Chapter 11: The Path of Kings

The First Step into a Larger World

The morning after Prince Aldric’s visit, Priyam stood at the academy’s balcony, staring out over the vast city of Luxendorf. From this high vantage point, he could see the towering spires of the royal palace in the distance, the bustling markets filled with merchants from different races, and the grand bridges arching over the river that divided the city into districts. This world—once a fantasy to him—was beginning to feel real.

His thoughts, however, were clouded by uncertainty. Aldric’s offer still lingered in his mind, and Malakar’s warning echoed in his ears. If powerful enemies were already moving, then he needed to be stronger. But where would he even begin?

Evelyne approached him from behind, her silver hair shimmering in the early sunlight. "Priyam, we need to talk."

He turned to her, nodding. "About Aldric?"

She sighed. "That, and something else. Malakar has been going through old records about the Nameless One’s seal. There’s something odd about it."

Priyam frowned. "What do you mean?"

"Come with me."

Malakar had transformed one of the academy’s hidden libraries into his personal research chamber. Ancient tomes were stacked high, magical scrolls floated midair, and glowing runes lined the walls.

The Grand Mage wasted no time. "Priyam, there’s something I need to show you." He placed an old parchment on the table. It depicted an ancient map, showing a vast continent divided into seven major kingdoms—each ruled by a different race.

"This is what the world used to be," Malakar explained. "Before war and greed broke the balance. The world was once ruled by the Seven Thrones—each occupied by a king or queen of a different race."

Priyam studied the map, recognizing the sigils of the elves, dwarves, beastmen, orcs, demons, dragonkin, and humans. "But now, the human kingdom of Luxendorf holds the most power."

"Exactly." Malakar’s voice was grave. "And do you know why? Because the human kings found a way to suppress the other races. A method lost to time—until now."

Priyam’s heart skipped a beat. "You’re saying it’s connected to my power?"

Malakar nodded. "Not just your power. You’re linked to something much bigger. And if we are to unravel this mystery, you will need to travel beyond Luxendorf and seek out the knowledge hidden within the other kingdoms."

A Journey Begins: Meeting the Elven Princess

Priyam wasn’t given much time to process the information. That evening, the academy received an unexpected visitor.

A royal carriage, pulled by ethereal silver steeds, arrived at the gates. It bore the sigil of the Elven Kingdom of Sylveria—a land of endless forests, shimmering lakes, and towering tree palaces.

From the carriage emerged a figure that stole Priyam’s breath away.

A tall, graceful elf with long, flowing emerald hair and piercing violet eyes. She wore elegant robes woven with silver threads that glowed faintly with enchantments. Her presence was regal, yet her beauty carried a mysterious allure.

Evelyne, standing beside Priyam, stiffened. "That’s… Princess Lyria of Sylveria."

The elven princess stepped forward, her eyes scanning the gathered students before locking onto Priyam.

"You are the one called Priyam?" she asked, her voice like a soft melody yet carrying the weight of command.

Priyam hesitated before nodding. "Yeah… That’s me."

Lyria’s gaze didn’t waver. "Then you are the one I have come to meet. The Elven High Council has foreseen your arrival in this world, and they believe you may hold the key to a prophecy older than time itself."

Priyam felt a lump form in his throat. "A prophecy?"

Lyria nodded. "Yes. And whether you accept it or not, your fate is now tied to the destiny of the Seven Thrones."
