Twas the night before Christmas and all through the city screams and explosions made a terrible ditty.

It was a gruesome scene in a certain city in the Andromeda galaxy. The city was being destroyed and the inhabitants who were unlucky enough to survive were going to suffer a much more miserable fate. As the people were getting taken to their new fate in the hands of the one they all beat, abused, betrayed, and then cast out to die, they all rued the day that met a certain naive boy who was found floating down the river in the middle of the city.

He was found by an old scavenger, while he was looking for anything valuable in the disgusting muck they called water, made that way from the factories who dumped chemicals they used to make plastic and purify the water the nobles drank and the cities upstream who dumped their sewage into the river so they don’t have to deal with the smell.

"well" the old scavenger said to himself, "I've gotten myself in a fine pickle this time, haven't i Dave" (he's talking to himself). The boy Dave found looked to be about five years old, with bright blond hair, and about 5ft. tall (about 1 and a half meters) tall. normally a 5 foot tall person would be about 13 years old, but this kid was obviously five years old, he still had his baby fat and lacked the firm face that you get when you hit puberty.

Dave took this kid home with him to his old run down shanty, where he lives by himself after his wife died. "well, I wasn't gettin much loot anyways" he thought to himself. Dave decided to start cooking dinner which was his usual gruel for him but for the boy he added some cabbage "need him to be healthy to take care of these old bones" he said trying to persuade himself. The boy slowly slowly woke up and opened his ordinary brown eyes. when he smelled an interesting smell he had no name for. "you want your cabbage gruel" [oh cabbage gruel is what that smell is] the boy thought. "you got a name sonny?" the old man asked. "Name?" the boy asked. "alright boy since you don't have a name I'll give you one... let's see I'll name you Adam". Adam then realized he was starving and his stomach agreed with that sentiment loudly. "Whatcha waitin for boy hurry up and eat before it gets cold".

and that's how this boy spent five years helping Dave with scavenging and surviving off selling garbage.
