The first thing we notice when we get into arndale is the cold. It’s freezing! I look around at the town on the hill, I’m at the town center at the top of the hill, it looks like a pretty large village, I’m surprised it’s not called a city. There's a blacksmith, tailor, arena, 2 general stores, an apothecary, a concert hall, a ton of buildings whose purpose I can't even imagine, even a music store.  

“Ok” I say to Yui. “From what I’ve been told we need to earn money to get food, I’ve heard dying by hunger is an awful way to die. So Yui, where do you want to go work, we need to make some money so we can buy some food?”

“ Hmmmmm……. Jk Jk lets go be street performers, you can play music, I can sing! Sound like fun to you?!”

“I don’t know, I don’t think that would make that much money, we can't even play instruments well without the Bard class.”

“Ok then get the Bard class, you can always change your class later right?”

“Yeah I guess, now where do we get the class?” I put my right hand up on my head and pouted my lips and thought. If I was a Bard trainer where would I be?”

“Are you an idiot, the music store or the concert hall! Where else would the Bard trainer be!”

“Ok! Ok! Lets go.”

We walked down the north road and took the third street in to get to the music store. It looked pretty run down on the outside. The windows were cracked and dirty, the wood all looked like it was rotting, and the door, well there was no door. But still we want to be street performers so we need the Bard class. WAIT! Since when did I want to do anything with Yui! Well she is kind of nice and fairly entertaining. I guess we can play together for a while.

“How am I entertaining!” Yui shouts.

“What I didn’t say anything!”

“No I heard you say it, it sounded kind of strange, but I definitely heard you say that!”

“I didn’t say anything!”

“Ugh, just don’t be mean again”

I definitely didn’t say anything I have no idea what that crazy girl is saying, yes I thought that...

“CRAZY!!! THAT’S THE LAST STRAW!!!” Yui said fuming grabbing my shirt.

“Wait” I plead “I want to test something”

“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT TO TEST, HOW HARD I CAN HIT YOU!!!”

“No, just see if you can hear this” ok could it be possible. Yui, can you hear me.

“Well duh” I heard, but I didn’t see Yui’s lips move.

“Yui! We can hear each other's thoughts!”

“I knew that already Idiot, we share one body in the real world, of course we can hear the others thoughts. It’s even a skill, go on check!”

I opened my menu, and went to skills and sure enough:

Wow, that skill is awesome! I mean it’s kind of annoying, no wait, the classes thing very annoying. Sorry Yui, but still it’s cool.

“Wow that’s one cool skill”

“Ok can we go in now?”

“Go in where? Oh yeah, lets go get that class.”

We entered the run down building.

It looked. Well…… actually pretty nice, the walls were all a nice oak color, and the floor was tiled and patterned with sheet music. The walls were covered with acoustic guitars. Stands were covered with flutes and other woodwind instruments. But no drums, maybe they are in the back. By the counter there was a small elf who was buying a nice looking acoustic guitar from a large burly blond human who had a pretty creepy mustache.

“Hi” I called.

The elf jumped “Ah” he yelled and crouched down hiding his face. “Please dont take my money again” he whimpered.

“What? Why would I take your money? What happened to you”

He tilted his face up a bit so he could see me. “Last time I ran into people they stole all my money and broke my guitar. I thought I could trust them. I know them from school. Why would they do that” he looked like he was going to break into tears.

“Hey don’t worry” Yui said. walking over to the boy. “We just started playing today so we definitely can’t kill you, and we both love music any bard is a friend of ours.” She smiled a smile that brightened the room. “I’m Yui, and that’s Paul by the way.”

“Yeah I said, we were just going to get the bard class so we could be street performers for the first month and level up our buff skills, and make some money from that.”

“Oh. Ok. But why are you here, you need to go to the concert hall to get the Bard class”

“Oh” I said dumbly.

“I bet you don’t even know how to get to the concert hall from here.” He grinned a wicked smile. Then he chuckled to himself, “Want me to take you to the concert hall after I finish getting my guitar.”

“Sure” Yui says.

“Oh wait what’s your name” I asked.

“Oh” the boy said “AlexAssault”

Alex finished getting his guitar and we walked to the Concert hall that was actually right around the corner. We talked to the Bard Trainer who looked like a fool, literally he looked like the jesters from medieval times. All we had to do was play “Mary had a Little Lamb” on a piano, and he even gave us the sheet music! Since we both played the song on the first try, he was impressed, and gave us both an instrument of our choice, we both took the guitar because it’s the most familiar. Also taught us the requiem skill, which can boost either attack, defense, or speed. He also told us about a hidden skill that if we made any songs, and they are considered good enough, they can be made into a skill. We go out and talk to Alex again. “Thanks for the help Alex” I said

“Yeah thanks for showing us the way” Yui said “Can you add us to your friends list, I don't know how”

“Sure” he said sending us both friend requests “Maybe we can party after you leave ariendale”

“Yeah sounds like fun”

We went our separate ways. Yui and I went up to the main square to begin our show. We found a bench in the middle of the square near the fountain. We sat down at the bench and got out our guitars. I placed my case on the ground in front of us for people to put money in.

“Hey Yui, what do you want to play?”

“How about something simple to start, and I want to see if we can get that hidden skill. How about we play ‘Soul Sister’? ”

“Sure, I’ll play lower you play upper?”

“Yup!”

We started playing the song and a small crowd grew, a few people tossed in a copper or two. As we played I felt kind of strange, why did it feel so natural to be with Yui. It feels like i’ve known her all my life yet I only met her about an hour ago. We finished the song and everyone started clapping and two windows popped up.
