Chapter Three
“Ok that made me feel a little bit better. But now what”? Dave asked after an impromptu emotional relief session. The sky was still a monotonous lilac with no visible features and the landscape hadn’t changed either.
Trying to lean against the front of the car was rudely interrupted when it suddenly shook left and right. Falling into their arse let them see that the car hadn't suddenly grown an agro problem. Pure Black tendrils were latching onto the tyres. Like a spiderweb being created in real time the car was rapidly being covered.
And so were they.
" Aaaahhhh.Ooh my GOD!" Seeming to sense weakness the black mass congregated towards the still bleeding cut. A few managed to make it onto the wound itself. Still screaming Dave tried to pull away but it was surprisingly difficult. Grunting and huffing and with a great heave their face tore away.

And back into the driver seat they ran.
Though feeling a bit safer there wasn't time to reminisce. The car was shaking harder than ever. It was pretty clear that they had to start moving somewhere or be stuck here without transport. On their own.
*Aaaah. Left . Right. Up. Down. Up. North. Northstar. Guides. Guides to safety. Safety! IMMA go that way.* Decision made , 4x4 was engaged and the vehicle snapped forward the tendrils struggling to find purchase. Tearing up the metaphorical asphalt down the straight, the platform rapidly receded.
The path turned at all sorts of odd angles and almost switched back at places but most definitely headed away. After ten minutes of driving it felt like time to celebrate.
"Whoo. Yeh baby. Ugly little space tentaclea can suck my di..!"
The car then went straight over the edge.
.
.
And landed safely. It was only a half metre slope after all.
" Yeh. I should probably slow down now… and get out of these undies."
