT!” Max disappeared for a second and then reappeared behind the Demon. “FIREBALL!”

A direct hit, making the Demon growl in pain.

“DARK NOVA!” a wave of dark energy unleashed in all directions, knocking back everyone around him, except Max.

“SHIELD!” the shield protected him, the Demon’s attacks were useless against Max and his magic.

“Soul Catch!” a claw attack that tears through the physical and spiritual essence of the target, dealing massive damage and draining life force to heal himself.

“Can’t touch this!” the Demon went through Max like he wasn’t even there. “You’ll have to excuse me, I couldn’t think of a cooler spell name, you see I created this spell myself.” Max took his hat off and dropped it on the battlefield, he was floating in the air with the Demon Lord now.

“You fucker!” the Demon Lord yelled. “Hellfire!” the Demon started breathing hellfire from his mouth, burning everything in its path.

Max evaded without any problems, he didn’t even try, if he wanted to he could beat this demon with ease.

“I’ll give you one more chance to kill me because you waited so long for it. Then, I will have to finish this.” The women who appeared on the ground started cheering for him, he knew he looked cool.

“Oblivion Rift!” a giant rift opened below Max and the Demon, sucking them inside. “If I can’t kill you, then I’m bringing you to the hell with me!” the Demon started laughing.

“That’s what you think!” Max said as he disappeared once again and reappeared above the Demon.

“IMPOSSIBLE!” the Demon Lord watched with shock, his eyes widened.

“Nothing is impossible for me, FIREBALL!!” the Demon Lord disappeared in the rift.

“O-M-G! You are so cool!” the women screamed with passion.

“Slowly ladies,” Max said with a smirk on his face. “I’ll take a picture with every single one of you.”

“Max,” Snickers stood next to him, shaking him.

“Not now, I saved the world, and I’m talking to these beautiful ladies.” Max grinned.

“Max, come on bro. Max… Max… Max…”

“FIREBALL!” the darkness disappeared for a second and a ball of fire missed Snickers by a mile, but it still scared him shitless.

“WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU?!” he yelled.

“Why are you waking me up, I had a wonderful dream about-”

“Do I look like I care?! You could’ve killed me!!” Snickers sat still shaking from the attack.

“Oh come on,” Max said. “I was off by a LOT!”

“Your turn to keep watch. I’ll just go to sleep.”

“Sorry, sure thing, nothing to worry about Snickers my friend.” Max yawned pulling the scrolls out to try and figure out how to change them.
