Escape 1

In a small storage room surrounded by strange artifacts where Wei Tou was told to hide, from there he could still hear his sister’s yelling but her voice was drowned by the sounds of explosion.

He knew something was wrong but no one explained, for them he was too young to understand the events happening in the mansion, he was just told to run and hide in the artifact room, to close the door from inside while switching on the artifact and so he did, but just waiting here and doing nothing was making him more anxious, he was starting to get scared.

Hearing the sounds of explosions at constant intervals was a scary experience and there was no one on his side to calm him down. It was better to be with his sister or with mother, as they were strong. Especially his sister, no one was strong enough to be her opponents, maybe even his parents weren’t as strong as her and he knew that, no matter how hard his sister tried to hide her strength, she could not fool him.

He heard the loud voice of her sister from behind the door and he decided to take a peek and see what she was shouting about.

While he was contemplating whether to open the door to take a peek, the door was forcefully pulled open.

Three were people standing there but when he saw his mother he just couldn't pull his eyes away from her, his mind went blank. His mother who always looked refined was not in a good shape, she had her red gown burnt at various places, while her face was covered with blood and soot. And there was a big gaping hole in her abdomen, which she was trying to cover with her left hand and while using her long sword as a crutch which was dyed red with blood.

While she tried to hide her pain and discomfort when facing him. Her red eyes started to tear up looking down on her son, as he stood there rooted with his mouth agape. He couldn't even question her before he was forcefully pulled in her embrace and she kissed her on his head, after which she got up and pulled out a big artifact from the storage room and started walking towards what was left of the main council hall.

Her sister stood there as she forced herself to look away from her mother and then Wei Tou saw her face, he saw fury, pure unadulterated rage, her eyes almost burning. He had seen her like this once when she massacred more than ten bandits alone when he was taken as a hostage. She saved him while killing the bandits at the same time, he couldn’t even follow her movements. She was so fast, he aspired to be like her and he told her that many times.

Sister’s friend was also there, she didn’t spoke anything from start to finish but he knew Hannabi was her sister’s good friend, they were always together before sister went to the sect. She was all fidgety looking in every direction for any incoming attacks from the assailants.

Her sister picked Wei Tou up and started running in the opposite direction to which her mother went, her friend Hannabi followed her closely behind. Wei Tou knew her sister’s strength, which gave him a bit peace and he tightened her grip around her, he knew they were running away but why he couldn’t see mother. So he asked “ what about mother, when will she come”, but to his dismay he didn’t receive any answer. So he didn’t continued with his questions.

He looked in the direction of mansion for any signs of his mother following them, instead all he saw was destruction.

He looked towards the destroyed buildings of his beautiful home. He had never seen his mansion from above, it would have been beautiful if not for the fire and destruction.

The last thing he saw from the distance before his mansion finally disappeared from his sight was lots of bodies lying around while the ground was dyed red. There were bodies of invaders and his relatives strewn across the ground.

There were still people alive, many of them were still fighting the invaders, while more of them fell, he began to tear up looking at people he used to play with lying in the pool of blood.

He knew his home was in chaos since a month ago, when his father disappeared, everyone tried to find him but there was no clue, all investigators failed to find his father and then a week ago Wei tou was kidnapped, his caretaker killed.

If not for his sister arriving in time to save her, he probably would’ve...

As Wei Tou was still thinking of the past, there was the sound of thunder which woke Wei Tou from his reverie he looked in the direction of the mansion which was very far from where he was now but he could still see the big cloud of smoke rising from it’s direction.

Then came another thunder, bigger than the previous one and he was sure nothing would be left where it fell. It would have destroyed everything, smoke cloud was getting bigger n bigger.

As he was being carried away, he turned to look at his sister but she was looking ahead and her speed also increased, even her friend was having trouble catching up to us, Hannabi was starting to fall behind.

But all of a sudden her sister came to stop, she turned hard right, narrowly dodging a arrow which exploded right where she was. She dropped her brother down from her embrace, while still looking towards the trees ahead.

While Hannabi pulled Wei Tou behind a large rock from where they both watched.

It was an open space with large rocks littered all over the grassy plains, just before the reach of the forest. Just where the grassy plains ends and forest starts, lush vegetation and tall trees were in sight. And a fight was about to break out as Wei Tou watched his sister.

He was anxious, looking at his sister fighting alone. He clenched his small fists wanting to help but he didn’t knew how.

While his sister had already started.
