Religions:
The Great Sun Dragon - The most popular religion on the continent. It is a branch religion of 'The Two Great Dragons'. The followers believe the sun is actually a dragon egg that will eventually hatch and gather all of its followers into it's back to take them to heaven and leave the heathens in darkness. This religion is full of zealots and is known to be violent to its parent religion and other off-shoots. Their symbol is a sun with a dragon wrapped around it.
Two Great Dragons - The parent religion of 'The Great Sun Dragon' and 'The Great Moon Dragon'. The followers believe that both the sun and moon are twin dragon eggs and that when they hatch they will bring prosperity and wealth to all followers. It used to the largest religion on the continent until the zealots of 'The Great Sun Dragon' burnt down the head temple and burnt most the priests alive. It is still practiced in small villages and some city-states. Though the number is constantly dropping. Their symbol is a bright dragon and a dark dragon intertwined.
The Great Moon Dragon - The secluded and secret off-shoot of 'The Two Great Dragons'. The followers believe that the moons is actually a dragon egg and when it hatches, the dragon will fly down and give its followers knowledge of all things. It is not openly followed, though many scholars follow this faith. Their symbol is the moon with a dragon wrapped around it.
Talon - A religion only followed in the most northern reaches of the continent. It tells the story of a great hero who tapped into the ley lines beneath the earth to access forbidden magic. With this magic, he held off an invasion of a monster horde that was said to be destined to wipe out all of humanity. But in doing so, the forbidden magic destroyed his body but infused with his soul. This is said to be the creation of both light and dark magic. Now Talon protects the people of the north from all external threats. Their symbol is a sword surrounded by streams of both light and dark magic.
The silver hawk: A religion only followed in the Sunset Islands, a large archipelago to the southeast of the continent. The followers believe that there was once a giant silver hawk that fought off a wivern that was attacking the islands. After defeating it, the creature died. But from its bloody body, thousands of more sliver hawks were born. Creating a race that opposes wyverns in the domination of the skies above the islands. Thus keeping the people safe. The hawks are also fond of humans, while the wyverns only see humans as food. Their symbol is a silver hawk.

The One God: A religion that is rather new. Its followers only include a single city-state to the south of The Empire Of Great Karn. The followers believe in peace before a conflict. Their monks often take vows of never committing violence or condoning it. It is said the will never raise their hand, even in self-defense. But their healing power and use of light magic are said to be second to none. They have no icon or symbol.
The many faces: The religion of assassins. They kill people then take their faces. None more is known outside their order.
Major kingdoms:
The Empire Of Great Karn is the regional superpower and is currently uncontested. Although with the new ruler being little more than a baby, internal strife and opportunist nobles are on the rise. It is currently expanding rapidly in an attempt to bring everyone together under a common cause. It does not seem to be working and seems to be making things worse for both them and the surrounding nations.
The Kingdom of the Plains is a medium power. It has a large mountain range to it's north and then a collection of city-states. Beyond them is The Empire. To their south lay a dozen small kingdoms, barely more than city-states themselves, that have strong marital ties and a strong defense pact. To the west are more mountains with many dwarven mountain clans living among them. These Clans are rather friendly but prefer to stick to their old ways. To the east is the principality of Coral. It is a coastal principality that has no real military power but holds much economic power. It is actually ruled by three merchant princes.
Kingdom of the Wastes is a medium power and the northernmost kingdom. They do not have much in the way of wood or food but hold some of the richest minerals and meals on the continent. They rely heavily on trade to secure food. As such, everyone is either a shrew merchant or a vicious warrior. Often both. They are also known as the best Vampire and Werewolf hunters in the world, as both races do not feel the cold and enjoy the darkness of the far north.
The Sunset Islands are a minor nation of seafaring men and elves to the southeast of the continent. Although originally only elves lived there, since they opened up to humans they are quickly becoming a minority in their own nation. This has yet to lead to any conflicts, as the humans seem eager to adopt the elf traditions. But with piracy on the rise in the area, things may turn south.
