Deep in a ravine at the bottom of a silvery sea, a faint red light shone. This light had an exceedingly mysterious aura, as though one’s soul would be stolen by it with one glance, and a bizarrely organic movement, like the flowing of countless strands of hair in a gentle breeze. A small distance away, unnoticeable within the light’s brilliance, lay an elliptical, rainbow-colored egg, approximately the size of the head of an adult human.
As the uneventful days passed at the bottom of the ravine, the rainbow-colored egg slowly absorbed small strands of the wavy, red brilliance and with each passing day its many colors slowly morphed to a soft, glowing red that perfectly matched the shade of the emitted light. At the point when the color completely encompassed the egg, it mysteriously aggregated into 30 dark-red, glowing runes that rotated around the surface of the egg, leaving the spaces between the runes with a pure-white appearance. After the time it takes tea to boil passed, one final massive strand of the wavy, red brilliance was absorbed into the egg and gave the runes a push that allowed them to quickly merge into one large, incomplete rune that spanned the entire surface of the egg.
This rune’s profoundness was such that despite clearly only being a small fragment of a much greater whole, it had a might was far vaster than the sum of all 30 of its constituent runes and a glow that was blinding to behold. The rune gradually sunk into the egg until its brilliance completely disappeared from the surface, leaving the entire egg pure-white. Then, from the pure-white surface of the egg 30 silvery runes were born, that each gave off the air of a wondrously, beautiful musical note that resounded with the soul rather than with any physical sensation. These runic notes quickly rotated around the surface of the egg, with an ever-increasing speed, blending together into another single, large, incomplete rune that shook the soul with a deafeningly-loud, harmonious, hymn despite its incomplete status. After the time it takes tea to boil passed, it too swiftly sank into the pure-white egg leaving behind a deep spiritual silence. Soon after, the pure-white egg trembled and broke as a magical beast, at last, hatched into the world.
Magical beasts are creatures that originate from the essence of the major elemental laws of: fire, water, wind, earth, light, and darkness that form the base of the universe. As such, they are naturally born with differing degrees of mastery towards either major or minor elemental laws but struggle immensely to learn the dao that govern the universe. These dao, of which there are six major dao known as: space, time, destruction, creation, yin, and yang, are conversely much easier for the myriad of other, non-elemental, beings of the universe to grasp.
This magical beast was surprisingly born with mastery of 30 of the minor elemental laws under fire that fused into a representation of the mastery of 5% of the major elemental law of fire. Even more surprisingly, the magical beast was born with mastery of 30 of the minor daos under creation that fused into a representation of the mastery of 5% of the major dao of creation. This was not a sign of the birth of a normal magical beast. Only a divine magical beast would be conceived with both a major dao and a major elemental law, for they are natural-born Rulers.

Rules are the culmination of the coalescence of a major dao and a major elemental law. They possess mystique far greater than any one major dao or major elemental law. Rules govern esoteric arts and forces like life, death, and scrying.
Upon opening her jade green eyes, the divine magical beast carefully moved out of her shell and rapidly devoured its remains. She was a meter long serpent that with a vaguely diamond-shaped head and beautiful, clear, reflective scales that resembled tiny mirrors. She had a distinctly thin, yet sturdy torso and a narrow, whip-like tail.
Being a divine beast, she also had inherited memories. These told her three things. That her name was Meihui, that her species name was a Prism Snake, and that the way for her to cultivate was to separate the fire Qi, or energy, out from the Qi of the World as she absorbs it and to circulate it in her body’s core.
As she began to absorb and cultivate fire Qi in her core, it became a bronze color indicating that she had reached the first stage of the Houtian realm of cultivation. Immediately upon doing so she felt the major dao of creation and the major elemental law of fire, that she was born with partial mastery over, fuse together within her bronze core to create a new entity entirely, the rule that was her birthright. With great excitement she manipulated her rule for the first time and an incomprehensible, gigantic rune appeared in front of her and shrunk until it dashed between her jade green eyes into the middle of her forehead to create a clear crystal bead. At that moment her entire being knew what the inherited rule of the Prism Snakes were, the rule that combined fire and creation: the rule of evolution.
Meihui quickly manipulated her control over the rule of evolution to direct her own growth, sensing her surrounding’s potential in order to determine her best course of action. Her senses vaguely indicated that the red brilliance shining over her environment hid a secret that would greatly benefit her being.
Without hesitation she dove towards the red brilliance, fearlessly. She trusted her instincts that told her that its fire Qi was extremely pure, and thus excellent for her cultivation, and more importantly, she trusted her rule that led her in its direction. Her first conscious thought was one of curiosity: I wonder what’s inside that blazing red light?
The Houtian realm is the first realm that cultivators enter. It has 9 stages, each with a progressively massive increase in strength and a slight increase in mental ability. Following the Houtian realm is the Xiantian realm, which also has 9 stages. Beings in the Xiantian realm have world-shaking power, as they begin using Qi to form their immortal bodies at that point. If mortal cultivators can: reach the peak of the Xiantian realm; and master 6 minor daos/elemental laws underneath a major dao/elemental law or fuse the 6 into the mastery of 1% of one major dao/elemental law, then they have a chance to break the chains of mortality and complete their immortal bodies, experiencing a qualitative change and transcending beyond the mortal plane. At that point they enter the realm of True Immortals and vanish from the world within 60 days.
