Ryan woke to the bustling movement early in the morning, a rarity in Crabbleberry. A place people were crabby on the bestest of days. Of Course, Class Day was the one exception for the year. Well this year at the very least. Most years there wasn't a single person in the mining town of 50 turning 16. A sign of adulthood today was special year because someone would find out their class. That someone being Ryan.

Despite the cheerfulness in the town, Ryan felt despair. He would likely get the miner class and spend the rest of his life in the mines as he'd already spent the last 8 years down their. Ever since old man Herb died, he'd had to find a way to survive. The only way for an unskilled kid to do that in a place like Crabbleberry is the mines. His small frame was useful for fitting into small crevices and exploring unexplored areas.

*BANG BANG*

A knock on the door broke Ryan from his thoughts.

"Ryan! Come on out lad, theirs only a few minutes till dawn. When all who turned 16 throughout this year will awaken their class system.", spoke the voice that Ryan knew to be Bergren, the town smithy.

"I'm coming, I'm coming", replied Ryan.

I guess I might as well rip the splinter out Ryan thought as he got out of bed.

He was immediately met with the frigid air that heightened his senses.

"RYAN!! Hurry up Lass, theirs only a few minutes left. Don't want to mess up your big day", Poked Bergren,

He knew it would likely just reaffirm his position in the mines.

"HAHA, very funny my big day of unlocking eternal mining", I poked back

"Hey who knows maybe you'll unlock an affinity and get out of these dang frigid reaches", Bergren said optimistically.

"maybe....", I said know its hopeless. An affinity marked a craftsman or adventurer, not a common occupation. No one in the entire history of Crabbleberry had ever awoken one. They often awoken with bloodlines were the rumors. However Ryan could say little for facts as all is information was from old Herb who had gotten it from estranged travelers over the years.

Ryan met an impatient Bergren and followed him a mere hundred yard to the town center where he was met with familiar faces, well except one hooded figure standing off to the side.

"Who he", Ryan asked nodding toward the man.

"A passerby, he was traveling back towards civilization and thought he'd stay around for your awakening", Bergren replied.

pausing his step for a second he lowered his voice," He a powerful master I reckon definitely not in the F-rank like the rest of us.

Hearing this Ryan perked up, a possible E+ Rank in Crabbleberry was unheard of. Ryan didn't know much about the kingdom but he reckoned their couldn't be many of them. However, before he could dwell on it further his vision was filled.
