I started us off. Three shots from my plasma repeater went right into his side. A splattering of lightning danced my way. It struck so fast and I arched my back in pain. The Powered Ilaekraaa was the strongest opponent we had faced yet.

Suri moved in after I prompted her. She provided air support in the drone. Still my shots had hurt it as it wobbled towards me. Her bullets bounced off the massive creature, but it also kept it in place.

Beast being the beast. He made a perfect shot into it’s right eye. Which gave me the time to recover. The skill it used had paralyzed me.

Its back glowed as four electrified poles shot out from it and I dodged one, only to get impaled against the barbs of a fungicide Birchwood that smelled like shit. To add to my delight, the barbs had rear facing thorns that meant the only way out was through me.

I swivelled my repeater as I tumbled to the ground. A desperate shot hitting the Powered Ilaekraaa in the toe. This sent the spike aimed at me centimetres away from my head.

I sent in the invisible boy Sam, with the puck we picked up. But to my disappointment, he was detected.The Powered Ilaekraaa popped off the embedded spikes, stood tall and a blast of concentrated lightning burst from it.

Lucky for those of us with weapons the blast was short ranged. More lucky for Invisible the Stud, was that the attack also drained the Powered Ilaekraaa and left it dazed and stumbling. So even though he was numb. They both couldn’t move.

Me, Suri, Beast, and Beauty got to work. Unleashing all our weapons as fast as possible. The damage is minimal but present, then as always in combat, I made a mistake.

The command to attack was given to everybody with a weapon. Including Mabena, Mabena got his name because he disappointed me. Yes, I know it's my fault, but it's like he can talk back. Mabena the skinny asshole with a god body. If I could define him. He would be tall, dark, and handsome. He was the one who I had given the Electric Pike.

I thought, ‘good on him.’ As I watched Mabena rush towards the Powered Ilaekraaa. The Electric Pike glowed with a powerful charge. What followed next hurt my feelings, but not as much as it broke him.

The charge empowered the monster. However, Sam had gotten lucky as the sharp Pike lodged itself in between the Powered Ilaekraaa ribs. Yes, I know I should have sent it to the hindquarters, but again I was eager and I just thought if we all attacked, it would be over. It grew twelve photon spikes, all but three were on its back. Those in its back crackled with thick plasmatic lightning.

As I watched Mabena hurled across the jungle. Impaled by three of those photon spikes. These spikes also acted like a lightning rod and focused the bolts of life-sapping plasma toward Mabena.

I fired, kneeling on one leg. I aimed at its hindquarters. Mabena no longer functioned, but he wasn't destroyed. The signal was muted, something important got discontented. I could ping him, but I was not getting more than a location and some power systems.

Beast sideswiped the Powered Ilaekraaa, his shots are all around the face. He tried to get its attention off Mabena. I shot my repeater, each shot hit. Its side was peppered with holes but it didn't stop. Another round of lightning sent me Beauty and Beast away behind some trees. Invisible Boy sent a signal that he had placed the puck. As I previously instructed. But I ignored him and sent him back into cover, away from the fight.

Suri was the one that attracted its attention. Her thousands of bullets from her Gatling gun finally doing something.

She is too fast for it and the Powered Ilaekraaa was too powerful to go down. But it had the turn rate of a rhino.

I kept shooting, trying to hamper its limited movement even more. Suri had gone around so fast that she also struck where I had. Once Beauty was in position. She did the same. I should have known it was another mistake. But in my defence, a cadet 5 designed M.O.B. shouldn’t be a threat to me.

I was technically a cadet 10 due to my augmentation. Being a non combat augmentation, it would only provide additional boosts at rank up. So while my base attributes rose as I gained exp. It didn’t provide additional abilities.

I turned the opposite way, bringing it closer to Beast. So he could kite it. It was not as stupid as I thought. Once the fifth shot of lightning missed. Suri charged the target.

"Oh fish!" My heart thumped with excitement. This is the strongest creature yet, and I barely kept up. I combat rolled away as another tail spike swooshed by my chest. Prone I shot off three shots. They hit!

Zap! Pop...splat! A gallon of blood fell out in an instant from its side where Mabena had made the initial twisting gut slice.

Suri for some reason decided this was the perfect time to fly her drone into the Powered Ilaekraaa. It flopped over like it was tackled by a rugby-playing truck.

I jumped on it! Fired everything I had at close range, letting loose as fast as the repeater would go. A blast of power threw us all off and in the corner of my vision, I saw something familiar dashing forward.

The purely magnetic pulse sent us flying! And the Powered Ilaekraaa floated. It would have been crazy awesome. If it wasn't floating toward me.

Even though we are flying through the air. I sent for an attack, only beauty was able to fire given our angels. We collapsed as Suri and her drone managed to extricate themselves. The ground around the creature trembled with power, miasmic lighting threatened us all. Then That small delightful hard to spot menace appeared. SAM! Threw the puck into the belly of the beast.

Nothing happened then, I remembered. I have to give the signal for the puck to be activated. The invisible boy had only powered it up. Before its final attack could go off. I activated the puck and, it froze. The heavily wounded creature couldn't fight on. The creature had an odd green glow around from it fighting against the stasis field effect.

BOOOM!

The looted body doesn't give anything else but I’m not angry. Besides the constant pit of rage swallowing my happiness! Was being eroded by the reward for clearing the room. I made several mental notes to find out what a transcendent artefact was.

Suri and for some reason Beauty went to help Mabena. Well, not for some random reason. But I only sent Suri for a pickup and Beauty was tagging along. I would only be able to fix him up once I have the Bio-droid module installed on my ship.

My grin reached my eyes, and I couldn't stop. I felt that I was underutilizing my body. The power was exceptional, but I barely scratched the surface of my newfound abilities.

I needed to fight better. I was hurt! Yes, but not tired. I don't feel any exhaustion from the fight. We just had and Mabena looked like Pinocchio before he was a real boy.
