Chapter 5 Yin Yang Body Refinement Technique (rewritten)

With Haiyang eaten his fill with the freshest of rabbits he started to calm down. With a few minutes of thinking he decides that he should analyze the technique whole heartily. He compiled what he knew of the technique.

Which turned out to be the name as Yin Yang Body Refinement technique, the layers as Yin, Yang, And Taiji. He looks into the memory of the technique to find more information. The more information that he needed was that when there is a full moon imprint on every bone, muscle, organ, qi pathways, and dantian he would be at the peak of the Yin layer.

Haiyang commits the first layer of the technique to memory before trying to think of the best place to train. With much consideration he decided that the mountain with his mother and father’s den was located.

Once he got there he “cleaned” the last of the blood by covering it in dirt, to not attract predators. With that done he spent the rest of the day cleaning and hunting. Once night arrived he climbed to the peak of the mountain.

At the peak of the mountain the area was bathed in moonlight. There were even shadows of the few trees that resided at the peak. This was the best time to cultivate so Haiyang got down to it. He got into his meditative pose and started to absorb the moonlight. With moonlight absorbed he converted it to the misty, silver moonlight qi. He uses that to fill up his dantian quite easily.

Next came the hard part of using it. Haiyang slowly pulls the qi from his dantian through his qi pathways. Where ever the qi pass through he starts to feel a stabbing and tearing pain. This pain is so great that his consciousness starts to go fuzzy. He works through this pain and completes one cycle. As soon as the qi travels back to his dantian black over takes his vision and he passes out.

When Haiyang wakes up the next morning he anxiously looks through his “mind’s eye” at his dantian. Haiyang saw nothing but depleted moonlight qi and not a single moon imprint anywhere. Haiyang was disappointed but not surprised as nothing is that easy, especially in a cultivators world.

With night gone Haiyang spends the day hunting, cleaning left over blood, and studying the surroundings. When night came he started to train once more. The pain was still the same and the ending was the same as well.

Haiyang wasn’t discouraged though ashe continued the cycle for a week.

With the week of training he could now see a faint imprint on some bones. Once he say the imprints he was ecstatic, and couldn’t wait to get back to training.

----------------------------------------

Four more weeks of training passed in a blink of an eye. In these four weeks Haiyang kept to cultivating at night and hunting and looking through his surroundings during the day. By this time Hiayang’s bones all had an moon imprint. When the a bone developed an imprint and the more the imprint got strengthened he could feel them getting stronger.

With his labor bearing fruit Haiyang could do nothing but smile. There was one thought that made constant appearances though, and that was how slowly the imprints developed. Haiyang had one idea to solve that though. It was that special herbs could help him progress faster. His novels in his old life had them so what stopped this world from having them. So his new routine involved him searching for possible herbs that could help.

----------------------------------------

Three weeks pass of Haiyang’s schedule with him only now developing faint moon imprints on his muscles, and no special herbs. From his very small sample size Haiyang could only think that his talent was poor. He spent three weeks just getting a faint mark.

With no herbs in sight he could only think of a new method to speed up cultivation. The solution he comes up with is physical training, because it worked in his books so should work here. So he pushed physical training of running and trying to push boulders to the top of his priorities just above looking for special herbs.

Haiyang continues with his new schedule of physical training during the day and cultivating at night he can say he sees improvement. If he used the small amount of leftover qi, from his nightly cultivation, to refine the imprints as he did the physical training they appeared at a slightly faster rate.

With a new way of cultivating Haiyang starts training with more enthusiasm. Though as the days go by Haiyang starts to think about a new goal besides revenge. He wants to go back to human society, and with the possibility of him transforming into a human again it's very possible. So starts training for more then revenge but for a better life.
