Chapter 3 - The Letter

I only associate with 3 people in my life, Ren, my best friend, his brother Kunal and Sage. Ren is very friendly towards everyone and he was the first to approach me when I first came to this town. His brother Kunal, unlike his brother Ren, is exremely shy around people and only talks when necessary, similar to me, the only difference is that I choose not to spend my time socializing. Finally there's Sage, Sage is a random individual. He's usually spending his time sleeping on the desk but every now and then he just spouts some random nonesense that no one can really understand. For some reason there is a club dedicated to him and his "philosophies". I don't really understand how we got to be friends, I guess I was just interested in him, regardless we hang out every now and then.

So, why am I telling myself all this right now? Because I need to face reality and ignore what lies on top of my desk.

Hey, what are you thinking about?

Ren approached me with his usual smile.

Umh, Ren, is this a prank?

He looked at me curiously and then took a look at the top of my desk.

What is that pink envelope?

What is that envelope indeed. It is sealed with a heart sticker and I can only think of one thing.

I knew he would ask that, it's pretty obvious.

No. It's just a prank.

This is probably just an elaborate prank, why would anyone be interested in me in the first place? This doesn't make sense.

I don't think that's the case, why don't you open it? Maybe the girl of your dreams is waiting for you as we speak~

The girl of my dreams is in my dreams for a reason Ren.

He laughed a bit and I tried opening the envelope, surprisingly there was an actual letter inside that said the following.

"Hi __!

I've been interested in you for a long time and I would like to express my feelings to you, I hope I can meet you today behind the school building!

With love, Iris."

Iris, she's the cute girl from next class, she never talked to me, how is she interested in me all of a sudden?

I have two choices here, I either ignore everything and go home like I usually do or play along with this prank and waste my time going behind the school building after school.

Don't assume everyone is out to get you, just go and have some fun. You only have one life anyway, might as well give it a chance.

As much as I hate it, Ren is right. Even if it is just a prank I should give it a try and see what's going to happen.

And so I did, after school I made my way behind the school building and to my surprise a cute girl around my height with short purple hair and blue eyes.

Hey! I'm so glad you made it. This might seem a bit sudden but, will you go out with me?

My mind went blank, this isn't a prank, or at least it doesn't look like one.

Sure...?

While embarassed at my lame answer she seemed extremely happy and ran off.

I guess I have a girlfriend now?
