Screams could be heard throughout the small house. The wails of a woman having a hard child-birth.
"FUCK! Make the fucking pain stop already!" A young woman with bright, long read hair screamed. She was a very small woman, never having the curves other women had. Her name was Jhona. She was a fire mage. Although not a very good one.
"It will be alright dear. You will pull through." Another person told the woman. This one was a young man, a few years older than the woman. He had black hair, a rather average build, and was rather unremarkable. His name was Sebastian.
"Like fucking hell I will be alright! This demon spawn is trying to fucking kill me! Not even out the womb and already trying to off me!" Jhona screamed. Her husband only rolled his eyes.
The pair where not really in love. They didn't even really like each other. They where minor nobles. Jhona was given the title due to her father being a powerful mage. They needed him to help win a war. Sebation was from a long lineage of nobles. None were really noteworthy. Their marriage was purely political. Yet they played their parts, even when they didn't need to.
The hours soon passed. The blood did not stop. No one really thought anything of it. Jhona was small and petite, as well as this being her first child. A lot of blood was expected. Even the doctor who was there to make sure everything was fine dismissed it. She bled out without anyone even noticing. The maid simply left for a few hours to look after the new baby, and when she got back her mistress was already dead. A mix of blood loss, and lacking the Constitution to deal with the struggles of a difficult birth.
Sebastion was devastated. He never loved her, but he always felt dutybound to try. He had spent the last eight years with her, the last two actually married. Even if you don't like someone, after that much time you come to respect them.
"My lord?" The maid asked. She still held the child in her arms. She didn't know what to do with it. "The child. What do you wish to do with it?" She questioned. Sebastion made her wait.

After almost an hour, the baby awoke and began crying. The young noble gritted his teeth. He already hated the sound. "You heard my wife. That thing is a demon spawn. I shall name it after what it is. Call it Diablo. Now it has a name, kill it. Give it to the hounds."
The maid, a young girl of only sixteen, was shocked into silence. "M-milor-"
"FUCKING KILL THE DEMON! DID YOU NOT HEAR ME?" Sebastion yelled at the maid. With tears in her eyes, the young girl quickly nodded and ran away. After half an hour, the hunting hounds were chewing on something small, pink and fleshy. Ripping it to shreds in a matter of seconds. It was not even identifiable after the first few times it was ripped apart.
The screams could be heard all through the small house. No one spoke. The only other sound was the crying of a young maid.
Meanwhile, the beast-master trudged through the waist-deep snow with a small bundle in his arms. The cries of a baby coming from it. "I do't lik' do'en dat ta de pups, but a' human be a' more val'ble dan a' runt o' da litter. Wee Diablo eh? Ya gotta grow up strong, ya hear?" The elderly beast-master told the bundle. An old hound panting at his side.
From there, Diablo was passed from hand to hand, human to beastman, beastman to knight, knight to thief, then, finally, thief to an orphan mother. At such a young age, Diablo had already traveled from one side of The Kingdom of the Plains to the other. From a noble house, barely more than a peasant hut, to the capital of the kingdom.

Hey. I always wanted to write this story, but never got around to it. So I decided to get around to it. Quick rundown on how Skills and titles work next chapter. I am starting up a discord server for this. I get unmotivated easy, so I am hoping at least a few people join to help push me towards writing this. Who knows, if this actually goes somewhere (Highly unlikely) I may just end up doing this full time. Ah, wishful thinking.

Huh, kinda nervous about posting this. I've only ever done half-assed fanfics before....
